I've been watching you since before your son was born- those planners were throwing me back. Thank you for sharing your growth throughout these years as I've changed in my education journey! 💖
Nope to buying supplies. My district started providing all the supplies to every student and it’s amazing! I teach in Northern California. Your daughter is beautiful!
Congratulations on your 11th year. I love your classroom. I wish my classroom was that big. I teach 7th grade in Houston, Texas and some of my students don't respect the supplies teachers purchase for them to use or that the school give us. Hope you have a great school year.
Congratulations on your 11th year! It's my 13th year teaching Special Education and my 10th year as a middle school teacher. I still love it! I'm changing all of my bulletin boards with a travel theme all around, added a new piece of furniture from Ikea to the front of my room, and moved around some furniture. I also added "plywood-looking flooring" as a backing (from Lowes, after cutting and painting black) to my bookcases. I got the idea from Shelly @ Early Edventures (July 26, 2022 video...Preparing for Classroom Setup). She's awesome, too!
I've been watching and enjoying your videos since you've been on youtube. The one thing that always shocks me is how many books you have for your students. We never had books in class. Besides textbooks. I was constantly in the library. I wish you were my teacher! All those books. You're students are very lucky to have you as a teacher.
Thank you for sharing about the supply boxes, I thought I was just not figuring out how to convey that kids should respect supplies! Loved this video!! I watched this video while lesson planning 😁
Another lovely video.! I always love seeing you work in your classroom. The literature cards are depth and complexity task cards! I just brought mine out for the year to use with my ELA classes. 🙂
Wishing you a fantastic year! You’re still an amazing teacher and you always inspire me. I’m teaching 6th grade math this year, but I will always follow your journey. Thanks for all the great tips through the years.
You might need more book shelves for those cool books. I always liked your classroom, those are beautiful pictures up high on your wall( the mythical creatures) you might want to put them behind frames.
Aww thanks so much for sharing your journey. 💜You are so inspiring to me. 🤗Why does it seem we were “better” teachers back when we started? My 11th year too and I feel I used to master so many things way better than now 😅
I hang on to something for three years and if I don't use it during that time, then I discard it or give it away. Have you thought about having your students create their own name tags? It saves a lot of time and printing ink. This is my 30th year of teaching and it does not feel like it until I come across some old materials or photographs. Best wishes to you for a pleasant school year.
Have you ever tried Spironolactone for your skin? It is a miracle worker! Since being on it, I literally have not had a single pimple. Like, not one. I also put tretinoin on at night, but the Spironolactone is the key!

Use two sided concrete /outdoor tape from walmart to stick to anything. I have things on my walls from 4-5 years ago.
Best part of the video is seeing Momo (she’s so freaking cuteeeeee, I’m obsessed with her💕) and admiring that handwriting 😍😍😍 such goals.
