I felt a tremor in Chicago in 2005. I had stayed up late playing video games one weekend near the basement level when I felt a vibration and the door rattling. Everybody was sleep. I didn't know what it was and thought someone was knocking on the backdoor, which scared the crap out of me, but when I peeked out of a small window, I didn't see anybody. The next day, I found out it was an earthquake. I didn't even know you could get earthquakes in Illinois until that day. That's when I started taking my school earthquake drills seriously.

NEVER stand on a doorway because the swaying can easily cause instability to the frame, unless you know your door was designed rated for Earthquakes, I would recommend getting under something sturdy, or even fortifying something sturdy to cover yourself from falling debris, or like Tiff says, go outside if you're not around things that can fall, deaths and injuries only occur from falling objects. Make your best judgements to stay safe out there!

Always try to go under a door frame or to a corner or something, you know, the triangle of life thing. Those are the most sturdy places inside your house. If you do have a places outside the house without trees, cables or anything that could fall on top of you, then going outside its always the best option

There was a recent earthquake in Seattle too and it was only a 4.1 but people are scared that this it’s leading up to the 9.0-10.0 magnitude earthquake that’s supposed to last around 5 minutes (they’ve been expecting it for around 20-30 years now)

Doorframes are only safe in old houses, in new houses they're too flimsy.

People build things on top of things and on top of more things and then are surprised when the planet can't actually "hold" everything up. lol

@@jusufvelovic7562 Besides my comment being a joke, hence the "lol", to be fair, they can't confirm the state of the land that deeply, it's only down to a certain point to make sure the house will stay balanced.

I live on Illinois so I have never had a earthquake drill. Is it similar to like a tornado drill?

earthquake drill would be going under sturdy tables or going outside if nothing is around to fall on you. tornado drills are going to rooms that have no windows.

I don’t live near Cali. I live in Ohio, but we have been experiencing earthquakes too. We have many fault lines in and near Lake Erie. Our water has risen 5.3 trillion gallons over the past month or so. I have a feeling when a major earthquake hits us there will be flooding and cedar point mostly will not be here. It’s crazy to think about, but anything can happen at this point.

its so weird to see Amber curse without being censored by herself or hearing a blank. its like refreshing to see her as an idol being free to be herself without any restrains ^^
