Who are the 6 tone deaf people who don't know what good music is??? This is one of the best songs that Marillion has released ever! Loved it when they played it in Chicago, love it even more now!
What an absolute fucking beast of a song....Like a lot of Marillion songs its an absolute experience from beginning to end....You feel the build up like an oncoming storm!!!
I know im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any help you can give me.
I can’t stop listening to this bass line. Especially in the middle section where it mellows down, “The way I love you” Pete Trewavas is so melodic and has great groove. I had a great time hanging out with him a few times. Super fun guy...
Some Marillion tracks are slow burners and some resonate instantly...for me, Power falls into the latter category. It's a gorgeous, rich, soulful track with an intense and emotional conclusion. While not like any specific Marillion song, it's typical Marillion in terms of each band member as an integral ingredient that coalesces perfectly to create pure magic!
Hands down their best song. Captures everything I love about the band. Huge credit to putting out such a masterpiece this far into their careers where so many other artists have long since dried up.
I honestly couldn’t decide on their best song!! I truly truly think I have around 100 marillion songs that affect me as much as this...Without a doubt the best band in the world xxxxxx
Fantastic as always they are! This song touches deeply you heart and take you into another dimension. Since the very first beginning of the band, in the early 80, they have been producing wonderful songs and simply they found the way to improve and reinvent themselves along these 30 years. Hail to the real KINGS!!!
Something special here, and even better when performed live. Really magical during their first Cropredy performance a few years back, and a spine- tingling moment when it started to rain just at the end of the song. Such a pity it wasn't filmed. You had to be there.
You carry me around Like loose change jingle janglin' At the bottom of your bag You don't seem to feel it though Because you swing down the street Walking that unique birthday candle glow In broad daylight, in broad daylight And you don't even know The way I love you You never knew power until you You thought that power was this scar People pass the laws in gold Seen our needs, emotional parts Oh baby, that's nothing You think it's kind of sweet The stammer and the tremble in my voice But don?t mistake it for weakness Or some kind of incompleteness 'Cause round about now I can feel it tingle tanglin' It's coiled up inside me And it?s ready to blow You never knew power until you You saw it fizzed in the over-head lines Burning steel are borne to currents Satisfied the vertical pylons You never knew power until you Saw it roll like a head with thoughts Or melting stone, a new volcano Earthquake, thunder, lightning, stars The way I love you Is something you don't understand The way I love you Took more than I could imagine, even now You never knew how hard All the time you felt so strong But now you can't function The wave of a sleeve Is the meaningless slew Falls away from your feet And the Universe uses It's light, streaming free Life will scream in the meteor shower Of this guided light Where you sparkle and fail From heavens fell Take each guiding light In in every hour, in every hour I know the power, power Listen to me My feelings tremble Am I feeling? Songwriters: Corey Woods / Sean Kelly / Thaddeus Birkert / Delmar Coward / Jamel Faheeh Cummings / Bruce Mayfield
Because half of these lyrics are wrong, I'm posting the AZlyrics version, which is much more accurate: You carry me around Like loose change jingle-jangling At the bottom of your bag You don't seem to feel it though As you swing down the street Walking that unique birthday-candle glow In broad daylight In broad daylight And you don't even know The way I love you You never knew power, did you? You thought that power was in a strong arm People pass the laws and gold Tsunamis and mushroom clouds Oh babe that's nothing You think it's kind of sweet The stammer and the tremble in my voice But don’t mistake it for weakness Or some kind of incompleteness 'Cause round about now I can feel it tingle-tangling It's coiled up inside me And it’s ready to blow You never knew power, did you? Thought it fizzed in the overhead lines Burning steel and bone to carbon A Saturn-5 in a vertical climb You never knew power, did you? Thought it roared like Niagara Falls Or melted stone under volcanoes Earthquake, thunder, lightning, storms The way I love you Is something you don't understand The way I love you Took more than I could imagine, even now You never knew power All the time you felt so strong But now you can't function Awake or asleep As the meaningless world falls away from your feet And the Universe ceases its light-speed retreat Life was sweet in the meteor shower Of the star-high divine When you sparkled and fell From heaven to hell And ten years grinding by in every hour In every hour I know all about power Listen to the rain You might feel a tremble You might feel it
The curse of any band which has had two eras, such as Marillion have, is to have the past blur the present. In my humble opinion, I think we just ought to recognize Marillion and Fish separately for what they are today. It's been 23 years and 13 studio albums...
Marillion continues to evolve, not settling for one style. A truly unique "single" and sure to become another fan favorite. This was just part of a really great performance in Chicago!
Have been quietly into Marillion since my wife got me into them when I met her 20 years ago. But it wasn't until 2008 that I completely and utterly fell in love with them! Well you've done it again lads. You continue to astound me, and I'm so glad I finally managed to be part of the pre order malarky this time around. Can't wait for the new album, and I can't wait to see you guys in Cardiff. You have broadened my musical tastes, and stretched me as a musician. I raise my glass to you sirs!
can´t wait for it Thank you for the in March in Hamburg know it appears that the circle closed. Your reflects everything back what I have heard in many years in your music
Saw the in Toronto...brilliant!!! Been fan from their inception (1982), brought many new fans along the way. Power is a great song, melodic, musical and deep. They never get any airplay, but seeing them live makes you a fan! Keep up the work...cannot wait for the new one!
three listens now ...well thats just great isn't it ..the songs got a soul ..I am singing it already. MarblesTeeVee...have you been listening to the right band ? and if anyone has any sense of self preservation and music cred ...dont mention the big hairy scottish DwD ..caus' sadly he cant sing anymore. Dose of alzheimers best thing for you !
I am in agreement with some here, needs the guitar solo higher in the mix. I saw them in Boston where they played Power. Great live...but turned to my buddy at the end and said they left the guitar solo on the cutting room floor. Live it so needed that emotional punch that only Steven Rothery can provide. Good song though, can't wait to hear the new album.
I'm not sure I agree with you. This song is nothing like 80's music at all. Listen to Ultravox, Wham, Duran Duran and Talk Talk and then tell me how Marillion compare to any of these. If any bands are starting to hark back to the 80's, I'd point to Muse. It's not necessarily a bad thing either.
Cont'd Recent gigs from Coldplay, Lucy Rose, Iona and the wonderful Nathan Holme. Also how many amazing bands have supported Marillion over the years; porcupine tree, anathema, public symphony etc. I love Marillion bit not a competition just love good music. See you Sunday :)
You are right.Marillion is much better than Coldplay.Marillion always tries to meke new things, new music in every new album. It's my favorite group,I've been following them since 1988.Thanks por posting and forgive my English.
Not bad at all - sounds good! Just keep your mouth shut sometimes when there is no real text to sing. (sorry for that, Steve). Thanks for sharing the song with us. Looking forward to see it live in 8 days! J
it's hard to compare or even compete for that matter the creative talents of Marillion & Fish. Both are phenomonal and to be biased to one camp or the other is crazy. Fish left in 1988....it is 2012....the divorce is final.
Marillion new albums are for the ears same than when you leave time making a good wine before drinking it : All these years pleasing us with their musisc and always better and better:-) Regards from France....Patrick
All sounds very promising and Marillion are deffo on form for this album! But why the title? I don't like it I'm afraid....but I'm guessing the album will be something special as always!
Very nice Marillion, but living in Israel being hit daily by rockets from Gaza, I am puzzled by what may come out of a song with such title...Let's wait and see.
does what it says on the tin.....two listens and the only thing I wish is that the last crescendo was repeated ...please do that live ..see you at the Forum
Good work guys, unfortunately you have decided not to you in e werk cologne into play. I can not see you, unfortunately, because only one sort is interior.
Lucky Man has a great solo near the end and also I am sure that other songs will include guitar solos...not every Marillion song needs to include guitar solo.
One more comment and then I will shut up! How marillion/Fish receive no media attention here in America is something I will never understand! Any reason?
Marillion = one of the thousand GOD voices.Amazing BAND and Pete is always "the architect" of the Marillion "Gaspacho". Hi to all the Marillions 'fans all around the sick world.... bixente
To be honest with most Marillion releases, this is going to take a few listens for me, but I know ultimately that this will get its 'Hooks in me'. Even on the 2nd play the goosebumps are gathering pace. Long Live Marillion..
A spine-tinglingly fantastic track appears courtesy of the phenomenon known as Marillion. Some bands produce wonders for a few days and then fade away. Marillion seems to be able to reach into the musical well and summon creativity at will, again and again.
Classic Marillion at work...every band member an absolutely essential ingredient here coalescing perfectly to create another unique, atmospheric and brilliant gem.
Meravigliosa, stupenda, bellissima canzone!!!!!!!!!!
I heard this in NYC and loved it. Great song! Lucky Man was great, too!
Who are the 6 tone deaf people who don't know what good music is??? This is one of the best songs that Marillion has released ever! Loved it when they played it in Chicago, love it even more now!
So if a person doesn't like what you like they must be tone deaf? STFU.
Music either appeals to you or it doesn't.
Simple.
What an absolute fucking beast of a song....Like a lot of Marillion songs its an absolute experience from beginning to end....You feel the build up like an oncoming storm!!!
Love the bass line and the atmosphere of this song. Pure Marillion!
Juhani Palomäki yeh me too! I love the minimalistic approach until the chorus n then it just explodes !!!!!
I know im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Jesiah Payton Instablaster =)
I can’t stop listening to this bass line. Especially in the middle section where it mellows down, “The way I love you” Pete Trewavas is so melodic and has great groove. I had a great time hanging out with him a few times. Super fun guy...
Can't wait til the albums out if this track is anything to go by. Roll on Sept!
Muito boa esta canção, Great Marillion !!!!!!
Божественное исполнение, обожаю его.
Marillion is making their music. Not what you want them to do. That makes them even better.

Hail to the real KINGS!!!
Took me a year to get into Happiness - but it the became one of my favourite albums. That's the beauty of Marillion.
I swing down the street day and night with this song....Love the groove... Love every note of it! Power rules!
Tonite in liverpool philharmonic they blew the fukin roof off
Something special here, and even better when performed live. Really magical during their first Cropredy performance a few years back, and a spine- tingling moment when it started to rain just at the end of the song. Such a pity it wasn't filmed. You had to be there.
The bass line on this track is phenomenally good.
Everything on this track is phenomenally good, but yeah sweet Pete!
Marillion transported me to heaven
Well said. I'd say same about me. My life would have been completely different without this unbelievable music.
You carry me around
Like loose change jingle janglin'
At the bottom of your bag
You don't seem to feel it though
Because you swing down the street
Walking that unique birthday candle glow
In broad daylight, in broad daylight
And you don't even know
The way I love you
You never knew power until you
You thought that power was this scar
People pass the laws in gold
Seen our needs, emotional parts
Oh baby, that's nothing
You think it's kind of sweet
The stammer and the tremble in my voice
But don?t mistake it for weakness
Or some kind of incompleteness
'Cause round about now
I can feel it tingle tanglin'
It's coiled up inside me
And it?s ready to blow
You never knew power until you
You saw it fizzed in the over-head lines
Burning steel are borne to currents
Satisfied the vertical pylons
You never knew power until you
Saw it roll like a head with thoughts
Or melting stone, a new volcano
Earthquake, thunder, lightning, stars
The way I love you
Is something you don't understand
The way I love you
Took more than I could imagine, even now
You never knew how hard
All the time you felt so strong
But now you can't function
The wave of a sleeve
Is the meaningless slew
Falls away from your feet
And the Universe uses
It's light, streaming free
Life will scream in the meteor shower
Of this guided light
Where you sparkle and fail
From heavens fell
Take each guiding light
In in every hour, in every hour
I know the power, power
Listen to me
My feelings tremble
Am I feeling?

Life was sweet in the meteor shower
Of the star-high divine
When you sparkled and fell
From heaven to hell
And ten years grinding by in every hour
In every hour
I know all about power
Listen to the rain
You might feel a tremble
You might feel it
esta super e poderosa canção expressa o tremendo grau de evolução musical desta super e maravilhosa banda !amo estas fortes canções!parabéns!
You never knew power, did you?
Y'thought it fizzed in the overhead lines
Burning steel and bone to carbon
Saturn 5 in vertical climb
slackjawgaze1 omg I didn’t realise these were the lyrics!!!! Love it even more now 😍
Это даже не обсуждается. Это класс!!!
Adoro esta banda, consegue ao longos dos anos permanecer com uma qualidade bastante alta, eu já encomendei o seu ultimo trabalho.....

Power of the marillion !!!!!
Gran frase¡¡¡
Ci sanno fare veramente. Grande gruppo.
Even without Fish are excellent,
power == energy / resistance. I got used to it. Eat more salt and vatch das blinkn lights!
Thank god for that. After the last two middle of the road albums, this sounds like Marillion might have got there mojo back.
I love this song! Reminds me a bit of "The Man From The Planet Marzipan." Another triumph for Marillion ! PLEASE RELEASE THIS NEW ALBUM ON VINYL !!
Wow that was awesome. I now have to resist listening to it fifty times in a row.
except Coldplay would never have such a great vocal performance.
Bellissimo brano di un disco stupendo!
Good first listen, builds and I like the snare and the bass... as ever thoughtful and well put together... a few more listens will have me!
Have been quietly into Marillion since my wife got me into them when I met her 20 years ago. But it wasn't until 2008 that I completely and utterly fell in love with them!

Niente da dire. Grande gruppo.
moi aussi, trop bon. Je ne m'en lasse pas depuis 1983. Après tu meurs.
Espectacular!!

Marillion strepitosi.
Bellissima canzone.
opera rock potente e profonda, un canto all'umanità, uguaglianza e rispetto, un canto al genere umano e alla libertà "Urlo"!
é exatamente isso ai!!!....yes, AMAZING!!!
I know how this will turn out. I'll probably hate the album when it comes out, then in two months time it'll be my favorite album ever.
Oh wow! How beautiful. This album cannot come out fast enough. See you in Oslo soon!
3 listens and I'm starting to get what's great about this song. I look forward to it and the rest of the album opening up to me as time goes on.
You cannot compare Marillion and Coldplay , its silly and futile. two completly different groups, both excellent in there own right
Great...reminds me of both Anoraknophobia and Marbles in bits. After Happiness that couldn't quite reach me, this touches me.
Marillion = one of the thousand GOD voices.Amazing BAND and Pete is always "the architect" of the Marillion "Gaspacho".
Hi to all the Marillions 'fans all around the sick world....

seem to remember that 'Sky above the Rain' was they were really excited about during recording. What a taster this is ....
To be honest with most Marillion releases, this is going to take a few listens for me, but I know ultimately that this will get its 'Hooks in me'. Even on the 2nd play the goosebumps are gathering pace. Long Live Marillion..
Dark, heavy, and beautiful all in one. A bit of "The Invisible Man," only more menacing. Can't wait for the full album.
Awesome track! I love it, got to hear it live in the recent tour in CA! Kelly ROCKS!

Switch off Caps lock. I agree with everything you say, but no one else will listen if you type like this. x

This is future tastic!!!! Prog 2018
I've never heard them compared to Coldplay before. Do people do that? They're in different leagues.
check our website for tour dates
I have been a fan for over 25 years, and i have to totally agree with MarbelsTeeVee...sorry guys
