Good build brother. I got almost the same build. I was able to installed Win 10 and Catalina vie OpenCore onto the two m.2 NVME HD. The Radeon VII is natively supported in Catalina. However, driver for the Radeon VII in Win 10 has been a pain.
In the few months you have been using this build have you experienced any issues or anomalies such as footage being corrupted when copying or downloading? Also have you upgraded to catalina yet?
Thanks for sharing this Hackntosh build, realy straight forward, I love your style of presentation. I'm a dedicated duser of Hackintosh systems since 2012, a guy has built these beasts for me, I have enjoyed using the Hackintosh, it has served me well. I have never built a Hackintosh, yet you make it sound like I can build one now. I have searched for the parts, now I have hit a brick wall. Where can I find an alternative for the ASRock Phantom Gaming X Radeon VII? This is the missing puzzle in my Hackintosh assembly. Please I need your help.
Fantastic video! I edit videos too and have been grinding away with my 2011 iMac. The price of Macs are off the charts these days and wasn't sure what I was going to do with my FCP workflow if I switched to a PC. This video settles it for me. I'm building a Hackintosh!
(Typed on my 2011 MBP) Its pretty straightforward these days, but do your research and if you need multiple cores consider AMD - no it isn't the same as running an Intel hackintosh, but do you really need the distractions of iCloud stuff on a workstation? Your iMac will do all that. Though I have heard of people getting iMessage etc. working on recent AMD builds FYI - it's the sleep and wake from sleep that continues to be tricky to solve. Though again, that may not be a big deal on a machine that's working hard most of the day and night? Personally I'm holding off any kind of hardware investment until the geniuses doing AMD based hackintoshing make a tiny bit more progress, but they're very close now. Exciting times - Threadripper looks to give us the value for money, high performance workstations Mac creative people have been wanting for years.
Hello, I need a video explaining the most important settings in Adobe Premier Pro on Mac What additional software does Adobe need to run on Hackintosh or Mac in general?
You know that old motherboard and CPU will run Mojave or Catalina? Even if not powerful enough for a heavy video editing workload it would make for a very nice general office and lighter duties rig, maybe for a friend or family member. BTW if you want a really trouble free dual boot system I recommend one of those 5.25" bays that does hot swappable SSD's so Clover exists on one drive and Windows bootloader on the other. You make sure you have ejected your Clover/Mac OS install drive before you boot Windows, and especially before you run major Windows updates. If you don't sooner or later Windows is going to mess up Clover. It absolutely shouldn't in theory because of Clover being on the ESP, but it does! The other way round works OK as Clover is designed to respct the Windows install. However GRUB on Linux can also mess things up, should you want to triple boot. Nice video - thanks :)
How is your software upgrade experience on a Hackintosh? So long as your hardware supports the upgrade, are you able to do a simple OS upgrade as if it were a real Mac or do you have to do a complete reinstall doing all of the hacks again just to get it to work?
Hello! I really love your Hackintosh configuration, im planning to improve mine the same way. My only doubt is the MacOs Catalina instead of Mojave. Will everything work fine? Audio-wifi etc... i know you didn’t buold it for Catalina, but maybe you can give me an advice of where to look. Thank you!
Since making this video, I have updated the system to CatalinaOS 10.15.3 and everything is working great. I'm no expert at this either. I'm just following the guides.
No problems with it. It's a decent card. It's not gonna win any awards. The best thing about it is the huge amount of high speed RAM. But it works just fine.
Asrock cards seem to perfectly fine. I built a opencore hackintosh an it natively supported my rx580. Afaik the brands you should avoid when hackintoshing are sapphire and xfx
Could you please do a video about how you made your bootable USB drive and walk through the installation process? I have the same MB, processor and memory, but my system keeps blacking out during the install process. I am using integrated graphics until my Radeon 5700 XT arrives.
@@PullMyFocus In fact its Unibeast that makes the USB installer and Multibeast that does the post-installation stuff. That said I too would recommend following the various vanilla OS install tutorials available online. Tonymac is great with some extremely knowledgeable people, and some excellent written 'walkthroughs' on how to fix various problems, however if you do run into problems I've not found the forums reliably helpful - sometimes they're fantastic, sometimes you'll feel desperate for help and be totally ignored! I think many of the problems maybe caused by people using these automated tools . . . not necessarily by the tools themselves, but because using them interferes with really understanding what you're doing. Not that you have to understand everything - I've built five hackintoshes for myself and family, and they're all very stable, and I certainly don't understand it all, but there are some key concepts that are really important to be clear on. For example, while it's a bit scary initially, it's great to take the time to build your own config.plist in a code editor (Brackets is excellent and free) and hackintosh.gitbook.io/-r-hackintosh-vanilla-desktop-guide/ is an excellent place to start.

It has gotten way easier to make an amd hackintosh in the last few months but you should really get an rx 5x0 or a vega card. The rest should theoretically work out via opencore if you can power through it :)
You made it sound that your reason for upgrading you Hack is because the latest Adobe CC won't run on Mac OS Sierra. So why not just upgrade your OS to Catalina? It sounds like your current system is still beefy enough to run Adobe CC. I'm running a 6 yr old Hack with a i4790k, 32 Gb Ram and I've just upgraded the OS every year. I started with Yosemite and then kept upgrading OS until Catalina on a test SSD, but I've gone back to Mojave because the scanner drivers for my Canon printer aren't supported anymore in Catalina and Canon doesn't appear to want to make a new driver and I don't feel like buying a new printer just yet. However I do plan on upgrading all my computer hardware this fall. I've put it off long enough.
It's an extra four cores (8 additional threads) which is very important for rendering in Premiere and After Effects. Also, Mojave OS no longer supports NVidia graphics cards like I stated in the video, so upgrading the old build to it wouldn't work at all.
My build is stable. Runs like a champ, no errors at all. But I do think anyone trying a CatalinaOS build now should look into Opencore. It's the future of Hackintosh.

You can mount the old hackinosh and use it as to render all files as server hackinosh.

Most AMD graphics cards are compatible for your Hackintosh. I wouldn't recommend the Radeon VII anymore. Take a look at the AMD 580 for example.
