- These commercials aired on ABC on May 21st, 1990. Thanks to Adam for sending this my way!
1. Ragu Fresh Italian Pasta Sauce
2. Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion
3. Norelco Electric Shaver
4. Promo for "Who's The Boss" (A compilation featuring all of the sex jokes she made over the course of this show would probably be over an hour) and "The Wonder Years"
5. "MacGyver" Commercial Bumper
6. Promo for "Brewster Place" and "Equal Justice"
7. Grossman's (We used to really suck, but now we're better!)
8. Frank Yanco's Queen City Toyota & Pontiac-Cadillac
9. Promo for WMUR Daybreak
10. American Express Travelers Checks (With Karl Malden)
11. Right Guard Sport Stick (With Charles Barkley)
12. Toyota
13. Coca Cola Classic (Money is great and all, but the thought of discovering a used dollar bill inside of something I'm drinking is pretty revolting. I really hope they didn't actually put game pieces or pieces of paper inside cans of soda. Edit: apparently the "MagiCans" were spring loaded and not drinkable: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagiCan)
14. American Express Travelers Checks (With Karl Malden on a TV this time!)
15. Partnership For A Drug-Free America PSA
16. Promo for "Heaven Can Wait"
17. Promo for "Father Dowling Mysteries" and "The Young Riders"
18. "MacGyver" Commercial Bumper
19. The Prudential
20. Shedd's Spread Country Crock
21. Jell-O Jigglers (With Bill Cosby)
22. Promo for "Sammy Davis Jr's 60th Anniversary Celebration" (This was originally filmed in November, 1989 and first aired on 2/4/90. He died on 5/16/90 only a few days before this and it was re-aired in his honor)
23. "MacGyver" End Credits
24. Promo for "Indianapolis 500"
25. Promo for "World News Tonight"
26. Volvo - Развлечения
i miss these kind of commercials 💌
3:49 - That money popping out of the can was such an iconic image at the time. Kids in my Middle School who drank Coke were always hoping for it to happen.
Love this era of commercials.
1:09 - Just eight months after this aired, Daniel Stern would stop being best known for this voice, and more for Home Alone.
Shedd Spread Country Crock- Apparently, Stu Pickles (from "Rugrats" ) has a secret life outside of the cartoon world being a spokesperson for Country Crock. 😉
Jell-O Jigglers- The way the kids eat the Jigglers with their hands in this commercial puts a smile on my face every time.
Or Mr. Elliot Carlin finally found happiness by doing Country Cock Commercials.
I've never seen any of MacGyver before but I just can't help but think of Selma yelling "You're lying!!!!!" over sideshow Bob criticizing it.
Also lol
"Hey Barkley do you want to be in our commercial where you happily and casually participate in one of the most evil and inhumane activities ever thought of where you chase down and exhaust a horrified and helpless little animal until it gets mauled?"
"Yeah, sure! :D"
A young John Michael Higgins in that anti drug PSA!
Those Coke cans came and went so quickly due to faulty mechanisms and potential liability concerns - I remembered when they had to tell everyone to not drink what was inside - but it made for some fun lunch times in elementary school!
“How fresh can it taste?” Judging by his face at 0:11, Ragu is a religious experience.
Sammy Davis 60th Anniversary was filmed when he was 63 and he lived until he was 64. Oh well better late than never and decent timing too! He did quite a bit: American singer, dancer, actor, comedian, film producer and television director.
Taken from "MacGyver", Children of Light. I saw every episode 100 times.
Ragu Fresh Italian-...and then the angels sang
The Wonder Years-Plot twist:The girl that Kevin was crushing on wasn't interested in the chemistry class
Brewster Place-a continuation of Oprah's miniseries "The Women Of Brewster Place" which sadly lasted one season
Equal Justice-ABC's answer to L.A Law
American Express Traveler's Checks- did he jump off of the balcony?
Partnership For A Drug Free America-Cocaine is a hell of a drug..also makes you walk around in circles very fast
Father Dowling Mysteries-"She tried to hit me with that but she.. slipped!"
I'm sorry, but Katherine Helmond was much funnier in Soap, especially her interactions with Robert Mandan, Jay Johnson and Bob, and Robert Guillaume.
It's also awesome to watch a who's the boss promo without having to hear someone do a horrible Tony Danza impression.
I always had a theory that Mr. Elliott Carlin was Stu Pickles real father.
