I don´t understand why would you remove all that material with a finishing tool, why not using a circular tool from the beginning?

because the more shallow angle of the roughing tool allows for deeper cuts, removing material faster.

If you're using a CNC lathe, why would you not use constant surface footage? You severely limit yourself when you just set a single RPM

But if i need to change a side of already turned part. How the chacks shall be positioned? I have found how i can position the spindle
