That was how they were promoting him- “he won at the Apollo!!!” But that SJU crowd was crazy. Booing, throwing shit onstage, throwing a water bottle at his head. I do think his set went on for a bit long but the music was dope. Based off of that performance, I went and bought his album at Tower Records when it came out. Great album.
