I was totally transported back in time the entire show. But it was at this point that I completely lost my s*** and started crying! I can't believe they played it ❤❤❤❤
When they played this in San Diego, it brought me to tears immediately. My favorite track on the Kiss Me album, and I never thought in a million years would I hear it live.
The greatest band on earth…..was lucky enough to get to 3 shows on the British leg of the tour,Glasgow,Leeds and Birmingham,,Hope you are all having as much fun in America,,peace and love from Scotland…🏴
Good choices!!!! I heard them play Lament at glastonbury 1990. There's a great quality bootleg of the whole show on YT. Big hand is on 'play out', no idea if they have played either of these brilliant songs lately.
So long time ago....sadly Robert can't hawl "A 2K Hours" in the original tuning. But it's nice to listen this song again live and played by the two keyboardists.
I was there, what a night! Two Encores! Incredible set that kept me in a dream. When “At Night” hit, everyone around, especially me, was dancing. Peace Love /|\
Sunk deep in the night I sink in the night Standing alone underneath the sky I feel the chill of ice On my face I watch the hours go by The hours go by. You sleep Sleep in a safe bed Curled and protected Protected from sight Under a safe roof Deep in your house Unaware of the changes at night At night I hear the darkness breathe I sense the quiet despair Listen to the silence At night Someone has to be there Someone has to be there Someone must be there Composers: Laurence Andrew Tolhurst / Matthieu A. Hartley / Robert James Smith / Simon Gallup.
robert smith sounded like he was 24 instead of 64. 2 and a 1/2 hours of fantastic music including shake dog shake, a thousand hours, Charlotte sometimes and primary. just a great setlist
♥♥♥ A Thousand Hours, every generation connects with music a little differently, I am privileged this was mine... Also just so you know, if I am behind you in a Cure Concert and hear you woo woo like that at the end of the song where your voice is the only one echoing in the crowd, I am gonna smack the back of your head.....
Some people find it "wrong" that this song is changed from D to A. But why? There is nothing wrong about that. Stille the same song. Roberts voice is just different when ge is 64 compared to the original on in D from 1987. Who cares..?
Exactly! I think he might have forgotten the original key.. They have hundreds of songs and they haven't played this one in decades. He can still hit high notes, is A Thousand Hours beyond the range he sings in other songs?
f^ck, that's so awesome! I've been to gigs where someone plays something special and unexpected but this must have been top of the list (I wasnt there!)
It's a pity that they didn't play it in the original pitch but a couple of tones lower; it's the first time the Cure have played this little game, honestly I wouldn't have expected it. However the song is still beautiful.
@@DisjectaMembra well they do have literally hundreds of songs and it was 30+ years since they last played it... maybe you are right but they have high notes in plenty of other songs don't they?
Ninguna canción de the cure exige vocalmente a Robert como A Thousand Hours! Es evidente que aunque Robert conserva su excelente voz, 35 años después no han sido en vano.
So sad Vancouver didn’t get this song in the setlist. 11 year old me played this song over and over again on repeat for a solid six months. He sounds amazing. There’s no other bound that sounds better live than The Cure. They actually sound better live, which is insane. Would be for anybody except Robert, this man has been criminally underrated in his contribution to music and his brilliance. I’d have loved to have seen this tonight. Was hoping we’d get this track, but sadly did not. Still, tonight was the best 3.5 hours I’ve had since June 1 1995.
For how much longer can I howl into this wind? For how much longer Can I cry like this? This song just immediately breeds complacency and boredom. Just using the chords and melodies of the instruments.. And then an aw f' it attitude. And then Robert starts singing about thousands of wasted hours. Its 😘.

A song that hasn't been played since 87 is added and all you have to say is "it's in a different key"? Siouxsie also has mostly if not all of her songs now in a different and much lower key and still sounds awfully out of tune, chasing the notes like a defective melodyne... Robert on the other hand...
@@MrKosh72 I've nothing against it, but it makes the whole thing sound strange and duller. Robert still sings really well, that's what never changed in The Cure, his voice. wow!
Lindo demais e amigos a voz de Bob Smiths limpinha afinada pura como a 30 anos atrás.😍🌹🍀
I was totally transported back in time the entire show. But it was at this point that I completely lost my s*** and started crying! I can't believe they played it ❤❤❤❤
Me too
My favorite Cure song. I just read about this with the video link attached. Hoping they'll play it tonight at Shoreline.
I guess this one hits you hard bringing memories of yourself and people gone forever
me too!

This song really helped me when my anxiety was so bad
The “uyea sound dim-d mix” from the 30th Anniversary Wish album helped so much when I was flying alone last year, I put it on repeat a few times 😊
His voice...incredible❤
One of my favorite songs, now we just need Lament and the Big Hand, but oh my God, To The Sky live would be my ultimate dream come true!

One of my favorite Cure songs! 👏. I Can't believe they played it.
Right?
That night was incredible
They sounded fucking incredible!
How lucky you were to be there for the show
And the rest of the world are so lucky to have RUclips ❤❤❤
His voice hasn't changed through the years! The Cure as good as they ever were.... I hope they make it back to Australia.
Hence why they had to drop the key so low for him to be able to sing it 🤣
@@AMSRMX16 Oh well 🤷♂
He's singing it one octave lower
@@guitaristssuck8979 Hate to be that guy, but they transposed it to A from D. So, he's singing a fourth below the LP version.

Not only Smith!!!
The Cures music, the words are my soul.
Hermosa canción. Y con los dos tecladistas. Mi admiración para todo el grupo.

People's voices change. Better to drop the key a smidgen and still do it well, than to do it badly or not be able to do it at all.
