I'll try to add some things to what you read in that article. Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and has the line "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". If you have not seen it yet, "Deja Vu" is a must-watch. It is a masterpiece.

Everything here is a metaphor. Gahyeon in Boca is bleeding gold, like losing her innocence, because of all the terrible things she is hearing. For many of their music videos, there are separate choreography videos. I am SURE that you will really enjoy those! These ladies are each AMAZING alone, so they are absolutely World-Class when they are together! There are some solo songs and solo choreography videos for a few of the members. Siyeon is the Main Vocalist (referring to the position in all K-Pop groups, 'Main' is supposed to mean that one is 'the best vocalist in the group' and 'Lead' vocalist would mean they are not quite as good as the 'main'; it doesn't matter because DreamCatcher are all GREAT all the way around, so the separate positions don't even matter to me. They are themselves and this is what they do). Anyway, Siyeon covered the song 'Speechless' from the live-action film Alladin (2019). Even before that, Siyeon has a few different versions of her own original song, Paradise. Yoohyeon also has some song covers. SuA can also sing but really she LOVES to dance! She is the 'Main' dancer and I would say that makes her the best all-around athlete in the group (but Handong is the strongest by pure muscle). SuA has done dance covers alone and with the group and she has even choreographed some of their stuff! Dami has some cover songs/ rap. As for getting to know the individual members, check out an awesome fan channel called Insomnicsy; they have videos for each separate member on that channel (the 'This Is' series, just put in the specific name of the lady you want to check out in DreamCatcher; their names are JiU [she is the oldest member and the leader/ 'mom' of the group], SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami and Gahyeon [the youngest member or maknae]) and they have another 'This Is' video for the entire group put together (once you are done with the videos for the ladies separately), for 2020. There are a little of "official" lore and some that it's more open to interpretation. From the official, Dystopia trilogy talks about the responsible use of language and how the bad words can have terrible consequences, more specifically hate comments used online and cyberbullying (something that idols especially experiment and which hasn't change too much even with the tragic consequences). The lyrics are specially important in this series to understand them * As an extra fact, DC participated in a campaign to stop online hate towards artists. On Scream, this is shown by the witch hunting concept, where one person could accuse someone innocent and everyone will jump out on the hate bandwagon. JiU saying she doesn't understand why everyone is hating on her and how that's not funny for she who's suffering, Dami saying how everyone throw their words and then fake innocence when the consequences come or turning blames when they try to defend themselves, Gahyeon accusing them of hiding behind masks. At the end, they change from wanting to Scream to want it to make YOU scream, as if they had snapped, but that only continues the hate cycle. On the not specified on the MV, deukae girls are kind of like protectors/priestesses of the tree of language, which bears white fruits when good words are said and black when those are bad
Boca means Mouth on Spanish and Portuguese. It talks about protecting you from the bad words that you receive but also the ones you tell. Everyone is talking behind the mask of anonymity, you don't even see anything good anymore, but to not lose more lives and stop suffering they'll make everyone shut up, as in, if you don't have anything good to say then you should lock up your mouth. Some say that Yoohyeon recieving the arrow that she herself shoot represents how the bad words you say come back for you at the end. Not shown on the MV but confirmed bts, the girls are fairies/goddesses that purify the tree through water, but that's a really painful process so you see them crying and upset. Some say the golden tears are actually ichor.
Then you have Odd Eye. One eye see the illusion, one see the truth. It talks about this utopia where everything is perfect, again like how everything online seems perfect, but it's all a facade. There's a perfect landscape, but if you look close you see the lie under the light. No matter how many times things seems to get better, early or later the cycle begins again, and everyone lose their hopes of an improvement. It's not a happy ending, it's a social critique. Even after witch hunting era has ended we still can see cyberbullying this day, the ages pass and the evil words still keeps appearing, and this will likely continue to the future DC MVs usually take inspiration from movies, mythology, books, we only have 1 confirmed on BEcause but you can see the influence in all their MVs, like Yoohyeon drinking the red beverage which open her odd eye similarly to the red/blue pills on Matrix. It's definitely a blackhole if you like those kind of thing, and they also have the "tradition" of releasing "Mystery Codes" before comebacks for us to resolve that give hints about the concepts, the date release, the lore, etc. That's why there's a lot of different interpretations in theories, because what you see depends on how deep you go on the blackhole and how much you know about some cultures (e.g. Piri is a korean flute that is said to be used on war to call for help, pointing to a rainbow like in Fly High is a bad omen, the girls represent nightmares on Nightmare series, there's so much more to say) I think you'll really like Deja Vu and Rose Blue. Not so dark musically talking but full of story, since they're not in any story arc and take inspiration from video games (they're collabs/OSTs), and are visually and musically ART Also another fact that I think you would find cool, deukae debuted on a Friday 13th, the official colors are those of a lunar eclipse, we have official robes in the fandom and our lightstick is a scepter (and also the longest lightstick in kpop), so we are basically a cult. Oh, and the lightstick is called puppy in Korean (mongmongie) because the girls are sunshines offstage :3

Been enjoying your Dreamcatcher reactions. I’ve seen you’ve titled some of your videos as “dancer reacts”. You are in for a treat, as Dreamcatcher is one of the best choreographed and danced groups in kpop. They have a large collection of dance practices, cover dances and relay dances on RUclips. All of them excellent. Their main choreographer is Hwang Sooyeon who usually dances with the backup dances when they perform. And Sua, who is the main dancer also does some choreo. I’d suggest checking out their song Red Sun that has a MV that Sua choreographed.

Personally, Dami’s rap in Boca is a ‘big paradox’ or contradiction, especially in the second rap. She tells us she’ll set us free, and then tells us to lock the door. When linking this to the chorus, this tells us the irony of speaking up against the hate. There is a lot of hate speech on- and off-line. Yet, no one really addresses them. And even if they do, nothing changes that nature (if anything, more hate and conflict occur). When they were not able to ‘find Utopia’, it is telling us not to find it, but to create it. People escape reality of pain and torment and rely on technology to search the happy alternative, only to realize it is not what they believe it to be. Odd Eye wants us to open our eyes to the ‘dystopian’ world around us, accept it, and reform it, rather than running from it.

They are rookies (debuted this year) and I personally think they are really underrated. You should check out Wings (debut), Let me know, Addicted and Bewitched. I love it when bloggers completely miss the meaning of Dreamcatcher's songs. This Sanchez person is really a piece of work. Scream and Boca are about online hate but Odd Eye is warning about the corruption of language through the efforts of the politically correct and the cancel culture to 'purify' the English language. Words become forbidden, change their meaning or lose meaning completely when hidden behind euphemisms that can't possible offend anyone, because they mean nothing. Prison camp becomes concentration camp becomes re-education camp. The Korean mythology behind the 'odd eye' (having two eyes of different colors) is that the odd one, for Koreans anything not brown, can see through all lies and even beyond death. They are simply saying to use your odd eye to look at EVERYTHING that comes over the internet since so much of it comes from giant media companies, news organizations, politicians, governments, pressure groups, corporations, and social media influencers. All of them intent on shaping your perception of the world. George Orwell predicted the future we're heading towards. Btw Odd Eye is set in the year 2099. The date is on the computer display that Gahyeon touches, and the Tree of Language is dead.

There are a little of "official" lore and some that it's more open to interpretation.
From the official, Dystopia trilogy talks about the responsible use of language and how the bad words can have terrible consequences, more specifically hate comments used online and cyberbullying (something that idols especially experiment and which hasn't change too much even with the tragic consequences). The lyrics are specially important in this series to understand them
* As an extra fact, DC participated in a campaign to stop online hate towards artists.
On Scream, this is shown by the witch hunting concept, where one person could accuse someone innocent and everyone will jump out on the hate bandwagon. JiU saying she doesn't understand why everyone is hating on her and how that's not funny for she who's suffering, Dami saying how everyone throw their words and then fake innocence when the consequences come or turning blames when they try to defend themselves, Gahyeon accusing them of hiding behind masks. At the end, they change from wanting to Scream to want it to make YOU scream, as if they had snapped, but that only continues the hate cycle. On the not specified on the MV, deukae girls are kind of like protectors/priestesses of the tree of language, which bears white fruits when good words are said and black when those are bad
Boca means Mouth on Spanish and Portuguese. It talks about protecting you from the bad words that you receive but also the ones you tell. Everyone is talking behind the mask of anonymity, you don't even see anything good anymore, but to not lose more lives and stop suffering they'll make everyone shut up, as in, if you don't have anything good to say then you should lock up your mouth. Some say that Yoohyeon recieving the arrow that she herself shoot represents how the bad words you say come back for you at the end.
Not shown on the MV but confirmed bts, the girls are fairies/goddesses that purify the tree through water, but that's a really painful process so you see them crying and upset. Some say the golden tears are actually ichor.
Then you have Odd Eye. One eye see the illusion, one see the truth. It talks about this utopia where everything is perfect, again like how everything online seems perfect, but it's all a facade. There's a perfect landscape, but if you look close you see the lie under the light. No matter how many times things seems to get better, early or later the cycle begins again, and everyone lose their hopes of an improvement.
It's not a happy ending, it's a social critique. Even after witch hunting era has ended we still can see cyberbullying this day, the ages pass and the evil words still keeps appearing, and this will likely continue to the future
DC MVs usually take inspiration from movies, mythology, books, we only have 1 confirmed on BEcause but you can see the influence in all their MVs, like Yoohyeon drinking the red beverage which open her odd eye similarly to the red/blue pills on Matrix. It's definitely a blackhole if you like those kind of thing, and they also have the "tradition" of releasing "Mystery Codes" before comebacks for us to resolve that give hints about the concepts, the date release, the lore, etc. That's why there's a lot of different interpretations in theories, because what you see depends on how deep you go on the blackhole and how much you know about some cultures (e.g. Piri is a korean flute that is said to be used on war to call for help, pointing to a rainbow like in Fly High is a bad omen, the girls represent nightmares on Nightmare series, there's so much more to say)
I think you'll really like Deja Vu and Rose Blue. Not so dark musically talking but full of story, since they're not in any story arc and take inspiration from video games (they're collabs/OSTs), and are visually and musically ART
Also another fact that I think you would find cool, deukae debuted on a Friday 13th, the official colors are those of a lunar eclipse, we have official robes in the fandom and our lightstick is a scepter (and also the longest lightstick in kpop), so we are basically a cult. Oh, and the lightstick is called puppy in Korean (mongmongie) because the girls are sunshines offstage :3

A note on guides: The best guide I've ever seen is by Kraay Jay, all the basic knowledge plus they edit in the names of members you already met to help you start learning their faces. It is 42 minutes, feels shorter, Insomnia are enthusiastic will stick around every minute. A shorter very good guide is by multi serendipity, 17 minutes. You will hear about the "This Is..." series (This Is JiU, This Is SuA, etc.) by Insomniscy because it is very popular among Insomnia. It is a snapshot of each members' personality 7 minutes at a time (49 minutes total) without information about the group's history, discography, etc.

The Dystopia Trilogy more like a social critique to 'Language of Hatred' on the media nowadays, it's a bold move for Dreamcatcher to addressed the issue through the trilogy...'Language of Hatred' in this context could be in a form of Cyberbully, hate comments/ speech, racism and so on...in K-Entertainment, this issue is pretty serious because some of the celebrity/ artist took their own life after being bullied & ridiculed by toxic netizen...even in BOCA, the bridge part mentioned 'too many angels dying now' is refering to cyberbully victim that commit suic*de...

I’ve seen you’ve titled some of your videos as “dancer reacts”. You are in for a treat, as Dreamcatcher is one of the best choreographed and danced groups in kpop.
They have a large collection of dance practices, cover dances and relay dances on RUclips. All of them excellent.
Their main choreographer is Hwang Sooyeon who usually dances with the backup dances when they perform. And Sua, who is the main dancer also does some choreo. I’d suggest checking out their song Red Sun that has a MV that Sua choreographed.

Personally, Dami’s rap in Boca is a ‘big paradox’ or contradiction, especially in the second rap. She tells us she’ll set us free, and then tells us to lock the door. When linking this to the chorus, this tells us the irony of speaking up against the hate. There is a lot of hate speech on- and off-line. Yet, no one really addresses them. And even if they do, nothing changes that nature (if anything, more hate and conflict occur).
When they were not able to ‘find Utopia’, it is telling us not to find it, but to create it. People escape reality of pain and torment and rely on technology to search the happy alternative, only to realize it is not what they believe it to be. Odd Eye wants us to open our eyes to the ‘dystopian’ world around us, accept it, and reform it, rather than running from it.

dystopia trilogi is just a masterpiece i am glad to see new reactors discovering them. you should also react to their b-sides they are all amazing but if you want to get your mind blown check out their full album the tree of language IMO the best album in kpop i have ever heard and i have heard a lot. there is also special clips to many of the bsides that is really good. love the reaction 🥰

From nightmare series is a long journey very sophisticated storyline. Their sound keeps changing and evolving and transforming every new releases great mix of the other genres but they always keeps the rock elements which is the signature sound of Dreamcatcher.

if you like Dreamcatcher, you should check out Pixy! I know their name sounds like they have a cute concept, but you'll see that's not the case. They are rookies (debuted this year) and I personally think they are really underrated. You should check out Wings (debut), Let me know, Addicted and Bewitched. They are really talented and their music is sick!! (their dance skills too)
Dreamcatcher is one of the top five best groups in KPop (Aespa, Everglow, Itzy, Twice). Odd Eye is one of the best KPop songs of all time. Their latest release is "Because".

I love it when bloggers completely miss the meaning of Dreamcatcher's songs. This Sanchez person is really a piece of work. Scream and Boca are about online hate but Odd Eye is warning about the corruption of language through the efforts of the politically correct and the cancel culture to 'purify' the English language. Words become forbidden, change their meaning or lose meaning completely when hidden behind euphemisms that can't possible offend anyone, because they mean nothing. Prison camp becomes concentration camp becomes re-education camp. The Korean mythology behind the 'odd eye' (having two eyes of different colors) is that the odd one, for Koreans anything not brown, can see through all lies and even beyond death. They are simply saying to use your odd eye to look at EVERYTHING that comes over the internet since so much of it comes from giant media companies, news organizations, politicians, governments, pressure groups, corporations, and social media influencers. All of them intent on shaping your perception of the world. George Orwell predicted the future we're heading towards. Btw Odd Eye is set in the year 2099. The date is on the computer display that Gahyeon touches, and the Tree of Language is dead.
