dan is so gentle while sectioning hair and cutting it, just like korean hairdresser kiu, most hairdressers and barbers yank hair so much
You’re quite remarkable, as a stylist extraordinaire and your interpersonal skills are simply brilliant. You always manage to give your clients more than they could have known to request without ever condescending. That, is a gift.
Dan is so professional he made some guided questions so the client decides for himself. in the end he didnt feel disappointed just because Dan made his own style. and that is a true professional.

Great job, working with the client to be sure he didn't go overboard in making a decision. He wanted to keep length and Dan's idea was a nice compromise. Now he can decide whether to go shorter, longer, or the same next time. Nice texture without lots of slicing and dicing. Just natural.

I like following your videos, and it has gotten better with the new studio, but I'm always finding myself turning the volume down. Add some accoustic panels or otherwise textiles or so to the room, would work magic :)

Can always do that in a few haircuts time if he really wants, but better to go down in stages when you’ve grown it to that length as you may never do it again!

There was a guy I cut and he literally looked like this guys twin. A skin fade-undercut into a man bun suited him excellently! He loved it and I really think this guy would suit it brilliantly aswell!

@@makeshift112000 Respectfully, I disagree. He was asked flat-out for a yes or no answer to keeping it long and he said no. Having said that, Dan's cuts are always technically excellent. I just would have preferred to see the transformation that I think the client was going for... He did end up looking great. But that wasn't the point. I think perhaps the definition of long has gotten longer post-covid. But to me, this was a long cut and even medium would have topped out at a couple of inches shorter. IMHO, this was not a long hair transformation as noted in the video title.

it's better for them to get less than more he can just go get another cut if he wants it shorter but if it was too short he'd have to wait forever to grow back.

Think he would look better with shorter hair especially if he has to wear a suit. If he worked in an industry where suits were not required maybe this look. I think he came in for a change and was not ready for a big one and Dan sensed that.

It appears a lot of men with long hair don't understand how to properly care for and moisturize long hair. Healthy hair shouldn't look fried. Lighten up on the shampoo, invest in a light weight oil or cream, condition, detangle, and repeat.
I feel like this in between length doesn't suit him. Keep it long or cut is short, it looks girlish.

Ya I agree. I like long hair. It's just his hair has this fluffy frizzy texture to it that makes it look very unkempt. If his hair was way smoother and more definition and he was clean shaven it would look way better.
IMHO the scruffy patchy facial hair is as big, if not a bigger barrier to looking "professional" and is the hair. I love how Dan interacts with his clients, but I would suggest he start giving advice about facial hair as well. If you can grow it well, then fine. But if you can't, it is better to shave it, at least what doesn't grow thick enough to look good. He could keep the stache, but the rest? Nope!
He totally needs a shorter cut, the super long hair doesn't do anything for him
