That is a good price on the can. I looked it up, and it comes with the spout as a lot of them don't. Thanks Iridium for keeping us up to date on these kinds of prepping items.
Great Video. I have 5 similar red Jerry Cans and a plastic can for everyday use. When the plastic can is empty, I dump the oldest Jerry Can into it and then refill the Jerry Can with fresh gas. That’s just how I rotate it.
Late to watching this video but I got 2 of these Vevor 's about 3 months ago...they only had green so that's what I got. Havnt filled them up yet as the nozzle is so different than the screw on ones I've used before...so happy to see a video on these...ty!
I wouldn't have thought of storing gas. Great idea though. I have noticed a few times recently the gas stations have been without gas. Thanks for keeping us informed.
Great review. I agree that the plastic red or jerry cans do swell up. I like the price and the four color choices to chose from . Wish they carried a blue color. Cheaper and bigger than the explorer gas jugs. It's Friday and payday. Going to take a plunge and get the red and yellow one for now. Thank you for sharing.
Just tried mine for the first time. I was skeptical as it was inexpensive compared to my other steel cans like my Fill Rite. Mine leaks out the triangle breather hole in the spout as you fill with it. This makes its useless as it pours all over whatever I’m fueling up. My guess is my spout is defective.
can also be said for diesel, both have gone up in price here in central Iowa. I don't drive or own anything that uses gas or diesel so I don't store it. I also don't have a garage
Good, but when you were explaining about the "spout" you should've mentioned a recommendation on how & where to store that (when you take it off) so it is not laying around debri / dirt / dust. Like, Ya' should've just said; and just put it in a plastic bag and tie it around the handle. Something like that, because some people just NEED to be told - Ha! Nonetheless, I got one of these cans... and it's great!! 😉👍
I wish I had watched this before i purchased my gas cans that are plastic (red) standard made for gas atorage..I have been storing them outside in the sheds with extreme weather conditions...hot and cold...I noticed last summer they have been there almost two years that the levels in the cans have decreased...there is no leakage???so i am wondering if gas stored like this naturally evaporates, as i do have locks on the sheds and no one has been in their to take any of the gas????
I don't like the exposed seam, the original WW2 German cans and modern ones made by Arnold have the weld resessed so it won't get mechanically damaged when the can gets knocked around.
@@Iridium242 Thanks I already ordered one! Seems too good to pass up. I can see this easily being 3-4x that amount. Having an extra 5 gallons is the difference between being stranded and getting out of dodge. An excellent prep!
PRI G is what the military uses to preserve gasoline. Very good stuff, it can even bring the high notes back into old gas. You may want to look into it. Thanks for sharing.
Red is gasoline, Yellow is diesel, Blue is kerosene / jetfuel / M1 JP4. Army Green is used for Fresh lake or stream water (Not for Drinking). All other Colors are for anything but Gasoline (Non Potable Water, Automotive & industrial Fluid, Deer corn, milo & oats, Feed pellets, bird seed, Rock salt, Oil & liquid absorbents).
Here in the communist state of NY, we can only use red, blue, or yellow when transporting fuel on the road. In case of an accident, fire rescue knows what they are dealing with.
They’re down to $38 at Lowe’s right now

also good to add fuel stabilizer, makes fuel last longer.
100% agree. I add it to all of my standing fuel.
Bought this to use for mower and other things like that around the house. What do I do with the spout when not being used?

Yeah in the plastic cans it will evaporate some sadly
Thank you thank you 👍 😊
thanks for all the great videos
Can you wash out a diesel canister to put unleaded in please? If so how please? I have two like above but not sure what was in them-Thanks
Not sure about that one me, I would empty our all desei and rinse with gas, then fill it up with gas
No I was told by the manufacturer not to mix
Does non-ethanol gas need a fuel stabilizer additive?

I live in the desert is it safe to store in a shed even if it’s 120 outside?
Yeah I have, its never been an issue, just got to remember to be careful opening them and open them slowly

this is available to the public?
Or just rotate it more often?
If it hasn't changed
Red - gasoline
Yellow - diesel
Blue - kerosene(s) / heating oils
White - oils
Black is often used for oil and white for water...
@@MI_Prepperthanks, thought I was off a little. It's been awhile.
👌
they should make diesel fuel cans in the color of green and label the can diesel fuel only
Diesel fuel cans are yellow and marked "Diesel fuel." Kerosene cans are blue, and Gasoline cans are red.
They have them in other colors as well

In woke California you are not allowed to use a cell phone with in xxx amount of feet when and around a gasoline pump. LOL
I think mythbusters busted that myth that it will cause an explosion or gas ignition.
