Hire Slow.
Fire FAST.
If people are dragging their feet because they have become Too comfortable working for you.
Best to sit down after work and have a talk, see where there head is at and make a decision ASAP about moving forward.
Some people will have a reason, while others have just become Too comfortable and feel they can do what ever they want because they have worked for you for many years.
Of course there is the other employee too ?
Started recently and just does not seem to get up to speed with how things should run.
Same scenario as above to assess what should happen next.
Possibly not a happy scenario for an employee.
But it is a business, Not a charity.

Hire slow, fire fast. Yea it's able in perfect world. Impossible in europe where you CANT fire employer for no reason ( he is slow, low skill, he dont want learn something new - this is not reason to fire). So thats why the rest of the world is ahead of europe. And one day everything it rots, here...
