I remember all of these commercials and promos. I was 11 years old in 2001. The Powerhouse Era was the best era in CN history.

I never thought there would be a time I would enjoy watching commercials
I remember when I was a little boy back in the year 2001 I've always watched commercials on Cartoon Network before the show comes back on every time when there's a WWE/WWF or a Hot Wheels commercial I always ask my mom to buy them for me
Back when Shrek was a normal character.

I was only 5 back then, and now I'm 23. 2001 was the first year I was watching Cartoon Network, and my earliest memories of Toon Disney and Nickelodeon too. I look back at this year as the start of my childhood nostalgia, and I really miss the early 00's for cartoons, the variety that was around back in the day and the way blocks and marathons were advertised that grabbed the attention of the viewer immediately. The early 00's Powerhouse/Cartoon Cartoons era of CN had the new cartoons at time mixed with the old cartoons our parents grew up with when they were children.
I loved Cartoon Cartoon Friday's because that's legit all you would do after dinner from 7 to 11.
Remember when Adult Swim wouldn't air on Fridays?
Sometimes when I am feeling down, I look up vidoes of certain time eras to relive the moments being a kid.
Honestly that kind of (understatement.) Makes me more down... But in a melancholic way.
How we all want to return to those times... Life was a tad simpler back then and so were we.
@@yourcordialvermillionchapw2398 why would I want to relive the same thing? I don't want to live in the past like some loser. Lol
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e, It never hurts to look back just not stay there for a long duration that it becomes part of your life.

Christian B then why are u even here ? Like people who came to this vid for nostalgia, and we don’t want to be judged as losers . It’s just being a kid was something so special . I had a great childhood so I can speak for myself and I am proud when I look back

dedede the superstar warrior you are not wrong at all
It's crazy how much of this I'm actually remembering. To whoever recorded this, thanks for the throwback.
Yeah... Don't remember the Shrek Ketchup one though, I wonder how that would of tasted man how I love to have an opportunity to Time Travel just to see/feel what it's like back in the day with more clarity.
2020 kids: We got fortnite, iPads, and twerking.
Me a 2001 kid: We... got.. foam soap.
Add social distancing and mandatory mask wearing in the mix
We had dignity bro..
And on average we were much happier kids... Such simple shit like blue butter, babybottle pops, cartoon network, gameboys and toys made us happy. Now its all about RUclips and social media. :(
Ngl you guys are kinda true but also sound like boomers...
Me as an early 2000s kid: We....have...Barney.
Dude, this is even more nostalgic than I thought it'd be. Whoever recorded this was from the Houston area. Cool to see old local commercials.
Right on
SAME!
I remember gattitown, I went there.
Leon Kennedy There was a GattiTown here in Dallas. RIP GattiTown.
Houston area reporting in, born in '95. What a coincidence. I remember much of this video, surreal.
Houstonian too
I turned 8 years old on May 18th, 2001. 19 years ago and some change, it’s so amazing to have the ability to cherish these kinds of memories of a simpler time, and still remember so much of it

@@TealDaubs I don't think you understand.
The post 9/11 era was vastly different from pre. And so, a lot of people say the 90s really didn't end until September 2001.
There was a purple Shrek ketchup as well. I was very, very little at the time and don't remember much, but I could never forget the green and purple Shrek ketchup.
Idk if it was shrek but i do remember a purple ketchup.
I remember some sort of purple ketchup. Honestly, how did that get FDA approved???

Truly a glimpse into the pre 9/11 world
Things really were different before that date.
I still feel that the 'old world' died after September 11th. People are much more worried and paranoid today. Things changed drastically after that.
Artem The GOAT that's racist.
The outside world was suffering much before that but our privileged asses were completely clueless.

Why did they show Disney and DreamWorks commercials on CN?
Holy nostalgia! These late 90s early 2000s commercial clips are literally the closest thing to traveling back to childhood. It’s crazy how the memories come hitting and how I remember damn near every one of them and some I totally forgot existed lol
This makes me sad. Kids don't play with toys anymore. Cartoon Network sucks now. Nostalgia overload...

@@raph2954 Exaclty. Kids nowadays play with toys. Most people consider video games toys as well.
@RexyThePrisoner Plays We Bare Bears is great
CN has tons of good shows still
Let's be honest, 2001 was still pretty much the 90s, culture didn't really change from the 90s until 2004...by 2007, culture made some major shifts, it was the beginning of real cyber age...by 2010 things really changed..and things have been going to total shit since 2014...I'm 20 now and I've grown up so fast...it's sad how my best memories of growing up are now behind me..being a youthful kid/adolescent is truely the best if you have a good environment, over the last year and a half Ive been feeling it start to really fade away..age 2-17 was the best, a couple years ago was okay, for the last year I really feel my early years fading into the beginning of adulthood
Absolutely well said. I've been saying forever that 2014/ The Obama era was the beginning of the end of the optimism of the early 2000s
LOL 2004 onwards wasn't that great, most of the 00s was a terrible decade anyway. You're young but let me tell you how much 9/11 culturally ruined America and you can thank that and Dubya Bush...
12:58 Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, my first Zelda game ever. I was 7 years old when i first started playing this. Ive never seen this commercial before, until now. And my god it looks incredible!
