I've had the same thing happen to my brassicas. This year I put them under insect netting. My issue was snails and caterpillars. They're a fall/winter crop here, and so far are doing well.

I planted these in may, i think. they didn't do a whole lot. I decided I'd leave them a lone and see what they'd do.....not much!! lol. I had planned to plant more for fall, but never got to it. IF I garden next year, I will definitely try a fall planting of these. I heard they do better in fall instead of spring. I am glad you are having good luck with yours! The last several years have been pitiful for my garden. I thought I'd try containers in the hope that they'd do better. Due to my outcomes, I think I may just bypass spring planting next year. I hope you have continued success!!

@@gringal4039 I mostly plant in containers. I use some 5 gallon buckets and some cattle mineral tubs. I did plant some in the ground in my old goat pen. I figured years of goat poop would make for some good soil.

Leave the tomatoes until you are expecting a freeze. They don't mind cold weather, but they don't like a freeze.

I've made salsa verde with green tomatoes. I got the recipe off the internet. I don't remember where. It's been several years.
