the 1993 dio vs jotaro fight is very eerie without the background music and SFX
The part marked as OVA 1999 was actually done in 2000, and the one marked as OVA 2000 was done in 1993
The OVAs don't get enough credit. That scene where Jotaro throws Iggy is one of the best animation I've ever seen.

They're 12 OVAs compared to 40 or something episodes of the anime series, they had more time to make less animation so of course it's gonna turn up more animated and consistent, though the Darby OVA looks significantly more manga accurate art style wise compared to the other OVAs for some reason.
@@ginogatash4030the reason the D'Arby gambler episode looks more manga accurate is because the character designer for the Part 5 anime did the character designs in that episode of the OVA.

i always wondered this about star platinum stopping time. they say its because the world and star platinum are similar stands. it was stated to be able to stop time you must first believe you can. is it possible that star platinums main power wasn't even to stop time but jotaro was the only one to think he could so he was able to. i know it sounds stupid but hear me out star platinum has had multiple random abilities and jotaro noticing that the world was similar to his stand could have been a thought of his and so he tried to figure out if he could.

Dio stopped time before he thought he could, so that's not how that works. Personally I think Jotaro inherited his stand from Dio, but didn't know he had the ability to move in stopped time or stop time himself until he met Dio. The rest of SP's abilities could be counted as just part of its physical attributes and not special abilities.

I like to think that the joestars got stands that would help them kill dio, joseph's hermit purple made photos of where dio was and even How his castle looked like and jotaro had a stand that would be able to kill dio, and the only way to do that would be to have the same ability as his.
Also star platinum and the world were the first stands araki made, that's why they're so similar
I remember hearing that the world and star platinum’s time stopping abilities were changed from generally stopping time to the stands (and/or users) just moving so fast that time appears to be stopped. Which is why Jotaro’s time stop duration was reduced by made in heaven’s ability. So i guess the answer is that since the world and star platinum has similar speed, jotaro was able to invade dio’s “time stop”.

The anime was actually CANON ACCURATE. I dont know what the fuck they did with the ova, but its not accurate at all. Plus the sfx and ost in the ova made it way less destructible and exciting. The ova is trash you dont have a unique opinion

In the OVA The World didnt have much screen time.
Theory : Jonathan is Star Platinum because he's the one who can send barrages of punches first before Star. And also Jonathan swear that "Even if I die, my ghost still hunts you..." and he took that personally because he died and did not kill DIO at first so he have too fulfill his promise and to protect his family bloodline. And also they look the same and there is the references of Star Platinum back in Phantom Blood (Jonathan and Erina's marriage scene).
