The night before class, someone on IG DM'd me from Stockholm recommending this song! I hopped in the studio really quickly because it was just too good of a song to pass up.
This is an all-levels routine that I taught for this Beginner Class at my "NIGHT OF DANCE" event where I teach 4 classes back to back. The song was perfect for a routine that anyone could personalize and interpret in their own way.
We did a showcase at the end as well!

Facts!
The expressions from the soloist make his performance so much more interesting, they were all great dancers but I was absolutely captivated by the raw emotion he put into it. I feel like it takes something special to immerse yourself that far into a performance and not worry about looking weird or unattractive while doing it because it makes it seem more authentic? I don’t know, I’m not a dancer, but I thought it was great! Props to all the dancers and the choreographer, well done!

I know everyone is commenting on the male dancer, but I'm just mesmerized by the woman in black. Her movements are just so sharp, and her facial expressions are insane evocative- this is the best choreo I've seen in ages.
(To clarify, the woman is Galen Hooks herself and I then went down a very steep rabbit hole of Galen's work- the woman is incredible! Also also, this doesn't detract from the fact Mike is also phenomenal)

I’m the girl sitting down in the back wearing a bucket hat. First of all, this is my first RUclips comment in years. The energy and enthusiasm in this room was insane.
The second guy is from Romania, and he said he waited 3 years to attend Galen Hooks’ class. We all learned this choreo for an hour and how he absorbed all this is just beyond me.
Also, I just really wanna recommend everyone to take a dance class if you can. I’m just a normal person who doesn’t have impressive dancing skills. I took this beginner class to challenge myself and I walked away with a courage to push myself to my limits.
Everything about this class was amazing and uplifting!!

It's not the best. There's many different choreography styles of this song and this style is far from perfect. Yes the choreography was well put together and it matches the tone and mood of the song, but that doesn't mean that the choreography is the best.

I liked the girls verson better both technically and visually. The guys interpretation was a cool spin but didnt fit the music and his moves were i feel more messy? Compared to the wonans. Woman's had the difficulty of needing to stay in sync too where the guy didnt have to.

Maddie Ziegler dancing on heels is everything! I have seen her dance on heels in Brian Friedman’s choreos and she has been slaying it always, but dancing to this song is something else. And Galen in front is flaweless.
I wanna know how can you dance in heels. It looks so hard and painful. I'm not hating just wondering
Just practice is all. Just being even more vigilant of your footwork so you don’t roll an ankle or anything. My whole life I was terrified to dance in heels but the first time I did was so fun and liberating. It doesn’t hurt honestly, but doing it every day in heels I’m sure after awhile would be painful.
It’s not that hard lmao (I’m a dancer)
It’s honestly pretty easy, but the jumps can become hard depending on how advanced they are, and how high the heels are.
I went to dance classes from the age of 4-14 where we’d wear heels and if you start on small cubed heels and work up to stiletto styled ones it’s easy as anything. I’m uncoordinated as heck but could dance in heels no bother. As someone else said, you just gotta watch you don’t roll on your ankle and dance appropriately (I did Paso, chacha, rumba, samba, jive and salsa, for rock and roll it was the dance sneakers and you’d have to sit out or do it barefoot if you didn’t have them). I mostly rolled my ankle walking back across the hall over dancing 😅😂

Interpretation is everything. I feel like the women were like “look out. We’re sexy, but get too close and we’ll be deadly for you.” But the dude was just like straight up mental (in the most amazing way possible). LOL. I love both interpretations. The five women really killed it. The movements of their bodies were elegant yet boldly sporadic when it needed to be. Their was so much confidence in their routine, amazing.
The second man, I fell in love with his routine. It was as if the lyrics was pumped into his veins. He had the facial expressions, twitchy movements, and passion. Both routines are pure artistry.
