  • Follow us in this first part explore as we venture in the depths of Haggs Mine in Alston Moor , Cumbria U.K. battling through the deep flooded levels and confined spaces of this abandoned mine to find the connection for a through trip And out via Brownley Hill Mine
    The Haggs Level was first driven around the 1730’s By 1852 it had reached the High Raise Vein.
    the mine was worked under the Nentsberry
    Mining Company (1895 - 1908) and later on
    the Lugdale Chemical Company (1908 -1912).
    The production of minerals up to 1912 included lead, witherite, and zinc.
    In 1913/14 the mine passed to the Vieille Montagne Zinc Company and was worked by them until the late 1930's

    Great video again. You touched on compressed air for mining, did you know there's a system to generate compressed air from flowing water and it was used extensively in Catalonia.

    Great video as usual, well done.
    Have you thought about having a large powered fan forcing airflow either from a shaft or entrance to allow you to explore places that you previously haven't been able to? Someone can likely lend you a generator, I've one in Yorkshire and you'll just have to source the fan.
