If he was playing as Joel at that time, that girl would be freaking deleted.
A.I. are a joke in most games, as an example, in tomb raider the enemies will run towards you when you have your gun out so you can easily shoot them down, one other example is that if you kill someone and they see it, they will stare at the body for quite some time before going on alert that an enemy is there. In the Game Metro 2033, if you throw a knife near an enemy or destroy a breakable light with it, they will literally become confused and some time later they will just say “just my imagination” and go back and assume there was no attempt of an enemy attack.

After playing through it on survivor, these are the worst AI I have ever seen in a stealth game. By far. They walk in the same patterns, spread out and stare at walls when alerted and walk one by one to your hiding spot without calling for backup to check if the mountain of bodies by you are just sleeping

That's what the game's about: Making you question violence, but it fails to support this approach storywise. Character seem to have no self-reflection and do not develope along the story.

So glad that Ellie still has her knife. I always thought it was incredibly stupid in the first game how Joel didn't carry a knife of any kind and instead just used scissors to make a one use shiv for stealth kills. I mean come on. You managed to scrounge up a pistol but not a knife of ANY kind?!
One of the many reasons playing as Ellie in the first game was my favorite part. And it was still terrifying.
Carrying a knife it's a danger, because the knife can get contaminated. Ellie is immune, so...

Ellie's going up against grown men, despite being a skinny teenage girl. So she's going to have to use every thing she can. Ain't no rules in a fight.

I did this method on my survival run. And then during the next fight area, i ran through the shop of infected’s and did a lap into the path of the NPCs, so they killed each other leaving me a couple of stragglers.

Bro the detail in this game is insane, the fact that the lady in the hazmat look at Ellies flashlight and thought it was one of their men and went to see him. And I notice when you hold someone on gunpoint theres ones that try to struggle, cooperate, or straight up calm. It amazes me.
The stealth kills and combat in this game were so unbelievably satisfying. I almost preferred getting into shootouts though for the epic music.

@@betraid This is normal mode mate. And every game has the dumb cover system, from GTA to RDR2 it's just unavoidable. And enemies aren't dumb, try playing on survivor without accessibility features, doubt you'd survive 5 minutes

Seeing all this done in one try with no HUD and such smooth movements reminds me of Long Take sequences from action movies. Very fun to watch - might be even more fun if games had replay tools to let you smooth out the camera like a director.

They only help in easier settings. During survival they are way more passive. There is also an option in custom mode to change them to fully aggressive/passive

Trust me, they get on your way all the time. Lost the count how many times Dina/Jesse/Manny, etc. got on my way and ruined my stealth. Playing on Survival and I find the game way too easy, thanks for incredibly smooth stealth mechanic. But the AI isn't THAT smart. ND still needs an improvement. Though, the game itself, from attention to the details to animation/gfx/music is top notch. Technically I would say it's on par with RDR2. Both games have their flaws, but still can't think of any game that would surpass the quality.
