- We wil take a look at a Soviet place of driling and research of the deepest artificial point on Earth in the Arctic, Russian Far North in the borderzone with Norway. Drilling was performed from 1970 to 1994, and the place was abandoned in 2008.
First youtuber to show the actual site.
Well done 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks and welcome :)
Thanks for making this great film. What a pity this historic site has gone to ruin. There should be a plaque there to commemorate the achievement
They were thinking to build a museum there but actually there is not even a sign there. I guess with recent war and closed border with Finland museum is very far away.
Thank you for shwoing around and explaining the story so well. I was trying to find more details and an actual video of the place, but I couldn't find any. Thanks!
You're welcome :)
WOW! That was amazing! Great work! Thanks so much!
Very interesting place, it was really interesting to see the whole place and the place where is the deepest hole :)
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Lol…”oops radioactivity.”…Cool “Spider-Man” sweater.
Superb !!! Thanks for actual site tour.... Love form India...
But think such monuments should not be kept abandoned .... Some restoration has to be done to protect it...
Thanks. They have some plans to make a touristic spot, but as we can see they did not start working on it yet. Let's hope they start soon!
@@yugoslavtraveler9684
Wow....That's really great news....
Keep updating 👍👍👍
And keep continue this good job of site tours.....🙌
@@yugoslavtraveler9684 How Are You Brother Your Video Nice And Amazing ❤
Are you planing to go there again? It would be interesting to see, if the place got any better 😊
I would like to. First to North Cape and then from Norway to Russia, but border crossing has to be opened.
Coolest tourist attraction
There are no single piece of person but you went there alone fucking crazy man. Hats off
One younger couple was actually leaving when I came there. So it is not completely abandoned.
Nice One Brother 😊
They did change the cap of the hole, all pictures show an old rusted cap, the one you showed is blue with blue fasteners
You are right, and the new one has engraved 12262, not written with a paint.
Very interesting. Do many turists come here? Whether this area is protected?
There were some tourists, but mainly locals. I would say some 30 people come per day. The area itself is not protected, there is no one and no camera.
Thanks for video.
You are welcome.
This is a very nice travel project
Thanks.
It must've been interesting in the time of drilling.
can't imagine this place in winter
It is not so cold actually, - 15 degrees Celsius at night and - 5 during day. But this are average temperatures.
It's one of the greatest achievement of mankind and left abandoned. Looks like it is cursed..
At this moment it really looks like.
Great video
Thanks!
Lool, "a nice industrial town" 😂. Ne moreš iz svoje kože, a 😉. Kul video. Zanimivo, za ta projekt sploh še nisem slišal. Vedno sem mislil, da so najgloblje do sedaj kopali v JAR ... Kamni so pa na 12.000m res zmehčani, predvsem zaradi pritiska.
Well, I can add "for Russian circumstances". This one was very well taken care for (compared to other towns in this part of Russia). About rocks behaving like plastics at that deepth, that was obviously not a common knowledge 30 years ago and leading scientists were surprised about it at that time 🙂
Nice visit bro 🎉❤😮
Thank you 👍
Hi i am from india @@yugoslavtraveler9684
Wow that was amazing ....
Is there no guards or anyone selling souvenirs?
No, there was no one there. Just two tourists came at time I was there.
Good Video ❤
That is a deep hole. Was it cold when you where there?
Not really, but it was not for a T-shirt. It was end of summer/August.
Cool place. And all abandoned.
Well, they do have some plans to turn it into a touristic spot. We will see :-)
Wow so amazing, my question is why did they change the blowhole cap ? The rusted cap was strong enough.
I looked at the pictures again and I am not sure, they changed the cap. It seems more likely to me that they just painted it and engraved depth. The reason probably is, that they have some plans to turn it into a touristic spot. But it is a long way to get there.
@@yugoslavtraveler9684. I never see that cap in my life it look strange ..I am curious how they sealed it ? Like with tools or something
The part we can see is sealed with a cap and fixed with bolts and nuts. It looks like the end of regular pipe line. What is under the cap (like concrete or anything), I don't know. I guess nothing. But I read that they think, it is filled with underground water.
cool place :-)
I did not know places like this exist.
Interesting place.
Just that something does not climb out of the hole ;-)
Eastern Europe is lively and lovely
This part is already more Northern Europe - close to Norway :)
@@yugoslavtraveler9684 still is in Russia which is culturally more eastern and you can see the remnants XD but yh is still lovely xd
@@Hatsune-Miku_Fan culturally is for sure in Eastern Europe. I meant geographically.
Nice video, it gives Chernobyl vibes
Nice :-)
Must be interesting in winter.
It is not so cold actually, - 15 degrees Celsius during night and - 5 during day.
How difficult would it be to open that hole back up?
Well, if the screws are too rusty you could just cut them off. But I am not sure I would recommend testing the authorities there, some lonely visitor might report you.
Zanimivo... poučno. Pa kako lepo bi bilo tam, če ne bi vse ...
They have some plans to transform the facility into a touristic facility. We will see what happens./Imajo plane, da bi naredili turistično točko na tem mestu. Bomo videli.
Hello! Great video! I'm a researcher with Prometheus Studios and we'd be interested in licensing your footage for one of our episodes. Do you have a contact email or website where you take licensing requests?
Thanks. How can I contact you? I am not sure it is vise to publish emails up here.
@@yugoslavtraveler9684 Do you have a social media account you use for your channel? My comments with my email keep getting deleted.
How did you get permit to get there?
I just asked the border guards on checkpoint and they gave it to me. No big complications.
hell sound scored me
yep, that is deep
my question is ......if anyone somehow unscrew the bolts.....wll he found the hole or there are more protection layers..................btw love from india
I have no idea. Anyone knows?
@@yugoslavtraveler9684you would have called me bro i would bring some wrenches
@@nogaming5976 that would be good :D Do you live nearby?
Anda begitu berani memasuki gedung gedung itu sendirian.apakah sama sekali tidak ada yang tinggal di situ?dan apakah orang orang boleh dengan bebas melihat lubang itu tanpa ijin?
There is no one living in the buildings. Just a group of tourists come and go from time to time. It was not forbidden to enter and take a look around :)
@@yugoslavtraveler9684 apakah lubangnya tertutup permanen atau bisa di buka?aku sungguh penasaran.😄 Terima kasih sudah menjawab pertanyaan saya.GBU 🙏🏻
@@ILoveTrance111 the hole is closed with lid and screws. With enough courage and time you could open the screws, but if anything can be seen in the whole I don't know. I would say it is full of hard and liquid parts from dawn below.
something is in there
I would say mainly water and rocks. But might be something else...
@@yugoslavtraveler9684 During the drilling, it reached SO HOT at the bottom and lowered a camera and they caught the sounds of HELL
It is good, that it is sealed.
No they should put a toilet on it
Any holes the goal
Open it and put a toilet on it😂
i wonder how easy it is to open that
I guess not so hard. But who knows if it is really air under the cap or it is filled with something.
I hope they sealed it properly.
ha. travel travel travel travel travel travel
i want to go there
just
to
open
the
fking
hole
Well, I don't know how it is but I guess it is filled under that cap.
And there is no better road?
No.
You cab remove that screw n put your camera in to that
Well, theoretically that would be possible, as there were no guards. But I am not sure it is so easy.
Why should he do that, no need to vandalize stuff so other people can see it
It looks quite deserted.
Yep, I guess some 30 people visits the place during the day (in summer).
sad for the people that worked there
They were engineers and scientists, so I guess they had enough job opportunities (in oil industry).
5.04
not so bad
not many people there...
I guess heating costs are expensive if you do not work - so you leave.
🕳️
Deepest one ;)
The real reason why they stopped drilling was, they drilled up to the gate of hell. They had microphone - recording 17 seconds before it melted - and they recoreded the soun of screaming souls.
Yes, that is one version :-) But who knows the sound screaming souls make? So deep down with all the pressure I guess sounds are not like Tchaikovsky symphony :-)
Incorrect. Drilling equipment kept melting because of the heat. It was approx 2x hotter than they assumed.
@@yugoslavtraveler9684hahahahha
They should try and drill to that depth again to clarify what happened :-)
