In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the SU27 Flanker trying out to do a mission at night using the NVG in the SU27 Flanker by a reshade preset, link below, Hope you guys enjoy!

I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.
My PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
GPU: Geforce RTX 2080ti
RAM: DDR4 Corsair 3200 MHz 32 GBB (total of 4 sticks so 128 GB in total)

The amazing thing of Su27, Su33 and J11 in DCS is that you can leave the afterburner on all the way and won't need to worry too much about the fuel like the F16 or even F15.
That night aesthetic with the NVDs is great. love the use of the EO / IRST as well, such an underrated system.
EO/IRST systems aren't really all weather and their performance may change dramatically due to various reasons. They are more or less backup systems in case your radar doesn't work or provide enough info for you. They're simply not good enough to be used like a radar in air to air.
@@vczs obviously there are limitations, but they should not be entirely neglected. a backup / additional information track is always nice to have.
@@bravo099 that's exactly what they are, just additional asset when radar is not enough. They are basically auxillary.

The Su-27 series is just too beautiful man, no matter at what angle you look at the jet is gorgeous in a engineers eye
As a red blooded American, I’ve tried so hard to not like the MIGs and SUs. But man they’re so freaking gorgeous. And seem to be excellent.
@@Fl-Pride MIGs are also great, but the suchois are refined. Also the suchois are much larger. They carry around fox-2s as if they are nothing

Good mission, Good Flying behind the radar. But there would always be an AWACS in the area of that refueling. But I get the point, if they weren't to have one they would be sitting ducks from behind especially... Good Piloting!

These night missions are really cool maybe do one with Growlingsidewinder
The R27ET is such a cool missile. I get why the West never bothered to do a long range heat seeker - too easy to decoy off with flares, but it does present a good sneak tactic since the usual decoy (chaffs) when doing BVR fights means the long range Fox 2 can present a nasty surprise when the RWR doesn't go off & chaff does nothing against it.
With stealth fighters they'd never see you coming.
The West could today, put the seeker from a Aim9X into a long range Fox 2, with flare rejection capability- . and refocusing on Infrared only attack approaches, sensors, and missile seekers will be useful- especially since if they ever have to fight 5th gen aircraft, radar reduction won't save aircraft against infrared

Very interesting video Longshot. My friends and I have talked about doing some night missions for a long time, in the end we end up doing fair weather day missions - guess we want to see the amazing DCS graphics - the reason we all spent a lot of money on out PCs...so its kind of difficult to sell the idea of flying around half blind....lolz
Good job on teaching GS the barrel roll maneuver. Keep it up bro
I just watched GS' BVR video against the Mig-31. It was great to see GS give Longshot the credit for the maneuver. Definitely took a few tries to get it down, but by the end, it seemed almost instinctual for Longshot.
The collaboration between the two make both their channels better.

Very cool video, though it was sad seeing the B-1 getting downed. I wish you would have shown a close up of it in afterburner. I bet it looks badass at night with all four holes lit.
Dcs has a huge US bias
So much afterburner could not have had much fuel left
that was a Very fast intercept and take down of all 4 targets.

Thats a cool mission. And they got flanked. What im aiming at is that it went so smoothly, even the landing. And yeah, they dident get so much time to react. Is it easier in darkness? Bq this was ¹⁰/¹⁰.

A bit lomg landing. 4 white on the PAPI means you’re above glideslope.
Is there night vision in the flanker, or is this a mod?
The SU-27 should be able to catch a B-1B. Top speed for a B-1B is Mach 1.25.

how can you carry R77-1 on the SU-27?
Hey! I was looking for this comment. I really enjoy flying the SU-27 but I'm feeling a little bit limited fighting F16Cs and F15s, so I researched for an R77 mod. You can find one out there easily, but keep in mind the version of the SU-27 that we have in DCS has no capabilities of firing them IRL :( but it's great because this means you can give the MiG-29 a try :D
