Personally, I didn't have a problem with that, if only because messing about with synthesisers can indeed be all about discovering new aspects of the instrument, and they know more than I do. I do think, though, that these gentlemen could try to strike the happy medium between being (a) engaging and funny and (b) a bit wearing. Still, they are not professional presenters, they are enthusiastic shop employees, and one trusts that, as time goes on, they'll get it down pat. Good luck to them; there are many worse people competing for our attention on RUclips.

@@cmikecs It can do waaaay more with patching, because patching overrides the 'normalled' (internal) pre-arranged connections, so you can re-arrange the Neutron's own voice architecture however you want. AND you can also use other compatible (in 1/8" unbalanced patch connector format such as Eurorack) synths to bring external control-voltages(CV) and trigger&pulses(gates). You can to use it directly with other CV gear in an 'open architecture' fashion, and so possibilities become ridiculously vast. You'll find a 'CV' and 'GATE' input jacks on most analog synths of every era. The vintage ones (and certain newer synths) often have 1/4" jacks, so a coupling adapter or 1/4"-to-1/8" cable is needed to use them with this. The operative limits become a)your imagination, b) free space-time and c) bank account. But just simply adding an analog step-sequencer (like a Doepfer Dark Time) along side the Neutron can do MANY musically useful and also strange things.

Companies like Roland had every opportunity to reissue and update gear like the TR-808. Instead they gave us digital modeling SHITE that nobody asked for. Then Uli said, "I can make that... and I can make it inexpensively because of modern surface-mount manufacturing techniques. The public said "yes, please" and Roland said "meh, why bother." Uli's racking up a small fortune from people who WANT analog while Roland is farming out analog to small boutique companies and stamping their brand on it. I loved Roland in the 80's. But now it seems like the kids or grandkids are running the show and could give a f-all about what people want.
Hummmmm sure. But there is an ethical side about this.... Uli is "inspired", let´s say, in the hard work of many other engineers and companies who have invested a lot in creating wonderful devices. If Roland doesn´t have the marketing vision of renewing their strategies..,. that shouldn´t allow anyone to copy their designs piece by piece, without any kind of shame or remorse.

Neutron deep mind and drum machines are being made by Midas team the pro one and other clones make by tc electronics in Germany. Neutron has bb delay and is PHATT!!!!! Also sometimes a little scary😂
Just a point here, Sequentials synth is the Pro-One, Beringers synth is the Pro-1... The Pro-1 is eurorack compatible and has additional CV patch points. You’ve now got CV access to the LFO, oscillator and envelope. I think it also has mono and Poly? Trololol

I know it's not the most important thing, but the graphics/decoration on the Neutron - really puts me off. I could live with the red, but not those horrible 90s style decorations. I just wouldn't want to keep seeing that.

Nice reviews guys. Neutron is the only of this kind. Compact desktop multi osc (2 at least) semi modular full analog for budget price. It dominates the market. The red color and the graphics are disgusting though. Who wants to have such thing on their table? However, it is going to be on my table anyway, nobrainer.

I watch these vids for entertainment, I cannot play any instrument, but I do love music and admire the abilities of those who play to a high level. Without the hilarity it would be as boring as all the other “techy” product reviews that can be found elsewhere on you tube.
The humour is what makes Jack's reviews/buggering about unique, if you just need cold hard facts to load into your biomatrix you can pour through the manual and listen to countless other no talking demos of the Neutron out there by now.. :)

Yes it is a matter of taste, which suggests to me this may not be the channel for you. Or go watch the Prologue video and see if you find that entertaining, that was one of the first glimpses we saw of that synth. I've had a Neutron for 5 months now, it's not like technical info and raw audio demos are hard to come by of it.

I think it's important to mention that the Neutron can sound way more cleaner if you patch it. You can bypass the overdrive circuit by patching.

I did the same. And getting two sample and holds, 2 lfo, two attenuators, a couple mults it’s amazing. No regrets.
