I Caught RARE Fish in a Primitive Fish Trap!

- In today's video, I make a primitive fish trap using nothing but sticks to see what CRAZY fish I could catch! I built the trap in a tiny creek that is FILLED with rare aquarium fish and MONSTER fish! After we finished making the primitive style trap, I placed one that we bought next to it to see which one catches the most fish! We then stuck our hands into the mysterious mud holes and caught out CRAZY fish like oscars, cichlids, catfish, and more! We then traveled down the dried up creek and saved as many fish as we could including bichirs, and African cichlids! And once we got to the hidden tunnel we turned on our flashlights to try and find fish... We ended up netting out gouramis, and even an axolotl! We caught so many fish we decided to place another fish trap in the tunnel! We then came back later that night and ended up catching so many fish including eels, knife fish, exotic cichlids, plecos, and more! When it was time to see what the primitive fish trap caught, we were shocked at the MONSTER freshwater pufferfish, axolotls, and mystery fish that we found inside! We brought back all the fish we caught and put them into my backyard ponds and fish tanks! Should we do another primitive fish trap?

The primitive fish trap was cool. Honestly surprised it worked as well as it did. That was neat!
You did great❤❤❤🎉😊
They work really well I’m from Australia and had a mate that’s aboriginal show me how to make one with rocks in a rocky river we got some big trout heap of crayfish even a platypus cranky buggers they are 😂😂 awesome to see first hand you should try next time your out camping 🇦🇺👍
@@darrengeorge2308they really do work well, my ancestors skills in fishing helped us not only survive Australia but thrive here ❤ and I do this every time I go camping, it's so much fun and a good skill to teach the young ones 👍everybody should give it a go, its so easy to do
Cole loves your videos❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
❤❤❤
Looks like a giant puffer called an Mbu puffer. Be really careful with any puffers you catch they can be very aggressive towards other fish. Fantastic video, love all your content.
o my gosh!
This exactly, you can’t house most puffers without any other fish, including other pufferfish, they look cute they are VERY aggressive
Snow flake Moray eel
It kinda looked like a common toadfish, like the ones you catch while fishing in the ocean
Yesss please do a part 2
We are so glad you are back and doing better!
Good to see you with a cleaner shirt at the start of the video. Lots of bonus points for you.
You need to keep the apple snails to feed to the puffer fish. In the wild, puffers mostly eat bivalves such as clams, muscles, and oysters, but they will go after snails when they're present too. They might take shrimp, but if you feed them with large shrimp, you'll end up needing to file their teeth down every now and then or they will get to big and the puffer won't be able to either eat or fully close its mouth.
I hope you've been studying up on the snake species in the area. I really really really don't want to see you get bit by something poisonous such as that coral snake that got into your trap a few videos back. To be honest, I don't want to see you get bit by any snake when you're in that water. It would be a guaranteed infection, and likely a really bad one.
Congrats on your successful primitive fish trap. Someday you need to build a really big one which stretches the entire width of the stream, with the v-chute opening in the middle of the flow. Then just before you check it, walk down the middle of the stream with a net in one hand and a stick in the other, and chase anything that didn't go in there on its own right on in. If there are many fish in the stream, that trap will be boiling with fish when you reach it. If it crosses the entire stream, you might not even need to bait it. The fish will just go in as part of their natural traveling up or down stream, all depending on which way you have the chute. Actually if you wanted to, you could build a double one, and if you want to reduce the number of fish which get out, have them share a back wall. You could leave the trap for a few days, and when you got back, it would be packed with anything in the creek.
Study up on those snakes, and good luck in the future!
Bruv how long did this take to write

Wow Bobby! You don’t need to buy any fish cause you just keep catching crazy cool ones in the wild! I can’t even pick out a favorite this time.

We need a draining video of the mystery pond again 😊
Loving the primitive fish trap series ❤ these kinds of traps have been used for so many thousands of years and where I live in Australia we have many amazing examples of permanent fish traps that are at least a few centuries old if not a thousand or two. Pretty cool these things used to feed and sustain whole communities 😊 stay safe out there Bobby and crew ❤
@@IsayahH-ro8mt what????? How on earth did you find a way to bring religion into a convo about fish traps in the comments section of a fishing video? This is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

WOW!! A puffer fish! One of my favorite fish!! It looks like a MBU or Fahaka pufferfish to me. And the "stripes" one looks like a Datnoid. The primitive fishtrap is very cool. You should do it again!
Definitely Mbu. Will get over 2' long!

Your videos are not only amazing and impressive but educational and that's the main thing I love about the videos. My son knows so many fish because of your videos! hahahaha❤
That looks like a Mbu pufferfish! They're the largest species of freshwater pufferfish!
The striped fish looks like a tiger datanoid, an Australian variety
Lemme guess they're another invasive species that ended up in FL, right?
I think it's a tiger datnoid as well.
@@GladDestrongerMBu is a rare species from the congo the datnoid a indonesian all released not invasive
Well with all the invasives running around FL nowadays you can't tell sometimes.
@GladDestronger very true so many cross breeds now too

Hi from singapore amd i have a Indo tiger datnoid!!!! absolutely beautiful fish.
That beautiful, spotted fish that you found in the primitive fish wrap the first one that’s an exotic tilapia. You do not want to throw away that is extremely rare.
Part 2 please please please 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The spotted fish you put in the cichlid pond was a STARRY NIGHT cichlid
starry night will turn more black with spots. awesome looking when colored up
YAY BFT TIME!🐠 Love you trying different things, but I could never stick my hand in a mudhole.🥺

DIY first trap is so cool I’ve never thought to build something like that in my life
Okay, I’m not usually one to comment but I have to say you’re fricken killing it!. It’s crazy to see how many rare/ uncommon fish you catch. Your channel is blowing up!. Keep doing what you’re doing. Hard work pays off 💯

So glad I found you on RUclips. Love you videos, my daughter thinks you are amazing! She is five and I've had to start getting my tanks back up and going since we found your channel.
Thank you for everything you do to get your videos out, your personality is amazing and it always makes my day when I see a new video is up ❤
YES you should do a part 2
PLEASE PART TWO!!!❤❤❤🎉
This was one of my favorite streams. The big fish from the primitive trap is a chocolate cichlid and I think the striped fish is a datnoid.
Freshwater snowflake eel, I literally just bought my 2nd 1 today and then started your video. All 3 of those fish are brackish so go get some brackish salt! Asap!
The timing of the 321 with the puffer fish was hilarious
Who's proud of the trap??
👇
Bobby I love your upbeat sincere reactions to them. Your personality reminds me of Steve Irwin. Also I would like to see you go fishing for fish, crayfish to feed to Abbey and the predator pond. A lot not like just a few I want to see the predator pond go crazy. Also I would like you to gift aquariums to elementary school classes and teach them about invasive sand how we can help not harm.
Primitive 10 out of 10 for catching the puffer fish. I would like to see a part 2
OMG that puffer fish is amazing!
I think you should go to your favourite spot and place ALL your fish traps! ❤

You should start a axolotle army😂😂
Nice trap! But if you build it perpendicular to the rivers edge you only need 3 walls, you can also use the same trap to catch turtles
I love this channel. You really know how to keep people tuned in. I could watch your videos all day long
