I section off my crown then the rest of my hair. I make sure there's little to no tension along my edges, hairline and crown area. This has definitely helped with thickness and retention
Since you shared this information in a video years ago, it has changed my life. My crown was always sore and I did not know why. Now I always work with 5 sections and it has never been sore again. Thank you again!
AMEN.... I completely needed to hear that about my crown. I had forgotten all about that part 😱. im struggling with Anemia so every little bit of info and reminders help!!. THANKS SIS! 👑
This was educational. I'm a guy with 4c hair and mostly do it myself (occasional professional braids or cornrows, 2-3 times a year) 2 strand twists. I didn't even know where the crown section is! Thanks for this video
I was all in the comments trying to see who would bring this up about the crown thinning 😂...the comment section never fails lol...education flows here too. Love it. I was thinking the same thing.
I just finished going through my hair and section it off and just braided each one and the center section is shorter than the rest of the surrounding area. Also finally doing this has let me know I going to have to do some cutting to start over again because looks like a lot of damage because of neglection and when you 60 you got to take better care because you dealing with more than you do when hair recovery was not a big deal in your youth (this is my experience)
This happens to my middle but towards the back. Can you do a video showing different ways to part it. Big sections. Crazy to think about but the small parts are easier; it’s coming up with big sections that seems hard. My hair is not no where near as think as yours. Thank you for your time
That makes so much sense after you said it. It's giving tension times 4. I don't think I would of thought about it if you hadn't of told us. Thanks for the information.
I’m sorry but this makes no sense. Our crown has less blood flow than other parts of our head. I never ever sectioned off my hair like that and it’s still shorter and thinner than other parts. I’ve even seen a newborn who’s hair was shorter in the back.
Lmao the crown is the top of your head, not the back. A newborn has less hair at the back because they spend majority of their day on their back making it difficult to retain growth due to constant friction

If it’s not too much trouble, can you describe how your braids look? Id like to braid my hair in a different pattern the has no tension

This is so disturbing because I part my hair in 4 and have noticed my crown is the thinnest and I’ve been so confused why smh I needed this sooo bad 😭

Thank you, Queen 🥰
If you have constant breakage, burning or itchiness at the crown please visit a dermatologist it may be CCCA.
What is CCCA?

I have long hair and it's a heavy bun. I have to make a 2 in one bun to help
Yeah, pulled my hair in the middle of my head out because of styling down the middle.

My grids suck cheeks 😫
Great tips.
Great video❤❤❤
You have good hair
Thank you
God why is 4c hair so hard to take care of.
I come across a new fact of what’s actually bad for my 4c hair that I’ve been doing for a long time like every week.
I do that separate my crown
My crown is so short I just portion it out to blend with the longer hair
WurrrrdDdd! And I bet issa cute mood!
