    To add to controller settings, so many "streamers" spam videos of "use this setup to get 99.9% accuracy" and "destroy your opponents with this loadout build" which is so annoying

Are you just jealous that observing streamers can make people get better easier? I’m confused by this bc either way, you learned. Maybe there are people like myself who just got into cod recently (mw2022 was my first cod game) and we dont wanna drop 2 kills and 20 deaths every game. That’s boring and is NOT how you keep new players around.

    What’s sad is cheaters kind of messed things up for the honest guys with true skills and made them do a SBMM format. It’s sad but Activision could’ve nip’d it in the bud so now we have sbmm as a solution. It’s sad as hell.

    • @smileyr
      @smileyr 7 месяцев назад

      The problem doesn’t necessarily have to do with activison. The reason why there’s a rise in cheaters is due the fac the cheat software and hardware are more accessible than ever before. Cheaters were rarer back then because the accessibility of cheat software just wasn’t there as it is nowadays. Today, they are cheaper to produce and therefore they are able to distribute it to more people.

    The "problem" is that nowadays the playerbase has more knowledge overall of the game so even the weakest player can hold it's own, that's why the lobbies are this hard. Take BO2 for example, it was one of the last CoD with "less knowledge" overall, not everyone did know that without "Toughness" the game was almost unplayable (yes, this is true, there was too much flinch without it that made it unplayable). If today players go back to BO2 you will never find a single class without "Toughness".

    • @tdawgsmitty
      @tdawgsmitty  7 месяцев назад +2

      I definitely agree with that statement but I would also say because of sbmm we never ever see those people with less knowledge. Back in the day the lobbies were so random and that is what made it great.

      You forgot that even in older games, people gravitated towards strong/OP weapons, perks, etc.
      Cod 4 you went against tons of M16 and MP5, stopping power and noobtube spawns.
      WAW was MP40, Gewher and again noobtube spawns.
      MW2 Models until patched, 1 man army noobtubes, ump can't remember what the meta AR was gonna go with ACR or M16.
      Dead Silence/Ninja in any cod
      Overall, that part hasn't changed. The base skill of a player has obviously increased as you'd expect from an old franchise, but then you also will not see those other players using off meta weapons unless you happen to get in a game with a someone doing camo grind cause SBMM will match you with people around your skill level and I'd imagine you are around an average to above average player?

    In CoDM (thank god), there is ranked and regular MP and, as a result, we get to choose whatever guns we want to play with, without the influence of streamers. However, there are a lot of people that are using the same type of guns, along with their blueprints for (imo) no apparent reason. There IS a streamer player base but, looking at my current player base, they have very little influence over the majority of the player base considering that most of the players I'm with still using things like the 'Traitor' SCAR-H, BK-57 and KN-44, vastly different from the weapon metas used by streamers...

    The big thing as well is older CODs only had few attachments and options, so experimenting wasn’t far fetched even for the casual players. Nowadays it’s almost a must to rely on a streamer/influencer that’s experimented and tinkered for 10 hours on one set of attachments. It’s really unfortunate but also the way the games are made now, you can’t just hop into a pub lobby or war zone without having the best possible weapons and expect to have fun or win. Sad times…

Why not let people experiment to find out what is good and what's not, instead putting up a whole spreadsheet on why x gun is shit and y gun is "META" . I hated war zone because of that, there was no variety, everyone was running RPK at some point. Same way they removed tuning just because streamers and some of the player base (amongst the millions that are fine with it, and other millions that dont even care whether it's there or not) have complained. It’s because the release time would be stupid for people over there if it wasn’t released earlier . I get it , I mean no reason some people shouldn’t get to play just because it’s 4am and they have work in the morning.. it’s not that big a deal imo..also everyone on my list got on by joining there friends that were on mw3

    SBMM should be based on how many hours you spend on game. I’m 43 year old dad and hardly find time to play after my kids go to sleep. I’m usually disabling the voice chat bc I don’t wanna hear trash talking.

    Without watching the video and just reading the title. I agree. Content creators and streamers might provide entertainment but they ruined the game. Now everyone thinks they’re going to be the next big thing so they sweat their balls off every game using the same meta weapons and perks every match. The game becomes so repetitive that it just kills the fun.

    there are a few guys i routinely watch when i run into something i am struggling to figure out like the Raids or tips on how to unlock camos efficnelty, but 90% of what i encounter is outrage farming and whinging about things that only 5% of the player base really care about. the guys i play with, we're such filthy casuals and no one cares about SBMM. If it weren't for streamers posting every other video about SBMM ruining the game, I honestly don't think I would have even registered it.

    Casual gaming online is dead in games like cod and the like. Everyone is a sweat and it's ruled out the casual aspect, in most cases, it's ruled out the fun too, becoming toxic and stressful.

  • @GhostAsakura

    tbh this hits every point of modern gaming issues thats pvp. theres nothing unique between most players, they all run the same classes and play the same way, and sbmm doesnt help anything only makes it worse.

    Streaming and RUclips ruined gaming in general they promote exploits and cheats in single player and multiplayer gaming, they promote metas and generic builds that every one ends up using. It’s boring and not entertaining. It’s makes it harder for devs to keep up with content consumption because you have unrealistic consumption of content with 12 - 24 hour streams and exploits which puts great stress on the devs. As soon as one exploit is discovered it’s posted and everyone is on the band wagon ruining the games and then where devs could be working on content now have to rush and focus on hot fixes and patches because the consumption of content is unrealistic.

    What ruined call of duty is a combination of trending gimmick(s) like battle royales, operator & other modern features. The flow of new player from said gimmick casually playing the game which encouraged developer to keep on repeating what worked (warzone for example which overtook zombies, multiplayer and now the campaign) without any drawback from their newfound cashcows. And laslty new developers who had nothing to do with the previous game, and are blessed with convenient technologies not encouraging (forcing) creativity
