This is Guangxiao Temple, a famous temple in Guangzhou. There are many beggars (mainly disabled people) at the gate, but they are not homeless, most of them are professional beggars. This is a huge industrial chain, because people who go to the temple must be kind, so these people are born.

10:40 This sign says:Living area, travelers please do not disturb. So that's their home.
And love your video, for you dont embellish or vilify something, just real. Goodluck for your no-planned travelling.

I have seen quite a few videos about traveling in China but really like this one as the blogger is honest, it is more like real China, good and bad, unlike other videos that only talked about nice stuff.

I guess other vloggers you referred to mainly visited the city landmarks and shopping areas. But what they saw and filmed were also a part of the REAL China. Our vlogger didn’t follow the route that the map app selected so that he got lost in residential mazes and alleys. In this video, there were some old residential areas but I don’t deem them as ‘bad’ since all cities have old-looking neighborhoods. Such buildings may even have quite high property value due to the location in the city center.

don't give money to beggars. these are not homeless but professional beggars. normally they stay near temples as people with religion are more incline to give money to them.

those in the restaurant and near the temple were fake monks. Don't give them money.

Guangxiao Temple is an ancient temple, numerous famous monk masters in the history had taught Buddhism here! Including masters from India and mid Asia! Bodhidharma, Amoghavajra, the 6th Patriarch Huineng, Hanshan…the 6th Patriarch's and Master Hanshan's real body sarira are now preserved in Nanhua Temple. Some masters left their complete physical body relics in the world after cremation, and these are called real body sarira (maybe it's not the accurate English name) . The 6th Patriarch's body was strongly damaged in cultural revolution, but was then reshaped. There are about 20 real body sariras in Jiuhua Mountain, the latest one was from 2003? I'm not sure. This thing can't be explained by modern science so far and seems kind of against party constitution, hence the government doesn't publicize it excessively, otherwise I think it's actually more fascinating than mummy😬
