Somersault was the first song I ever heard Sia sing. A friend of mine back in the mid 2000’s introduced me to Zero 7. Good group. A lot of mellow and chill music. In the waiting line was a big hit for Zero 7 and features in the movie Garden State with Zach Braff and Natalie Portman. Sia first really hit huge with Breathe Me which was the close out song to the series Six Feet Under. Anyway, while listening to those Zero 7 songs, Somersault comes on and I’ve been intrigued by this woman’s voice ever since. By far, my favorite Sia album is Lady Croissant and always will be. Please check that one out. Best version of Distractions on that one. Also check out her debut album from early 2000’s Healing is Difficult. Acid Jazz and soulful vibe to that one. I was going back through some old playlists and ran across a song that I thought you would love to hear. Its called "How We Love" from Beth Nielsen Chapman. It couldn't be more perfect for this time. The first time I heard it I was sobbing by the time it was over. The lyrics are simple but so powerful and the music is just beautiful. Her voice is angelic. Beth has written songs for so many other artists but she has her own career as well. Some other songs to check out are All I Have Right Back into the Feeling & Time Won't Tell (Bro Michael McD sings back up on these) Say Goodnight and Not Goodbye Say it To Me Now Dance With Me Slow In the Time it Takes (with Paul Carrack) You Say You Will She also has an album called Uncovered, where she sings songs she wrote for other artists. I was surprised at how many people have recorded her songs.
