We're in the thoroughbred business and mares aren't as kind and trusting usually. Your mare is amazing! Good on you and of course duh the baby is adorable. :) I like the setup with the creek jump. The baby will be Grand Prix in no time. ;)

Omg that is SO good for his mind and body to be out there running around with his mother and jumping that ditch with water! ^^ It's great to see people who don't coop their mare and foal up in a stall all the time. They don't learn anything like that. :) Beautiful mare and foal. ^^ I'd be interested to see how the foal is doing now! She would be 6-7 right?

horses that inherit the grey gene will eventually turn grey. The rate at which they grey varies. Grey is the same as what people think of as "white". Some greys havespeckled dark hairs (fleat bitten) . Others look more silvery. Look at the parents and siblings to give you an idea. But each year the grey will lighten somewhat with the mane/tail being darkest the longest. So to answer your question ... if its a grey, yes it will turn dapple grey and then white with age.

yes, the foal was born dark (black/bay) and will turn grey/white as she gets older

Phil Collins, I believe. It's from Disney's "Tarzan".
