I bought this instead of the George as we already have a Henry HVR 200 and this was a fair bit cheaper at the time of purchase (£159 vs around £230 for the George and got the Henry Pro Kit for £30 extra, both at Argos). For curiosity, I tried placing the Henry Wash motor unit on the regular Henry and it fits fine. This may be a useful tip for those who temporarily need beefier suction on their regular Henry as the Henry Wash has a more powerful motor. Our previous carpet washer was the original 3-in-1 VAX canister with "The only vacuum that washes" printed on the body. However, the motor now sounds like a hammer-drill and has lost most of its suction. It certainly had a lot of use over the years, unlike our previous fragile dry vacuum (a Dyson DC08) that was mostly held together with duct tape after just two years!

You'rd being misleading when you say "it has no agitation" when you described the fish tail tool. That's self evident as there are no mechanical parts. The idea of course is not simply to spray the cleaning solution and suck it up, but to work the solution in to the pile (thereby agitating) and then suck up the dirty water. This process is repeated until the water is clean.

You can use Simple solution in the machine but personally when I have a pet accident, I clean it up using regular shampoo and then spray the urine neutraliser on the carpet and leave it.
So I have just brought one of these and for some reason its spraying water out to the sides of the fin and not down to the carpet. How do I fix this? Is it a valve problem?

It would be cheaper to buy the George than a Henry Wash and the extra tools it needs. The Henry Wash is designed for wet use only, but you can put in a bag, add a filter from a George or large Henry and any dry cleaning tools you want. The George comes with all the tools you need to use it as a regular vacuum.
I need to buy a new carpet cleaner as I have light grey carpets. Trying to decide on a Cylinder type cleaner (handy for the car) or a Upright. I did have a Vax All Terrain which was fantastic, just wondering how well the cylinders can work as they don't have rotating brushes.
The cylinder or tank type carpet cleaners are much harder work to use on carpets than the upright models and in general do a poorer job as they don't have revolving brushes to dislodge the dirt. A cleaner like the Henry Wash however is better for the car, stairs and upholstery as it has more suction and a longer hose.
Thank you kindly for your reply, I downsized from a 3 story house to a ground floor apartment, so stairs not an issue. I got rid of the All Terrain as it was so heavy to carry up 2 lots of stairs, but now I'm in my new place I wish I kept it :) I did wonder about these cylinder cleaners without brushes so thank you for clarifying that. Although I have only 1 floor I have 3 vacuum cleaners and 2 handhelds, one of those is a Miele Revolution 700, not seen another one like it as although it's a cylinder it has remote control of the vacuum power levels on the handle and also an electric brush which you can turn on and off from the handle. Wonder if you have seen this model personally?
I think I had that model a while ago, but sold it. I still have a later version with the power head and handle controls. Currently Miele don't offer any power head cylinders in the UK.
I thought Miele had a lot of models but Numatic has a ridiculous amount of cleaners that are nearly identical. I don't understand their thought process.
Hi Roger ....need your help if u have time get back to me please. The suction seems to have gone on mine it was working fine felt powerful sucking up the water then just felt as if it had gone limp n it will no longer suck the water up??? Please help!!! Thankyou.
Hi Roger. (late to the party😂) I bit the bullet and brought this the other week (still unboxed) and was wondering if therecwas anything better to of brought that agitated the carpet as you clean? Do you rate it as a really good caroet cleaner for a small home that only has carpet on the staircase and landing with 2 small bedrooms. I've seen your review, and wondering if I've brought right, or should I gibfir something else in your opinion Roger? 🤔
It’s great for carpeted stairs, upholstery and car cleaning but not so good on carpets although if you only have small carpeted rooms, it may be fine. I prefer an upright carpet washer with revolving brushes.
I sometimes make terrible videos, so it's best that people watch them to the end before them thumb up or down. It's nice that people like the videos though, even if they only watch 30 seconds of it.
If you want to make this a wet and dry hoover all you have to do is buy some dust bags, 2 long tubes, 1 curved tube, a nozzle, the hose and the filter for dry use.
Amazon have some models but they are very expensive compared to UK prices. This particular one isn't available in the US at the moment, but the George model is.
Hi Roger! Love your calm, patient detailed demonstration! You could be a staple demonstrator for vacuums on the Shopping Channel! Here’s a mystery I would love to be solved: Why did Numatic’s founder choose the name “Henry”? Was it his late father? Or a tribute to King Henry the 8th? There must be some historical reason this is the name that was chosen. Had it been me, I would have chosen something with a “v”...like Victor!
Exactly. Thats why I adapted a Vax Spinscrub head to fit my George because that 'fishtail' thingy that comes with George/Henry Wash is as much use as a chocolate teapot.
Thank you Roger for doing a brief review of this cleaner. This is a new machine for me, so I'm only just getting used to it! And yes agreeing with your point that you made in your video there are some things lacking which the George has.
Thinking about getting one of these. I already have a Henry, so will the Henry stuff attach to this for dry cleaning? If so I can sell the Henry base unit on it's own and just use the Henry Wash. The only downside is having to keep changing stuff over to switch between dry vacuuming and washing. Might just keep the Henry for dry.
All the Henry tools will fit the Henry Wash. You would need to use the filter from Henry which will also fit providing you have a standard sized Henry and not the compact 160 version.
Hi Roger just a quick question if you Have time to get back to me it would be very helpful I brought a Henry wash today the pump seem to make a awful noise before the solution came out of the end once the solution sprayed through, it stop making it this normal! Thanks
Yes, that’s normal. The pump will be noisy before the water starts to flow through it. You will notice the noise again when you need to refill the solution tank. Never run the pump when the solution is not flowing through it. It’s always best to switch off the pump when you are going over the carpet/upholstery to remove the dirty solution.
as for the vents my 1740 George has all of them, as for the people complaining about the carpet washing "fishtail" tool, a lot of/most professional machines, such as those from Alltec and the like generally only have a standard wand, our ones at work do and the main one is not what you would call a 'small' machine (think more chest freezer!).
They may be effective in a big commercial machine, but in a small domestic cleaner they just don't clean as well as an upright carpet washer with revolving brushes. I may dirty up a rug and do a comparison test to show this.
How would an upright compare with manual agitation with a brush and then George extraction do you think? Obviously the upright would be less work but what about the results, and does the George have better suction and extraction than an upright?
I bought this instead of the George as we already have a Henry HVR 200 and this was a fair bit cheaper at the time of purchase (£159 vs around £230 for the George and got the Henry Pro Kit for £30 extra, both at Argos). I think I had that model a while ago, but sold it. I still have a later version with the power head and handle controls. Currently Miele don't offer any power head cylinders in the UK.
Good machine Roger but I like my cordless bissell at the moment.as well as the big mains one.
I thought Miele had a lot of models but Numatic has a ridiculous amount of cleaners that are nearly identical. I don't understand their thought process.

Hi Roger. (late to the party😂)
I bit the bullet and brought this the other week (still unboxed) and was wondering if therecwas anything better to of brought that agitated the carpet as you clean?
Do you rate it as a really good caroet cleaner for a small home that only has carpet on the staircase and landing with 2 small bedrooms.
I've seen your review, and wondering if I've brought right, or should I gibfir something else in your opinion Roger? 🤔
It’s great for carpeted stairs, upholstery and car cleaning but not so good on carpets although if you only have small carpeted rooms, it may be fine. I prefer an upright carpet washer with revolving brushes.
my favorite henry of the week and a lovely video
Gosh, how did you manage to watch all 22 minutes of it in less than a minute.
ibaisaic I think she meant that your videos are always great anyways she didn’t even have to watch it :)
I sometimes make terrible videos, so it's best that people watch them to the end before them thumb up or down. It's nice that people like the videos though, even if they only watch 30 seconds of it.
nah man your videos are always perfect :)
just a vacum
Thank you Roger what a wonderful man
Hudson loves your videos. Thanks
If you want to make this a wet and dry hoover all you have to do is buy some dust bags, 2 long tubes, 1 curved tube, a nozzle, the hose and the filter for dry use.
I have rrr:’
The two exhaust vent on the side they have always been like that
Thank u for such a clear demo i think i will get a george instead. X

Thanks. 💐
Can I use it as an ordinary vacuum cleaner?
Yes, but you need to buy a filter, bags and cleaning tools for dry use. Get a Numatic George if you want to use it as a regular vacuum too.
Nice Video. I think George still beats this cleaner for wet use and versatility. Also I do like your new kitchen floor...
Do a video with this vs a george
Where are Henry’s available for the US?
Amazon have some models but they are very expensive compared to UK prices. This particular one isn't available in the US at the moment, but the George model is.
About 400 US dollars including shipping, but you will need to get an adapter for the electric plug.
I believe all the names were based on Kings or other members of the Royal Family, but other names have crept in over the years.

@@mdahmed6213 I’m not sure
What I cant understand is how can spraying a stain and immediately sucking it up work? Surely you would need to scrub it
Depends how deep and stubborn is
Why is it blowing dust out while I am trying to clean the carpet
Why doesn’t Numatic make brushes on the carpet nozzle where they need them.
Exactly. Thats why I adapted a Vax Spinscrub head to fit my George because that 'fishtail' thingy that comes with George/Henry Wash is as much use as a chocolate teapot.
@@Mackeson3 you can use a chocolate teapot. Eat it.
Do you mean as useful as an invisible stop sign
I’m probably the only one here to say this but...
He the clean up kid. 😂 💛💚🤍❤️💖💙
Thank you Roger for doing a brief review of this cleaner. This is a new machine for me, so I'm only just getting used to it! And yes agreeing with your point that you made in your video there are some things lacking which the George has.
Nearly 30k subs well done!!

I haven't seen that in the USA.
Can these parts be used on the Henry HWD 370-2? Or are they not interchangeable?
All the parts will fit, but any parts used for washing will not function as the Henry Wet & Dry does not have a pump or solution container.
Не понимаю ваш язык но пылесос мне понравился. Скажите где в Казахстане можно купить его.
Is the carpet not wet after watercleaning?
Great devicel!
It’s always best to switch off the pump when you are going over the carpet/upholstery to remove the dirty solution.
ibaisaic Thanks for getting back to me and for your Helpful Peace of mind!👍
Dose it came with a us 🔌
I was the 10th person to like this awesome demonstration.
What is between Rug Doctor and Henry Wash?
Were to refit ball bearing hood end
It's this better than the George?
No.
Hello do you have it for sale
Hi why do you want to do a big demstroson but. I like hoovers
Can we get these in the United States ?
Not at the moment, but the similar George machine is available from Amazon though it is very expensive over there.
ibiasaic, Did you know there is also a Henry Wet & Dry, it is an exclusive Henry for Argos.
Yes, but I won't be getting that one as it's too similar to Charles.
ibaisaic whats wrong with charles?
@@ibaisaic pp0p0
What's the difference between this and the George?
The main difference is the Henry wash does not come with any tools for dry pick up and you have to clip the solution hose to the suction hose.
Where I can buy it in india ?
I don’t know if you can buy this in India. Use google to search the model and you may come up with some suppliers.
What is the song of the title of this VDO please, sorry my 4years keep asked 😂
Sorry I don’t know. It was downloaded on my old computer.
Does anyone else's spray water out sides with the larger attachment?
Yeah gorge has the air thing in the sides
as for the vents my 1740 George has all of them, as for the people complaining about the carpet washing "fishtail" tool, a lot of/most professional machines, such as those from Alltec and the like generally only have a standard wand, our ones at work do and the main one is not what you would call a 'small' machine (think more chest freezer!).
They may be effective in a big commercial machine, but in a small domestic cleaner they just don't clean as well as an upright carpet washer with revolving brushes. I may dirty up a rug and do a comparison test to show this.
Why do you love hoovers
Imagine if everyone who watched this subscribed to your channel
How would an upright compare with manual agitation with a brush and then George extraction do you think? Obviously the upright would be less work but what about the results, and does the George have better suction and extraction than an upright?
Do you have to use the nuchem chemical or can you use a different shampoo?
