Pre drill holes, it will be much easier to screw. It will also pull wood tighter. You should really check that chain, it's very loose which is very dangerous. Keep going, want to see end product.
I built a pvc hoop house last year and used pallets for 24" sides.Breaking them down was a lot of hard work .(I don't use them for making small projects lol) I'm making a chicken coop out of pallets and hopefully a run too. At 64 working with pallets is challenging.
If you use a pallet breaker that will fix your problems a lot! Or a sawzall pry up the board a tiny bit and cut the nails off. Also adds a rustic look with the nail endings!
I built a 4 x 4 brooder, 4 x 6 chicken tractor w /wheels and and a 4 x 6 raised coop with a 4 x6 run in front and under it before tackling a 8 x 16 predator proof run. I'm all for using those to make it easier but can't afford them.Thanks!
Omg thank you for the Dad joke ! I actually have some and it might help me keep the pallets stable . Im building it by myself ...I bought some by mistake but It just might help
This was great to watch! Funny and helpful. So glad I found this! I’m going to be building a coop soon and this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
I made raised coop with pallets as well last year. Exactly the same way… but I dug the two on pallets on the side deep into the ground. And at the base I used a waterproof insulation board which slides in and out for general cleaning. Then just added two hinges doors on front made with feather edged boards. Great minds think alike ha Edit: However I soon realised that there was a red mite infestation in the wooden coop. I had to pressure wash and steam clean to kills all the mites. Then apply mite killing spray. Finally applied coat of DE powder sludge in every exposed surface and corner to stop mites from feeding on chickens at night. Will re-wash and apply sludge in the summer again. Its only effective when it’s dry.
Well I’ve been keeping for 15 years now but am trying to replace an old 4’x4’ I got from s neighbor that was done with it. I could still spruce it up and use it as a brooder though.
I hope you guys enjoy! It was fun to build! More coming! And more FISHING CONTENT COMING AFTER THIS!
Dad got jokes!! 😂😂😂 can’t wait to see the finishing product!
Haha right!?? I can’t wait either. Should be good!!

You guys on Long Island? I am too, working on a 6’x6’ coop now.
That’s awesome! When do you plan on getting your chickens?

Where part 2? Wanna see the finished product.
