Glad to see Benchmade are still at the forefront of cutting edge knife design and pushing boundaries with their material choice. 350+ dollars for a G10 handled knife is truly outstanding! I might get 3 or 4 to put in my car , garage and bug out bag 😍
It's not a worry. It happened to me with a cheap Italian switchblade knife when I was about 15 years old. Got a fairly bad cut on my right hand while reaching into my pocket. So I've never owned any kind of automatic knife since. The large Civivi Elementum button lock without the flipper tab, locks in the closed as well as the open position, sounds like that would be a perfect fit for the first question.
I have the same desire to have a safety on my knives as well, primarily due to carrying my kids around. Check out the Buck Hexam. It fit the bill perfectly for me. It’s, in my opinion, even better than a standard safety. You have to hold open with your thumb what is essentially a single sided crossbar lock, but then also flip it, it doesn’t open as soon as the lock is disengaged. It’s just as fast to deploy as a standard flipper as it all happens from a normal grip, but it’s extraordinarily safe in the pocket still. Downsides are it’s a bigger knife and low end steel. Wish they would make versions with better materials.
The large 3.47" blade, button-only Civivi Elementum essentially locks closed. I wish they made more variants of that knife or more knives that operate in the same manner. It's also safer to close as you don't have to put your fingers in the blade path.
The only knife that ever bit me in the pocket was my Medford smooth criminal. Reached in for my keys, and my hand came out looking like a scene out of saw. Still love it, just really careful now.
24:00 I get that the Scallion is a Ken Onion design and this question is Most Serious... but I think you might actually mean *shallots*? You know, with a splash of cognac, to keep it French. Scallions are green onions, closer to chives than big yellow onions.
Hey DCA and crew, I've been looking for a locking folder with the quality, fit & finish of a Sebenza but with the dimensions that would make it legal in any jurisdiction. I haven't been able to find too many USA-made knives that fit this description. Can you help???
Once again, calling for an updated Leek! There's no need for speed safe nowadays, and the clip needs a good looking at. I honestly think it'd be a hit. Leave the blade alone as its a slicing monster, change the clip and mechanism.
Sometimes when I've worn fancy pants I've noticed that the pockets are sewn shut. Is there a knife that is best or made specifically for opening these pockets? Would a knife made for cutting pockets be the one true "pocket knife"?
Greetings DCA. Most seriousest serious question. When hunting supernatural beings you more than often need silver, but silver is fairly soft so it wouldnt make great knife. However damascus and san mai exists, but 2 things need to be adressed. 1. is silver going to be core or coat and 2. what knife should come in beast hunting version?
Opinel locks closed also.
Yeah you missed that he asked for a super steel.
@@EvilTwinRC51 Oops 😬

Hey, you left out the most important feature: that Grand Canyon sized gap between the gray and green portions! 😂😂😂😂
Have had an Ontario Rat 1 for quite awhile now and it's been a fantastic blade. Does everything I need it to. Highly recommend for the price

Civivi Clavi opened in my pocket. Way too sharp to risk carrying that knife again.

Only time a knife has opened in my pocket was when I take my pants off and they fall.
Which one?
Which one?
@iamgroot4080 don't remember. But any folder that falls has a potential to fling open

Reate exo gravity knife has a safety to lock closed and is a really interesting action
Cold steel double safe hunter does and they made a version in S35vn.

Sadly it ain't gonna happen. Ive hoped for it as well but they sell so many at current there is no reason for them to change it.
Mmm that soup is full of extra iron too.
I know We made the original run of Gent knives. I bet they're still the OEM for Gent 2.0
Wide variety of Cold Steel knives in S35VN not spring loaded.

My Kershaw launch opened in my pocket and cut the hell out of me. I no longer carry that automatic
What is the best adapter to be able to carry a knife scout carry

IMO, the single stupid Civivi choice on the Elementum is not having an ambi pocket clip. I have several Civivi knives, but no Elementum,
Hi DCA! Can you pick 3 knives too describe Thomas's personality.
Carry an old fashioned backlock. Wont open on you, wont close on you.
Does anyone know of you can buy scales for the mkm pocket tango?
That TR4.........MMMMMMMM
The safest pocket knife is... a spoon.
Just because it's a spoon doesn't mean it can't cut.
hartig soepje !!!!🤣👍
