The barn is going to be amazing boys! So glad you took the time to comment and show the incredible craftmanship that built all of that 200 years ago. *hugs*
Thank you for another build episode for your Holiday Gites. I remember with great fondness when I participated in a Gay hiking adventure on Corse, Mare e Monti. From Gite to Gite.
9:53 Something we did, when the only wood we could get was old pallets, was that we bolted four bar magnets to the base of the wood burner. Then you dump the ash and the nails are already seperated. No need to spend a lot of time pulling them before burning. Unless you like doing that sort of thing.
Haha we do the same! We only remove the nails of the wood we are going to use later. The wood we burn we use a magnet to remove the nails after burning :) Thanks! Have a lovely weekend!
Another enjoyable VLOG from France. You are so dependable, other VLOG’s seem to post whenever it’s convenient for them. I think you men do a great job and we always look forward to Fridays. Your progress looks good and every day you seem to improve on your way forward. The projects look ominous but you persevere. All the Best to you and the family!!! Till next week….Bob and Jim in Florida, USA.
What a priviledge! That was probably the most educational vlog u have done so far. The shed, built more than 200 years ago (i think Bram said) was an incredible construction indoors. Seeing the craftsmanship with the beams and the joints and how they were secured with wooden pegs (thats the english for the wooden nails you mentioned) was so interesting. Imagine building something now and then in 200 years it will take that long to dismantle? Great to see Nox is doing well and that Igor is thriving. Have a great week and see you next week. ❤
Thanks so much Stuart! The build quality and craftsmanship is amazing. They really did an amazing job and it's great to see it. Nox and Igor are doing very well! Have a lovely week. See you on Friday!
Igor seems quite content being a part of your family. So awesome that you took him in. Wow! So many of your tasks seem massive to me. And yet you handle them all with a positive, even cheery, disposition. Those beams look awfully heavy. Once again, an exceptional video in every way. Thanks!
You two are a force to reckon with. Who needs a recking crew it only take two extremely hard working Fathers. Man what a show. You both have shown the world. Any thing is possible with a vision and a goal set in heart to finish. What ever that bakery is feeding you two giving you the energy and strength. I need some. lol ❤❤❤❤❤
did not know that. Thanks, Scott. A wood pin is called a dowel in CA. U.S. usually it's a round wood peg that's hammered into holes to unite a beam together. More common for house constructions in Asia.
Something I particularly enjoy about your videos is your attention to showing the small details- not just in your work but a small flower, a sunset, an insect, a leaf or your dogs getting into mischief ❤
Yes the Barn is coming along nicely , the recycle of Timber , & Fire wood keeps you all warm over the winter months , here in Aus it's in the high 20's & the occasional high 30's , this year it's Hotter than the last year , sorry back to France , so nox' & Igor are growing which is good , are you doing the gradually interacting with Cat & Dogs slowly so you can all juggle up during the cold nights . It is amazing what looks like a quick, easy job. Turns out to be one that tries every nerve you have. You guys really did a good job on getting that stable torn apart. Can't wait to see all the space you will have for your work shop. I'm glad you saved the little bat, also the little 😊😊😊😊😊😊 kitten.
Hello guys, what a workload for you, Nox, Igor, the dogs and the wheelloader. Take a rest now, enjoy the warm woodheater and your lovely family and the love for each other! Feel hugged now and I send all the best wishes to you from Germany 😘🌞🍀✌️🐾🐾
Midwest family happy we got to go to the bakery twice almost three times. It all looks so good thing we're not there we would eat too much of that good stuff
I would have run down that road screaming that I was being attacked by Dracula had I seen that bat & I don’t think I would have returned until I knew it was gone! Great vlog today boys! ❤
Saludos desde Chiapas, México. WHEW! Lots of physical labour was done this week by you two lovely chaps. I'm with Simon, the quality of the wooden joinery is exceptionally well done. I'm glad you guys are going to use as much of that great wood as possible. Igor is a cute kitty, but We all hope to see more of Nox in the future. She's just such a cute baby. Saludos, abrazos, y bendiciones. ❤❤❤❤❤
Big progress dismantling the components of that shed. Do you think those oval openings were feeding stations for cows or other livestock? So much history in there; would be interesting to know the stories those beams could tell. Wonderful to see the craftsmanship as you pointed out, too. I’m eager to see how you can incorporate the relics into the new spaces. Glad to see you using the respirator! Hard to imagine all the toxins that might be imbedded there along with the bats. Nox is growing so fast; she’ll be toddling before you know it. Igor is adorable & should help with the mice. I hope you can spoil him instead of Nox… Great work guys!
Yeah in the original farm they had about 12 cows :) Oh I would love to know more about this place! Thanks so much! Nox is doing great! And she is laughing a lot so I think she likes it here. Have a lovely day!
In France, bats have a high level of protection. Legaly, it's strictly prohibited to destroy their "housing". On the other hand, I fully understand, you can't keep them inside your future holiday appartments. The solution will be to build them outdoor accomodation 🙂. They eat so much mosquitoes that you will appreciate their company. Thank for your videos, they always give me a big smile. Friendly yours, Auguste.
Well, as it turns out, that kitten was exactly what your family needed! Anyway, puppies, kittens, and babies! What could be better? Love to you all. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😊
Great vlog, you’ve both worked so hard. The kitten is so cute and it’s so nice you are keeping him, he’ll fit into your family well. Lovely to see Nox, she’s growing so quickly 🥰🥰
It’s amazing that two hundreds years ago they did wooden pegs etc. all those trees that they used and most are still usable. Glad Knox is doing well.🥶👍
Nox is not even 6 months so she is sleeping a lot. And when she is awake one of us is with her or she is playing by herself and we are keeping an eye on her. Thanks. Have a wonderful day.
So much work achieved this week and yet still a lot of work to do but step-by-step we will see the progress and that’s amazing. Compared to the weather here in Bavaria Germany, your meadows are so green. Impressive.. some days ago we had -8° so hear the lettuce would have been frozen. I wish you a happy weekend.🍀👋🌈🙋♂️
I continue to be amazed at all the hard work you both have done again this week! It’s nice to be young and have all this energy! Hope. You get to enjoy a restful weekend!💕……..lucky kitty who found a loving home,🤗🤗
You guys are amazing with how much you accomplish in a single week. Your videos are always so fun to watch. Good to hear that Knox and the new kitten are doing well. Well done on the handmade fire poker.
Always look forward to friday and a new vlog from you. You certainly got a lot of wood removed from the barn. I held my breath every time Archie and Luna were in the barn when lumber was flying around. I was amazed to see wooden dowels in some of the large beams. That tells you how old this building is. Igor is having a lot of fun and he looks really very healthy. Thanks guys for another winner!!
I love the name, Igor, you chose for your rescue kitten. I see he has adjusted well. How does Archie and Luna like the new addition? Do they interact at all? Simon, you created a strong, viable tool as the fire poker. Congratulations 👏!!
You’ve both made such amazing progress in a short period of time in the barm, it hardly looks recognizable from the original state it was in. The parking spaces are coming along nicely even with the huge amount of rocks that are hampering the digging. Hopefully at some point there will be a good project to use up those dug up stones (maybe raised beds or a cold frame in the garden or retaining walls somewhere). All your hard work is certainly paying off in the quick results you are seeing.
We believe it’s time to set an evening (weekly) for just the two of you. A date night to be alone and in harmony with each other. Life goes so fast! Enjoy!!!😊
Great job guys! Those planks that are cut rounded for animals to put their heads through to eat, would make an interesting feature in your gites somewhere. Excited to see how you repurpose all the old beams and planks!
You have a lot of wonderful wood to use for future projects, it's keeping parts of the farm history as well. The kitten looks adorable, looking right at home already. ❤
I am looking forward to renting one of your apartments so that I can take advantage of that bakery! The vision of a loaf of fresh bread peeking out from the bag gets me every time 😊
Respect to both of you for your stamina, and your subtle sense of humor, and your ability to be so diverse in all your activities. I absolutely love Europe, France and the UK especially...but European countries hold onto that classic architecture, and it feels more "homey' than the USA...so much of our country is that "modern" architecture which is OK, but feels a little sterile, and a bit cold. Great work, and fantastic results boys!!! The kitty is so cute, and congratulations on the baby!!!
Even tho my bachelor bungalow is in a rural area of California, the homes are all in a row for each block. The city planners have designed a boring layout. The landscape is dull and stale. Europe has far more fascinating layouts for family homes.
Do you know what the wooden 'wall' originally were used for? It looks to me that it was the partition in the barn for feeding cows when milking them. It is called a stanchion I seem to remember. Anyway once again a nice video. I enjoy them very much.
👋 Friends As always, thanks for sharing this wonderful journey with us. ❤ Glad kitty is doing well. You have accomplished so much. Darn rain 😅 Can't wait until your next video. Bye-bye ❤❤❤❤❤❤👋✌️🫵🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well done guys another heavy week my back aches for you😂 Nox looking like she is growing she will be crawling before long . So pleased the kitten is ok was thinking about him. ❤Take care
Well done guys, also do you have a name for your new cat 🐈⬛. Let us know. It’s good to see your cat growing up and getting stronger. He definitely needs a lot of TLC for sure. ❤😊
Another very heavy week, glad you are keeping as much off the origional timbers as possible, they will really help put character back into the apartments and give it a rustic feel so well done... Glad Igor is making good progress he is looking much better this week, a great addition to your family.. why the name Igor? Nox is really growing as well sure she is keeping you busy on your down time.. Have a great weekend and look forward to next weeks progress.. Robb Torremolinos Spain xxx
Hi Robb! Thanks so much. Igor is doing great already! Haha the name... I love Harry Potter.... Nox is doing very well and she is taking a lot of our time indeed haha. but we love her so much. Have a lovely day. See you on Friday!
Igor is settling in to farm life as a pet wonderful addition to the family - incredible amount of work - I need a rest just from watching the video -Love ya!❤️🏳️🌈🧑🧑🧒
@vangaze.. Igor is a must have beast on a country estate to keep the mice population in check. A cat that is a security guard for your property against field mice needs to be allowed to live outdoors and is not given access to a bowl of cat food all day long. A half cup of food each day around noon is sufficient. You may need to get another cat as a guard cat since Igor may already be too spoiled with kindness . . . ha.
Fijne week! Tot vrijdag.
If it turns out that any of your "keep" lumber is not worthy of interior use, it might make gorgeous garden or patio structures, work tables, even sculptures.
Rain is something I had a question about. It looked like you had all of the treated wood being stacked outside. If so, will the rain cause any damage to the treated of the wood? I feel sure you have this under control, but curious.
Are there any regulations in France regarding bat's, as here in UK they are a protected species and disturbing them with out the approval of the appropriate authorities is a criminal offence. Take care guys.
Thanks so much. We got permission to renovate the barn, nothing is said about bats. We've got a lot of them and we've got more barns so I guess they will survive :) Have a lovely day.
Pretty cool guys, seeing the space open up is amazing!
Thanks so much! It's such a beautiful barn :) Take care.
The barn is going to be amazing boys! So glad you took the time to comment and show the incredible craftmanship that built all of that 200 years ago. *hugs*

Taking out those old stanchions was impressive. The curly lettuce looked great...Enjoy! Thanks, Sam from Virginia, USA
Thanks so much. Oh the wood is still so beautiful! Have a lovely day.

I concur whole heartedly with everything you said.
It’s called a stoker or poker tool for chimney wood fire 🔥.
and eye am quite impressed that their stoker is handmade. So much talent in both men . . . such a strong team.
Bram's Stoker is already a thing, but are we really ready for Simon's Poker? 🙄😂😂
Haha Thanks! We like the new poker in the house. Have a lovely day.
You boys are working so hard...I hope on Sunday you snuggle all day and drink wine!
Haha Thanks so much. We do our best for Sunday evenings off. Have a lovely weekend.
What a priviledge! That was probably the most educational vlog u have done so far.

18:43 that little Igor is such a love bunny. I bet he will become best of friends with Nox.
Thanks so much. Igor is great! Have a lovely day.
Your choice of music is absolutely beautiful.
Ah thanks so much. Have a lovely day.
Igor seems quite content being a part of your family. So awesome that you took him in. Wow! So many of your tasks seem massive to me. And yet you handle them all with a positive, even cheery, disposition. Those beams look awfully heavy. Once again, an exceptional video in every way. Thanks!
Thanks so much! Igor is definitely enjoying himself haha. The beams are very heavy! Great to have you with us. Have a lovely day.
You two are a force to reckon with. Who needs a recking crew it only take two extremely hard working Fathers. Man what a show. You both have shown the world. Any thing is possible with a vision and a goal set in heart to finish. What ever that bakery is feeding you two giving you the energy and strength. I need some. lol ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! We just love what we do :) Sometimes a bit too much haha. Have a lovely day!
Wooden nails are called trunnels in American barn construction
Thanks so much! We had no idea. Have a wonderful weekend.
did not know that. Thanks, Scott.
A wood pin is called a dowel in CA. U.S. usually it's a round wood peg that's hammered into holes to unite a beam together. More common for house constructions in Asia.

@vangaze I think when you show the loaf of bread on your way home from the bakery. That’s a moment. Love you guyz!! ❤
Yes the Barn is coming along nicely , the recycle
of Timber , & Fire wood
keeps you all warm over
the winter months , here
in Aus it's in the high 20's & the occasional
high 30's , this year it's
Hotter than the last
year , sorry back to France , so nox' & Igor
are growing which is
good , are you doing the
gradually interacting with Cat & Dogs slowly
so you can all juggle up
during the cold nights .
I am thinking you will have to build another
barn to keep the
Timber dry , hahahaha .
Until next week have fun
you will like that 😜😜love from Melbourne Australia 🦘🦘🐨🐨🐊
It is amazing what looks like a quick, easy job. Turns out to be one that tries every nerve you have.
You guys really did a good job on getting that stable torn apart. Can't wait to see all the space you will have for your work shop. I'm glad you saved the little bat, also the little 😊😊😊😊😊😊 kitten.
Thanks so much! The barn is so beautiful now everything is almost out. Have a lovely day. Take care.
You lads are indefatigable, with all the energy and enthusiasm of youth! Really appreciate your regular posting.
Thanks so much! Great to have you with us. Take care.
You guys continue to amaze me with all of your hard work and raising your little girl. Keep up the good work!🙂
Thanks so much! Great to have you with us. Have a lovely day!
Thanks so much! We love cuddling by the wood burner :) Have a wonderful day :) See you on Friday.
I would have run down that road screaming that I was being attacked by Dracula had I seen that bat & I don’t think I would have returned until I knew it was gone! Great vlog today boys! ❤
Haha they won't hurt you, he was just searching for a place to sleep:) Have a lovely day.
@vangaze ❤
I hope you can spoil him instead of Nox…
Great work guys!
Yeah in the original farm they had about 12 cows :) Oh I would love to know more about this place! Thanks so much! Nox is doing great! And she is laughing a lot so I think she likes it here. Have a lovely day!
Igor is looking much better. You can tell he's happy because he was making biscuits on Simon's arm. 😻
Haha he is so cute! Thanks!
Thanks so much! Igor is so cute :) Have a wonderful day. See you on Friday!
The cleared space is gigantic! ❤ we like that 😉🤗🤗 have a great week.
Thanks so much. We love the barn! Have a lovely day.
It’s amazing that two hundreds years ago they did wooden pegs etc. all those trees that they used and most are still usable. Glad Knox is doing well.🥶👍
It's amazing isn't it, all those amazing beams. Nox is the best and doing so well! Thanks. Take care.
Who’s looking after that gorgeous baby? My memories with my children are that we were glued at the hip?
Nox is not even 6 months so she is sleeping a lot. And when she is awake one of us is with her or she is playing by herself and we are keeping an eye on her. Thanks. Have a wonderful day.

Thanks so much. Haha Igor does have a pretty good life I guess. Have a lovely day.
The oval section of wood where the cows put their heads through , wood great on a wall with a mirror behind it
Thanks so much! Oh I've had so many ideas with them already haha. Have a wonderful day.
Great to see you guys!
great to have you with us! Take care.
I love the name, Igor, you chose for your rescue kitten. I see he has adjusted well. How does Archie and Luna like the new addition? Do they interact at all? Simon, you created a strong, viable tool as the fire poker. Congratulations 👏!!
Thanks so much. Igor is doing great! Haha the dogs are not very fond of him yet. Have a lovely day!
You’ve both made such amazing progress in a short period of time in the barm, it hardly looks recognizable from the original state it was in. Hopefully at some point there will be a good project to use up those dug up stones (maybe raised beds or a cold frame in the garden or retaining walls somewhere). Thanks so much! The barn is changing quite dramatically in de last few weeks. But we are having a lot of fun doing it:) Have a lovely day!
We believe it’s time to set an evening (weekly) for just the two of you. A date night to be alone and in harmony with each other. Life goes so fast! Enjoy!!!😊
I think that too but there is just so much to do! Haha. thanks so much! Have a lovely weekend!
@vangaze How about one night per month??? You’ll be rejuvenated. Maybe the date of your anniversary but monthly?
Great video guys, such a lovely sunrise, so pleased Nox is doing well.
Thanks so much. Nox is doing great! Have a lovely weekend.
Great seeing you guys online this week! Wishing you guys and Nox a wonderful weekend! Rick. Augusta Ga.

Thanks so much. Tbh I don't even know myself sometimes. It's pretty busy haha. Have a lovely day!
Amazing what you can do.
Ah thanks so much. Have a lovely weekend.
Great job guys! Those planks that are cut rounded for animals to put their heads through to eat, would make an interesting feature in your gites somewhere. Excited to see how you repurpose all the old beams and planks!

Still, nothing but love for you guys and your family!!!!
Thanks so much! Have a lovely weekend.

The barn is looking really good - and so is Igor 👍
Haha Igor is so cute. Thanks so much!
You have a lot of wonderful wood to use for future projects, it's keeping parts of the farm history as well. The kitten looks adorable, looking right at home already. ❤
Yeah the beams are amazing! Igor is so cute:) have a lovely weekend.
"lucky" Igor is lucky to be alive and very lucky to have chosen you two guys. Don't feed him too much. Keep him a bit hungry to get thos mice!
Haha Thanks. He has to become strong and then he can chase mice :) Have a wonderful day.
You guys are amazing
Thanks so much! Take care.

@vangaze You both are very welcome!
Awesome progress! Looking forward to seeing the project takes shape!
Thanks so much! Take care.
Do you know what the wooden 'wall' originally were used for? It looks to me that it was the partition in the barn for feeding cows when milking them. It is called a stanchion I seem to remember. Anyway once again a nice video. I enjoy them very much.
Thanks so much! Yeah it was exactly that :) The cows had their heads through that wall. Have a wonderful day.
👋 Friends
As always, thanks for sharing this wonderful journey with us. ❤

Yeah we've been thinking about that too! Thanks!
Well done guys another heavy week my back aches for you😂

Smart kitty knowing where to get good human parents! Wonder how him and siblings decided whom goes to which house? Ha hahaha; rock paper scissors?
Haha idk but I think Igor won. Thanks!
Very heavy work this week. Wishing you continued success in all your endeavors. Nox is doing great! Love seeing the progress every week.
Thanks so much! Nox is doing so well! Have a lovely weekend.
Well done guys, also do you have a name for your new cat 🐈⬛. Let us know. It’s good to see your cat growing up and getting stronger. He definitely needs a lot of TLC for sure. ❤😊
Bram and Simon call the cat Igor. Every country estate needs a cat to keep the mice in check.
Thanks so much. It's Igor :) Have a lovely day!
I am a big Harry Potter fan as well 😀
Igor is settling in to farm life as a pet wonderful addition to the family - incredible amount of work - I need a rest just from watching the video -Love ya!❤️🏳️🌈🧑🧑🧒
Ah thanks so much for the kind words. Igor is so cute haha. Have a lovely weekend!
Would love tobe let loose in your bakery. Great video chaps, lots achieved and more to go. With you all the way.
The bakery is so great! Thanks so much. Have a lovely weekend.
You named the cat Igor I love it……..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! Igor is doing amazing!
@vangaze.. Igor is a must have beast on a country estate to keep the mice population in check. A cat that is a security guard for your property against field mice needs to be allowed to live outdoors and is not given access to a bowl of cat food all day long. A half cup of food each day around noon is sufficient.
You may need to get another cat as a guard cat since Igor may already be too spoiled with kindness . . . ha.
Haha Igor is way too spoiled already!
You daughter & Baby kitten can grow up together. Cheers from Canada
Yeah I like that a lot! Take care.
Hi guys,
Greetings from Florida. I discovered your channel today and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing your work. Stay warm if you can😊
jullie video s zit altijd goed in mekaar heel leuk
Dankjewel! Fijn weekend!
@ fijn weekend
Beacareful for work..im watching your video always
Watching from Philippines🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰
Thanks so much for watching and being with us. Have a lovely day.
Verbaas me erover dar Bram heel veel met blote handen doet.
Hello again from sunny Fremantle in Perth.
Hi! Thanks for being with us! Take care.
Goedemorgen mannen!
Fijne week! Tot vrijdag.
Going really good. So more luck with work and your equipment in the next while.
Thanks so much! Have a lovely weekend.
Some come out of the closet , you guys come out of the barn!
Haha Yeah we do! Thanks.
Guys, get some back support belts!
We need more abs :) The best back support belts. Thanks!
Please save the bats!!!
Haha we do our best to keep some places quiet for them :) but we are not taking them as pets. Take care.
If it turns out that any of your "keep" lumber is not worthy of interior use, it might make gorgeous garden or patio structures, work tables, even sculptures.
We have a lot of beams but I would love to have even more and more to use everywhere! Thanks so much. Take care.
That wall at 3:13 is crazy cool! What caused the wood to rot so much?
Oh we love the stone walls. Mostly leakages caused the rot... Have a lovely weekend.
prior owner got too old to repair the leaking roof.
Yes it is a poker. Simon.
Haha a poker! Thanks.
and handmade. The men have so many skills.
Barn cat, huh? Igor looks well on the way to house cat as well.
Haha I'm thinking the same. he likes it a lot to be fed and walking through the house. Have a wonderful day.
Those heavy bad beams will make great firewood.
Thanks! They really do! Half a beam a day and the whole house is warm haha.
How far is the bakery from the farm? How far is from the town? How far is next neighbor from the farm?
the village with bakery is only 5 min away (by car) Thanks :)
Fijn weekend!
Rain is something I had a question about. It looked like you had all of the treated wood being stacked outside. If so, will the rain cause any damage to the treated of the wood? I feel sure you have this under control, but curious.
Thanks so much. A bit of rain won't hurt it but not for a long period. We are going to make some kind of shelter for it :) Take care.
