Why should he reveal the exact movement of his new serve?
So that his opponents can prepare for that.

Rafa is definitely onto something... If WTA attract the same amount of attraction to the game, ticket sales, interests etc etc. If they can achieve those numbers? they deserve equal pay. This is not a female/male debate, nothing to do with gender equality, it's purely business! In my opinion, female tennis players are leaching off the male tennis players prizepools at major events like grand slams, and top "premium" events like Indian wells etc. These are massive events, hosted as one massive tournament like GS, so sponsorship money, tickets etc. are pooled as "one" therefore divided equally... but the facts are CLEAR, female tennis DO NOT generate anywhere near as much interests/sales... so they are taking a bigger share than they deserve. How do the smaller tournaments who generate a fraction of ticket sales vs the men draw justify paying the same prizemoney? I just don't get it.
It's all simple business... Look at Sydney international... Male winner got $83,650 prize money... Female winner got $190,732 prize money... That's fair!! Because the top seed for the male draw was Stefanos Tsitsipas he's only ranked #15 in the world, whereas all the top female players played there, so they attracted more fans.
People should think less "equal pay" but think "fair pay". You get paid what you deserve, if you attract less crowd you get paid less plain and simple.

I like Nadal even more now... he doesn't care if they win more if they can sell more tickets. Tennis is a business like anything else, not a charity. Also women play fewer games and put in fewer time out on the courts for people to watch. Sorry, that is how it is. I see this question on a lot of videos and I feel it is an attempt to bait players into controversy.

The thing that irritates me about this equal prize money discussion is that i think it comes from a selfish place. You don't hear doubles, juniors, and the wheelchair players complain about the prize money, i assume they understand they sell less tickets and have a smaller audience than the other events, thus they will get a smaller share of the total prize money. If the WTA was really about advocating for equal prize money, then they would advocate across all events not just their own.

I'm all for equal pay between men and women on all tour events, but can someone explain to me why when men are out there for 5 sets they should get the same money as women who play 3 sets? You don't expect someone who works 4 hours a day to be paid the same as someone who works 2 hours a day. I'm sure the current atp tour sells way more tickets than the current Wta tour which is lacking consistent quality players. As I'm sure that in the early 2000s which was the golden era of women's tennis, they were selling more tickets than the men's. Should compensation be tied to number of ticket sales?

From 2010 to 2014, the women’s US Open final drew a larger audience in the US than the men’s final. Rafa won the US in 2013, I guess he is suggesting that his prize should be lower than Serena Williams because she attracted more audience that year, however he didn't said a shit back then. Now he says "I don't know the numbers". Well, the numbers fluctuate because viewing figures are not gender based but determined by individual performance and personality. If you believe in "We are the same" it is so hypocritical to say "If they sell more than us, they have to win more than us”. Woman and men should have equal prize money during ATP and WTA tournaments, it is no big deal, it is just fair.

Nadal is right -- if women sell more tickets, they deserve more money. The opposite is true as well. If I go on tour with my flute and lousy stand up act, do you think I deserve as much as Beyonce? Of course not. This is ENTERTAINMENT. Box office! If you sell the tickets, or get the eyeballs on TV, you get more money! Simple. This is not sexism, discrimination -- if so, tell that to Beyonce. WHERE'S MY YACHT BEYONCE? I play the flute and stink! I should get the same as you, right? Come on! If you are a woman who's a doctor at a hospital, same education, same responsibilities and YOU are getting less than a man with the exact same qualifications -- then yes, that IS a problem. But entertainment is not the same. I'm not saying the women's game is the same as my flute and stand up act, not at all. I love watching the women's game. But this is about numbers. Simple. Case closed.
