Secrets of the Petrovaradin fortress | Serbia

The Petrovaradin fortress on the Danube opposite the city of Novi Sad was founded by Prince Croix in 1692 to defend the Habsburg Empire from the Turks.
In 1694, the Turks unsuccessfully tried to take the unfinished fortress. The main event of the next Austro-Turkish war was the Battle of Petrovaradin (1716)
In 1776, by the time the main construction work was completed, the fortification system of Petrovaradin consisted of 16 km of underground passages.
The tunnel system includes barracks, armories, 12,000 loopholes. During emergencies, up to 30,000 people could fit into the underground galleries. Also, 2 wells were made in the dungeon.

Novi Sad was founded in 1694, when Serbian merchants created a settlement on the opposite bank of the Danube from the Petrovaradin fortress. In the 18th-19th centuries, Novi Sad became an important trade and craft center, as well as the center of Serbian culture in the region, earning the nickname "Serbian Athens". The city was badly damaged during the revolution of 1848-1849, but was subsequently rebuilt. Currently, Novi Sad is the industrial and financial center of the Serbian economy, as well as a major cultural center.

Не думаю, что кто то ходил до конца, если он конечно есть. Тоннели длинные и многоуровневые. Какие то уже обвалились.
