I guess I’m very lucky because I had nothing but positive experiences with birth control pills. It’s good that people are talking about negative side effects but we don’t hear that much from people like me who had such a positive experience. I had pain so bad I would be vomiting and having diarrhea at the same time. I would be in such severe pain that in those moments I felt I wanted to die. I wasn’t suicidal, I absolutely love my life. There just wasn’t any treatment for the pain. 800 mg of Motrin every 4 hours allowed me to function through some of my period but wasn’t good for my kidneys. Ortho tri cyclen was prescribed. What a blessing. No negative affect on mood or mental health, minimal cramping during periods and as an added bonus my skin cleared up. I had difficult experiences with doctors too. The all in your mind kind of things. I was already very active, meditating, doing yoga, eating vegetarian. I understand people’s reluctance to try birth control but just thought I’d mention a positive story.
I had different experiences with different pills. It took awhile to find one that worked for me. Part two of this video will be uploaded tomorrow where I talk through specific side effects of the pills I ended up trying!
