Going back to my roots with an Advanced Jazz routine! This routine is SO difficult. Especially for me at 36 years old, no longer dancing every day like I did when I was 18, and having the most sedentary year of my entire life this year.
I had to do intense conditioning for 3 weeks to be able to dance it, and it was in the middle of teaching a brand new intensive, choreographing a TV show and choreographing a musical, so there was a LOT going on and I must say, I'm quite proud of myself for a solid, one-take pass at it!!
It feels so nostalgic to dance jazz.
Dance is usually very emotional for me, but jazz choreography of this specific nature (there are many types of jazz) is more mathematical/like doing an ice skating short program!

Completely agree. For me, it was watching how full the extensions were from head to toe. Plus, his posture consistently stayed at an excellent angle in reference to the camera. No little gaps where there shouldn't be any, without any sacrifice to his body taking up space. Beautiful.

All of the dancers are fantastic, but I love watching those wearing shorts because you can see the movement of the muscles in their legs - so impressive! Dancing is such an intricate and body-wide sport, and it’s just a reminder of HOW much is invested in everything you do!
Something about seeing jazz shoes in a 2022 routine gives me peace lol
For me, the simplicity of that look has the biggest impact in this choreo. Intense! Especially that look from Holden. 🔥🔥🔥
I feel like it's not the more obvious choice for a dance/the easiest song to dance to, but DAMN, it's pure perfection. I watched it over and over again.

Love how dance can be interpreted in so many ways. All of the dancers performed with more technical precision while Galen more so embodied the “feeling” of the music. It was like watching post modern choreo placed on jazz dancers. Love it!

Damn, everything Galen does just oozes confidence and power. When I see her dance, it feels like she's doing it because she wants to keep pushing herself and grow as much as possible as a dancer and choreographer in every possible way. The same thing with those that take her classes, it seems like if you want to take Galen's class, it's because you want to push yourself to an entirely new level. I couldn't be in more awe

Watching you dance gives me chills. I love how fast and slow movements are combined and the twirls are exactly on time as well as elongating and contracting movement. My mind is blown!

Dropped in to say: I don't know a lot about dance, but I thought the first male solo dancer was so so so good. The routine looked physically effortless, yet really tense emotionally. Phenomenal performance.
