I always thought the most telling moment was when Suga just smiles at the fire. Such an incredible scene!
The fake love that they are talking about in this video is any love that you feel like you have to change yourself or put on a mask to keep. Whether it’s with a lover, a friend, a family member, or even yourself. This video is part of the BU but there is a ton of symbolism both about the BU storyline, and the overall theme of the Love Yourself trilogy. Just to skim the surface a little bit: the flower in the lamp that Jin was trying to protect represents the fake love, but when the wind came blasting through the room the fake love turned to ashes. When Jungkook goes to the waterfall the lamp is sitting on a pile of ashes and when he lets them run through his fingers you see the ghost of flower petals floating away representing letting go of the fake love, at which point a door opens in the waterfall and Jungkook is able to walk through and finally meet his true self behind the mask. Other than that each member is in a room that represents their fictional BU character’s childhood trauma. For example, J-Hope is locked in a room with carnival games on a bed of snickers bars because his character’s mother abandoned him at an amusement park as a child after giving him a snickers bar and telling him to wait for her. So the Snickers bars represent J-hope’s mother’s fake love. Each of the other members have stuff too, but this comment is already too long.

This mv FAKE LOVE is a continuation of their BU storyline. The part of the SNICKER BARS is very sad. The character JHope plays in the room lying in a bed of SNICKER bars was abandoned by his mother as a toddler. The mother took him as a toddler to an amusement park to spend their last moments together; they even took a picture together. Then, the mother sits the toddler down, has him to cover his eyes and pretends it's a game of hide and seek. She tells the little boy to count while covering his eyes. As the toddler counts, the mother proceeds to place the photo that they took together and a SNICKER bar next to the toddler before she walks away and disappears out of his life forever.
Now, if you look at the room, it is filled with snicker bars bc he is still that toddler inside that is still trying to fill the void of his mother's love and the last moments they spent together . BTS' storyline goes all the way back to 2014...2015. Also, BTS had the most well thought out universe storyline of any kpop group in history.

I don't know if you understood that it's fake love when we change our behavior just in order to "adapt" to our partner, trying to be the way they want us to be. In the end, we are fooling our partners and ourselves. Real love is loving ourselves and offering to others the real us.
