  • The only way to successfully treat sepsis caused by S. aureus. When dealing with infections caused by S.aureus, everything has to be done right: The choice of antibiotics, the duration of treatment, screening for complications like endocarditis and metastatic infections, source control, follow-up blood cultures, and much more. Even with modern drugs, Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia still carries a mortality rate of 25%, but there is a lot we can do to increase our patients' chances.
    If you want to make sure you recognize life-threatening infections like sepsis and CNS infections in time, you will find invaluable tips in my short, practice-oriented lectures!

    I want to remind everyone that my videos are for educational purposes only. Of course, everyone is welcome to watch, but the information I present is most useful for junior doctors, nurses, and students. As I stated in the description of every video and on my channel homepage, none of this is medical advice for patients. I don't practice medicine over the internet. If you are a patient and have any questions about your health, please get in touch with your doctor.

    I had staph aureus lodged in my neck vertebrae, cervical epidural abscess. It was so severe I had a complete laminectomy to drain it but unfortunately the infection damaged my spinal cord. I was paralysed as a result , spent 6 weeks with a pickline antibiotics and had to learn to walk again. If you have bad neck pain go straight to hospital emergency and get bloods and an MRI scan as that’s the only way to diagnose MRSA

      My son was tested Today he is only 14, he woke up with a big inflammation on his neck only on one side, my wife took him to a doctor, the doctor send him to do a CT scan, he was diagnosed with MRSA, he has a small pain near to his neck and ear, can you help me I’m very scared, he started with antibiotics now. If you have any tip or if you know any doctor, I really appreciate your help🙏🙏🙏

      @@policialanimal It sounds like it may just be infected in the tissue to the side of his neck and not inside his neck vertebrae. This is much easier to treat with oral antibiotics alone as it's tissue only. My pain was extremely bad in the middle of the neck and after 6 days the right hand side of my body became paralysed and I couldn't urinate properly. If his pain or swelling haven't improved in the next 24hr take him to emergency at hospital. When I finally went the doc squeezed the top vertebrae in my neck and my left arm spasms, that's a sure sign it's bad! It may be that your son just has an infected cyst , with a red swelling ... in which case they should lance it and drain the mrsa. Be vigilant and if it gets worse he may need to be admitted to hospital and put on an antibiotic drip. Let me know how you are travelling.

    My father died with this. They didn’t even try to help him. He had no spleen. They just let him lay there and then when he passed, they asked me for body parts. To this day I am disgusted with this practice. He’s not well enough to take the surgery, and they refused to do anything.

    15 years ago I contracted a staphylococcus infection while on holiday in Egypt. It created terrible ulcers that persisted for years. You never get rid of this bug but knowing you have it is a huge plus.
    On the outside it's not a problem but inside it's very nasty. Most GPs will treat you like a pest but you need to use a doctor that understands how important this is.
    I almost had to have my foot amputated a few years ago because a young GP refused antibiotics.
    This isn't a trivial bug.

    very good explanation dr.Viktor, can i ask: for a patient with staff infection, that had a stroke, than complications like endocarditas and holds water in the lungs and heart, what should be the best advice?

    • @clinicaltips8926
      @clinicaltips8926  Год назад +2

      Hello! If I understand your question correctly, the patient has endocarditis, which causes them to retain fluid in the lungs, meaning that the affected valve is severely damaged. In that case, you should consult a cardiologist and a cardiac surgeon for further treatment.

    I used garlic and it seemed to be working but it ripped off a bunch of skin. I ended up going to get antibiotics. I took like 5 days of antibiotics then stopped because it was making me so tired. Hopefully the infection is gone enough for my body ti be able to heal the wound the rest of the way by itself.

    I forgot to mention if you believe it's in your son's neck vertebrae then he will need an MRI to diagnose this, a CT scan does not show up a cervical abscess. Go to hospital for this and make urgent request
