Honestly, when playing the fanmade Explorers, the part from the sneak peak works well. The part in the middle of the sneak peak is kind of confusing, but the beginning is good It was just that it was out of sync in the sneak peak.
Of course, I don't want to assume this, but it seems to me that Rob can just cancel the level. Of course, I believe him that he will be able to complete this, but if I were in his place, I would probably start creating a new level for example for 2.3 already with new mechanics and blocks. Therefore, my assumptions are 1) Rob cancels it (writes about it in discord, which will upset the community) 2)Rob releases it in a patch as it was with the Events 3)Rob releases it in update 2.21 or after in one of the patches after 2.21 (if he said that it might not come out in 2.21) 4) Rob still moves the level to 2.3 by reworking and adding new blocks and mechanics of the new update (which I doubt) And finally, nothing prevents Rob from rolling back the difficulty of the level to an Insane level, given that this should have been his original difficulty before Dash was revealed.
I don't think they need to release explorers. The MATHisCreator version is already really good and there's point in rehasing a custom level instead of making a new, more interesting level.
As someone who occasionally comes back to this game in long intervals, I honestly really feel Robtop's pain when taking long to build levels. It takes a LOT of commitment to finish one. I have a level sitting in my editor page for years, it's about 80% done, and I still haven't published it! I haven't ever finished a level in my entire 10 years playing this game. Yet I still mess around the editor every few times.
Imagine if instead of making Explorers Robtop just add a shortcut in the main levels page that brings you to a custom Explorers online level
