Yes it is similar to the lead in I'm So Glad. You are right... Jeff Beck's solo in Shapes of Things was the first to open the door to the Psychedelic style (at least on a commercial LP) and the first to use sustain that almost "pushed the envelope" at the time. Good observation! Another excellent video from James "sounds so nice, gotta say it twice!"
Nice, thanks. Have you ever listened to the version from the Jeff Beck Truth album? It comes with Rod Stewart on vocals and Ronnie Wood on bass. You also get Nikki Hopkins, Keith Moon, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and others on select tracks.
Now that is the coolest shirt yet !!! Where did you find that beauty!? I have my parents record collection these days and that’s still my favorite record art of all time and earliest music memory from childhood….
Got the right guitar for it- jimmy says beck gave it to him but I heard another version the other day that maybe he sort of borrowed it and never gave it back lol
...and to me, Jeff Beck's tone on the solo is pretty much been the same to this day! instantly recognizable!
Always appreciate the lessons. This one of the only channels where I know that I’m playing correctly with records and live shows. Thanks
One of the 1st songs we learned as a band! Young.... Hi Strung adolescents .... Lots of Energy!! Ahhh the good old days!!

Like the T shirt. Most of mine are the Beatles or Pink Floyd. Wore out my favourite Hendrix T ages ago. Never seen it since. Thanks for the lesson.
Thank you for this!
