I think the changes of sizing that you're skeptical about is because, it was very much too narrow for the general height & weight consensus to get a more snug fit between sizes (choosing size medium instead of a BIG & tall large), therefore clearing up causing a confusion.
I personally like the baggier look. I’m 5’6, 130lbs and I wear 2 of them from FW21, size small and i like the fit and they’re a bit baggy and comfy. I also have one from FW19 and it feels tighter. Same size too, small, but I don’t like how tight it feels.
Oversized fitting is currently in right now, and personally the old hoodie looks like a medium fit or shrunken large on you, especially at the sleeves. The new one looks better and you can always shrink it to fit tighter, but I would leave it as is since I like the loose and baggy fit myself. Thanks for sharing.

Nothing will shrink IF you hang it and let it air dry and make sure to wash in COLD water. That's the only way to avoid clothes shrinking. Hot water and hot temperatures cause clothes to shrink.
