Called DoorDash and after being on hold for 10 minutes asked how I could only get paid $2 base pay for 7 miles and did the $10 tip affect the base pay and got hung up on. This company is beyond out of control and does whatever they want with no consequences.
I've been dashing for a couple of months now and I'm fortunate to be in a zone that's almost always red when I need it to be. My AR is tanking faster and faster lately because the orders seem to be more and more trashy lately. No joke, the other night, I got 8 rapid fire back to back offers in a row from Chic-fil-a. ALL 8 were upside down single orders of 14+ miles for $14 and less each. Not to mention, ALL of them were out of zone. My market does not have out of zone pay that I've seen yet. One more note, they all went to the main city where I refuse to go after dark for safety reasons. I finally turned off door dash and drive away from the Chic-fil-a.. now sitting at 34% AR
funny.. now i just got a message from DD basically begging me to schedule (again, 39%AR) for tomorrow, Halloween, because it's going to be busy. Likely I'm not working on Halloween.

Silver here. Won't schedule anymore at all. At this point, why even maintain Silver? In my market, if I don't schedule at 3 pm for 6 days in advance, nothing will be available. It's ok, I will let the scammers and illegals do the work. But I will also tell you, that I will NEVER use DoorDash to place an order.

I have had my cdls for 16 years. I came home to door dash. The market isn't good out there right now if I have to guess, maybe because of elections. If you get your cdls better off finding a local trucking job. In my city, the pay sucks here for truck drivers unless they get the hazmat or double and triple endorsement. Having to be an electrician are a welder. Over road isn't good right now, depending on the trucking company you are trying to drive for.
If I can't schedule with my 20 AR guess I won't be Dashing anymore. I'm not working half hour to 1 hour shifts. I'll just use uber eats and grubhub more. Might as well add a Spark combo in there too. I'll still hit my goals everyday with or without DD.
DoorRash thinks they're untouchable. They're going to find out that there are limits to what you can do as a business. They're always down grading dashers consistently, year after year. They're going to play themselves out of business eventually.

I think today will be my last day dashing. Had an altercation with a customer that had the wrong address on a lousy $5 order and am just tired of being disrespected. EBT is always locked and it is amazing Doordash would expect me to go to a store and pick up an order, no matter how long the wait, and then drive 7 miles to deliver to some loser for $2. About a year ago, I had an order for 27 pizzas from Little Caesars! It took up my entire back seat. There was no way I would have had enough pizza bag for all of that. It went to a church. They were having an event for the kids that evening. I don't remember the payout, but it was decent and they even came out to the car with a rolling cart to unload me, which was really nice.
That's true. I door dash in Cleveland area and the people here rarely tip at all. Wear and tear on my car, long waits for orders that aren't ready, and orders when the person lives across town, the math isn't looking good.
I am so glad I stopped dashing when I did, it was bad enough to have to schedule around 3am. Now I would never be able to schedule with the new way because my AR was below 20.
Hoping this explains why when I went to schedule for Sunday couple nights ago there was nothing there at 12 AM and for like 20 or so minutes I checked until the morning when I looked and of course there was nothing left but like an hour in the evening before it gets dark and I can’t see.
I went from a platinum to gold and trying to get back to platinum and there is nothing left to schedule literally. I Dash through the week and spark on the weekends. My AR is 91% and completion is 100% so hard to get back to platinum. Now DD is trying something I think my buddy is also a gold dasher we put out phones side by side and his map was pink all over and mine was grey. WTF? Not cool
Chicago market today in fact, and yes in fact no warning and you cannot I am silver and I can't go more than 2 days out but actually I can go 3 days out. They are one day off on the count. It's actually 6 days for platinum 4 days for gold and 3 days for silver

i have to drive to my market but soon i will move to an even bigger market. the market im currently doordashing in doesn't even show up on the map while im at home. i have to be in that area to even schedule ahead of time. when i was gold and silver, i never seen any good times to schedule. i've always showed up and waited for dash now to appear. there's a lot of people that will drop their schedule and not even dash. usually if im able to dash now, i can just keep extending it until the area dies.
I was top dasher and was able to dash at anytime. I had taken a few days off for family issues then lost my phone at work. I had to get a new phone and get everything back up to speed with apps. Now i feel punished for that and can't get on so my orders were only 51 for the month. Ugh not nice door dash i feel you flooded the market
Central California. 80% for platinum, no dash now. Early scheduling is non-existent anymore. They said 3 pm, but you 10 seconds at the most to actually schedule any shift. Then, just last week, they took away your ability to drive 20 miles to a tiny market that's still has a normal tiers system where you could schedule a week in advance in your market. So I have no clue what's going on and why they don't want us to have the ability to actually work.
I’m silver. Hope it doesn’t come here. If you can’t schedule 6 days out, there will be no slots available. And my area is always grey. Keeping platinum is impossible unless you do ebt, and I hate ebt, did it the other day to get to silver and 8 out of 16 orders were no tip.
I hope this isn't true, a lot of us will be getting "fired". If this isn't a hoax, all pilot programs eventually come to all markets. Pilot doesn't mean tentative, it just means they are working all the kinks out. I'm not on a Tier so I schedule 5 days out at midnight, if I'm no longer able to do that then I won't be able to dash. This could spell the end for a lot of us. I didn't think they'd go this far but I shouldn't be surprised. They tried so hard to make this business model work, it's not sustainable.
You’re right I have a 94% completion rate and 96% AR and I’m only silver. But even as I write this comment and the map is light pink AKA not busy I can dash now. I think DoorDash is attempting to “thin the heard”. Also, I dash for fun on my 🏍️, so I don’t care where they send me
Today, my time to accept an order went down to 15 seconds. I usually get 35, called support, they were no help, and missed an order because it counted down too fast. I hope everyone else had a better shift/day.
DASH NOW should be available to ALL Dashers UNLESS they really do have enough Dashers signed in with certain markets. People are trying to earn some money and/or pay off debt but to have this ridiculously high REQUIREMENT takes the enjoyment out of it! I haven’t Dashed since June because I refuse to strive for a level that can easily be taken away from if I get sick or NEED/WANT to time off! The whole purpose is for people to do this when they WANT to and bring forced to schedule/try to schedule makes it less fun! What if you want to Dash at the spur of the moment? Things happen and plans change. 🤦🏽♀️
I work in this market dash now is not available till it shows busy and then it is only 1 hour this program took away being able to dash anytime anywhere it is a bad idea I didn't work hard to be platinum to have my perks just took away
Ubereats changed their platform but it makes no sense to me. They sent an order $5 for 20 miles...😂 can't make this stuff up..Uber is so wrong on so many levels.
Platinum is dash now it's still available, but you can also schedule up to six days in advance. Where did you get that that dash now is not available anymore?
I wanted to do door dash but they don't do bikes in Myrtle Beach but I can't believe they have shop for customers and make there food like why that's gonna take even more time. What's next door dash cleaning serives.
This is why you should sign out of arbitration once you become a new dasher, it’s the only way where if they break independent contractor laws you can sue them state wise and have more leverage in using the doordash app

I do get her something, usually a Sweet Tea. You actually said what I was thinking with the Little Caesars order. I thought "OK, Charlie put your past pizza experience into action now." My own past, 30 yeaes ago past experience, may have influenced my guess on the final total. I guessed $35. I was so close. lol 🍕 😂
Isn’t that being penalized for not accepting non profitable jobs or orders.. They are literally getting away with the whole reason for the contractor agreement. That’s not how it works. Definitely time for legislation and that move alone could make a hundred percent passable. Forty cents a mile and guaranteed state minimum wage plus tips. $0.40 at 10 miles $4.00 plus $4.16 wage based of a $12.50 minimum wage equals $8.16 delivery plus tips. Then the driver pays cost of return plus non delivery miles. That’s fair and what bill I’m proposing after the change of government in 2025.
I quit dashing back in January due to all the hoops they want people to jump through. I refuse, my time and car are more valuable then what they try to say. The job I have pays $22. an hour and the national mileage of .51 cents a mile. Doordash is not even paying the national average for mileage. It is pretty bad Medicare pays better mileage than delivery not to mention after all the deductions a person needs to account for the final pay is under Federal minimum wage.

2 stop shopping order for $11 bucks. Make it a minimum purchase of like $50 bucks to eliminate these garbage orders. If the stores want to drop the $50 min order threshold they can cover the cost related.

There is a reason I don't do door dash as much. I stopped doing it to do Uber. when I had car problems and had to do doordash, I lost top dasher and had problems getting back online to get enough deliverys to be top dasher. And planning to be online forget it, there wasn't anything avaliable.
Basically this means if you have one contract violation, while it's pending you will not see dash now available even if you are a platinum. You're on time rating will probably become a factor finally in that how else are they going to measure if you're consistently on time. If you're extremely late you're obviously not on time and you're going to get a contract violation, but what do they consider on time then well that would be arriving to the restaurant before the pickup time, So between the on time and the 9 minute Mark which is when you get a contract violation for extremely late, they would consider that late but not extremely late and would be a factor in whether you see dash now available in your area or not. Dash now I was also going to be per Zone so get to know more than one zone and you'll likely to see dash now available much more often than not. Also in the tiered level areas this pilot program is not going to be assumed the same for everyone. Basically once you hit platinum and have no contract violations you should be seeing the dash now available all the time. If it's not available it will probably have a padlock or the button just won't be visible. That remains to be seen or unseen as the case may be.
This is notngoing to work. I'm not going to worry about it. When I dash is usually off hours so in my market dash now will probably be available. I also have high ratings usually 80 ar or more.

Ya im gold only because i do this part time and use it as an app filler. Have uber eats and spark as well. On the waiting list for others. I havent had any issues scheduling in advance. But if these changes occur and not able to schedule the shifts i want. Well i guess more time for spark and uber, until i get off the waiting list for other apps
Nothing in boston market schedules have been disappearing last 6 months I'd your numbers are lower than 100 or if you change level that day. The acceptance doesn't ot update but de lines do. You have to check phone on the half hour. Otherwise your forced to drove nites which can log in. They will say you can dash on contract violation but they will lock you out erase scexuale while you dispute. The new thing is red screen to keep numbers of drivers down. They are trying to prevent multiapping

If true, 75% of dashers won't be able to schedule, it would knock too many people out, including me. 2 days out scheduling, what's the point of that? Terrible. If scheduling 3 day for gold and 2 day for silver comes to Eastern IA, then Gold and Silver are absolutely locked out of the DD app except for 4 am till 6 am and 9.30 pm till 12 am. Dash now only available to on time deliveries and high ratings also makes no sense as DD has reduced delivery times to customer in my area to the point of almost always being late. On Monday 15 of 18 deliveries I did were 2-5 minutes late. 2 months ago all would have been on time or early.
I don't like even more ways to force people into platinum. that being said, staying platinum just takes 4 orders a day and 25 days out of 30. if you don't see the reward don't risk more than 4 a day. even though i see some benefits in my market it also is forcing me to look at my other apps more.
Why would I waste my time taking 4 underwater orders? I'm not taking 1. If you want to volunteer, go do meals on wheels. No point making doordash money at your own expense

Sounds like a over saturated market with cherry picking and not enough people to do clown runs. I only schedule 3 days in advance anyways, so it's nothing to me. I got an email from DD I'd like to share too about earn by time.
I've never been able to schedule effectively at less than 5 days in advance. as of right now at 1:03 am. I had to schedule for tuesday for the maximum shift. the app's already prepped for the time change. so instead of appearing at midnight like usual I had to wait for 1am. it'll fix when the change hits.

As far as I'm understanding there will still be dash now for when it's busy or drivers go offline. But the reward of dash now anytime is being removed from platinum drivers. So if you're platinum and didn't already schedule ahead, you won't be able to just jump in when it's not busy

It kind of depends on whether you full time or part time as to how important 'dash now' is. I tried platinum when it first came out. It's nothing close to cherry picking and LOP. I still see catering orders without platinum and I know the days I'm taking underwater orders to maintain AR, someone else is taking a 50$ lunch to an office. Opportunity costs. You're better off declining everything and hoping that all the platinum drivers are busy with the high priority 2$ orders and you're the only person available

I like the change! As a Platinum dasher, I'm sick of the zone being flooded with dashers. I wish they would raise the minimum 30 day deliveries to 200 as well, and keep these cherry pickers off the road! If you want to come out and dash and take orders that should go to me, you should put in the hours and sacrifice your time or mileage like I do!

If you have not set minimum criteria for orders you are willing to accept then you are short-selling yourself. Forget what other dashers may be doing. It's irrelevant. To make the best of your time out there, run multiple apps at once. It makes zero sense not to. Learn your market and stay around the hot zone or areas of high activity. Proximity to your preferred retailers/restaurants will provide best results. Driving high miles will KILL your profit potential.
The only thing that sucks about that is if you took two weeks off, you'd be screwed. Unless you did a crapload of deliveries right before taking off and a crapload more as soon as you come back

I’m silver. Hope it doesn’t come here. If you can’t schedule 6 days out, there will be no slots available. And my area is always grey. Keeping platinum is impossible unless you do ebt, and I hate ebt, did it the other day to get to silver and 8 out of 16 orders were no tip.
I hope this isn't true, a lot of us will be getting "fired". If this isn't a hoax, all pilot programs eventually come to all markets. Pilot doesn't mean tentative, it just means they are working all the kinks out. I'm not on a Tier so I schedule 5 days out at midnight, if I'm no longer able to do that then I won't be able to dash. This could spell the end for a lot of us. I didn't think they'd go this far but I shouldn't be surprised. They tried so hard to make this business model work, it's not sustainable.

You’re right I have a 94% completion rate and 96% AR and I’m only silver. But even as I write this comment and the map is light pink AKA not busy I can dash now. I think DoorDash is attempting to “thin the heard”. Also, I dash for fun on my 🏍️, so I don’t care where they send me
Today, my time to accept an order went down to 15 seconds. I usually get 35, called support, they were no help, and missed an order because it counted down too fast. I hope everyone else had a better shift/day.
DASH NOW should be available to ALL Dashers UNLESS they really do have enough Dashers signed in with certain markets. People are trying to earn some money and/or pay off debt but to have this ridiculously high REQUIREMENT takes the enjoyment out of it! I haven’t Dashed since June because I refuse to strive for a level that can easily be taken away from if I get sick or NEED/WANT to time off! The whole purpose is for people to do this when they WANT to and bring forced to schedule/try to schedule makes it less fun! What if you want to Dash at the spur of the moment? Things happen and plans change. 🤦🏽♀️
I work in this market dash now is not available till it shows busy and then it is only 1 hour this program took away being able to dash anytime anywhere it is a bad idea I didn't work hard to be platinum to have my perks just took away

Ubereats changed their platform but it makes no sense to me. They sent an order $5 for 20 miles...😂 can't make this stuff up..Uber is so wrong on so many levels.

Platinum is dash now it's still available, but you can also schedule up to six days in advance. Where did you get that that dash now is not available anymore?
I wanted to do door dash but they don't do bikes in Myrtle Beach but I can't believe they have shop for customers and make there food like why that's gonna take even more time. What's next door dash cleaning serives.

This is why you should sign out of arbitration once you become a new dasher, it’s the only way where if they break independent contractor laws you can sue them state wise and have more leverage in using the doordash app

You actually said what I was thinking with the Little Caesars order. I thought "OK, Charlie put your past pizza experience into action now." My own past, 30 yeaes ago past experience, may have influenced my guess on the final total. I guessed $35. I was so close. lol 🍕 😂
Isn’t that being penalized for not accepting non profitable jobs or orders.. They are literally getting away with the whole reason for the contractor agreement. That’s not how it works. Definitely time for legislation and that move alone could make a hundred percent passable.
Forty cents a mile and guaranteed state minimum wage plus tips. $0.40 at 10 miles $4.00 plus $4.16 wage based of a $12.50 minimum wage equals $8.16 delivery plus tips. Then the driver pays cost of return plus non delivery miles. That’s fair and what bill I’m proposing after the change of government in 2025.
I quit dashing back in January due to all the hoops they want people to jump through. I refuse, my time and car are more valuable then what they try to say. The job I have pays $22. an hour and the national mileage of .51 cents a mile. Doordash is not even paying the national average for mileage. It is pretty bad Medicare pays better mileage than delivery not to mention after all the deductions a person needs to account for the final pay is under Federal minimum wage.

2 stop shopping order for $11 bucks. Make it a minimum purchase of like $50 bucks to eliminate these garbage orders. If the stores want to drop the $50 min order threshold they can cover the cost related.

I guess I need to get from 65 to 70 soon. I do like to schedule a few days out as I work M-F 8-5. I can't just be sitting around waiting.
There is a reason I don't do door dash as much. I stopped doing it to do Uber. when I had car problems and had to do doordash, I lost top dasher and had problems getting back online to get enough deliverys to be top dasher. And planning to be online forget it, there wasn't anything avaliable.

Basically this means if you have one contract violation, while it's pending you will not see dash now available even if you are a platinum.
You're on time rating will probably become a factor finally in that how else are they going to measure if you're consistently on time.
If you're extremely late you're obviously not on time and you're going to get a contract violation, but what do they consider on time then well that would be arriving to the restaurant before the pickup time,
So between the on time and the 9 minute Mark which is when you get a contract violation for extremely late, they would consider that late but not extremely late and would be a factor in whether you see dash now available in your area or not.
Dash now I was also going to be per Zone so get to know more than one zone and you'll likely to see dash now available much more often than not.
Also in the tiered level areas this pilot program is not going to be assumed the same for everyone.
Basically once you hit platinum and have no contract violations you should be seeing the dash now available all the time.
If it's not available it will probably have a padlock or the button just won't be visible. That remains to be seen or unseen as the case may be.

Ya im gold only because i do this part time and use it as an app filler. Have uber eats and spark as well. On the waiting list for others. I havent had any issues scheduling in advance. But if these changes occur and not able to schedule the shifts i want. Well i guess more time for spark and uber, until i get off the waiting list for other apps

Nothing in boston market schedules have been disappearing last 6 months I'd your numbers are lower than 100 or if you change level that day. The acceptance doesn't ot update but de lines do. You have to check phone on the half hour. Otherwise your forced to drove nites which can log in. They will say you can dash on contract violation but they will lock you out erase scexuale while you dispute. The new thing is red screen to keep numbers of drivers down. They are trying to prevent multiapping
of course they want all to be platinum....instead of the ones that want to 'cherry-pick'. i agree the low pay ones not good but at least you are getting orders. of course i am talking like this since my area is in a SMALL market!

I'm seeing parts of the email graphics show up on Reddit. I thought it might be a hoax, but other people are talking about it too. Sounds hard to believe really. If true, 75% of dashers won't be able to schedule, it would knock too many people out, including me. 2 days out scheduling, what's the point of that? All those orders to get silver and then you get very little for it. I hope this is a hoax.
Had a 72 and I was pumping gas then it glitch me to silver lol no orders came in
They need to acknowledge things like that and correct it.

Terrible. If scheduling 3 day for gold and 2 day for silver comes to Eastern IA, then Gold and Silver are absolutely locked out of the DD app except for 4 am till 6 am and 9.30 pm till 12 am. Dash now only available to on time deliveries and high ratings also makes no sense as DD has reduced delivery times to customer in my area to the point of almost always being late. On Monday 15 of 18 deliveries I did were 2-5 minutes late. 2 months ago all would have been on time or early.
One more step to the W2 DD drivers. Going to be even harder for P/T drivers to keep the 100 deliveries a month.
This equals less than 4 deliveries per day.

I don't like even more ways to force people into platinum. that being said, staying platinum just takes 4 orders a day and 25 days out of 30.
if you don't see the reward don't risk more than 4 a day. even though i see some benefits in my market it also is forcing me to look at my other apps more.
Why would I waste my time taking 4 underwater orders? I'm not taking 1. If you want to volunteer, go do meals on wheels. No point making doordash money at your own expense
@jayzillawashere I still make good money on doordash so it's worth it. some people just need better access to the platform. it takes maybe a hour and a half a day to rig this system somewhat in your favor
Sounds like a over saturated market with cherry picking and not enough people to do clown runs. I only schedule 3 days in advance anyways, so it's nothing to me. I got an email from DD I'd like to share too about earn by time.
I've never been able to schedule effectively at less than 5 days in advance. as of right now at 1:03 am. I had to schedule for tuesday for the maximum shift. the app's already prepped for the time change. so instead of appearing at midnight like usual I had to wait for 1am. it'll fix when the change hits.
@@cwolf201 I think your miss reading what is available when you look at your schedule screen. When people see AM to AM They get confused and think it's a night shift when it's really schedule anytime you want

I have to choose 5 days in advance. at the time it's best at. and usually it appears as 12:30 am to 2am. then 4am to midnight. I split out in 2 hour blocks giving me a 30 minute break between

In the markets that have this, yes there is no more dash now unless map is red. So they screwing platinum members the most.

As far as I'm understanding there will still be dash now for when it's busy or drivers go offline. But the reward of dash now anytime is being removed from platinum drivers. So if you're platinum and didn't already schedule ahead, you won't be able to just jump in when it's not busy

@@ericberry6557 every market works different and I get the feeling in the places where the schedules are always full anyways, people will still go play to schedule out in advance and guarantee their work. It kind of depends on whether you full time or part time as to how important 'dash now' is. I tried platinum when it first came out. It's nothing close to cherry picking and LOP. I still see catering orders without platinum and I know the days I'm taking underwater orders to maintain AR, someone else is taking a 50$ lunch to an office. Opportunity costs. You're better off declining everything and hoping that all the platinum drivers are busy with the high priority 2$ orders and you're the only person available

I don't forsee it lasting long. But long enough to weedout dashers sadly. Time will tell. Funny you thought that first order was Subway. 95% of my Subway orders come from one store. I went to it the other day by habbit. Was the wrong one and earned myself a contract violation for being late....

I like the change! As a Platinum dasher, I'm sick of the zone being flooded with dashers. I wish they would raise the minimum 30 day deliveries to 200 as well, and keep these cherry pickers off the road! If you want to come out and dash and take orders that should go to me, you should put in the hours and sacrifice your time or mileage like I do!
So they should W2 you….. you’re not an independent worker. The moment the states start making DD pay health insurance and we pay into SS…. They are bankrupt. I wish they would because millions and millions of us are not paying into the system and when we all hit 67 we will be eating cat food.
If you have not set minimum criteria for orders you are willing to accept then you are short-selling yourself. Forget what other dashers may be doing. It's irrelevant. To make the best of your time out there, run multiple apps at once. It makes zero sense not to. Learn your market and stay around the hot zone or areas of high activity. Proximity to your preferred retailers/restaurants will provide best results. Driving high miles will KILL your profit potential.

The only thing that sucks about that is if you took two weeks off, you'd be screwed. Unless you did a crapload of deliveries right before taking off and a crapload more as soon as you come back

maintaining platinum is essentially quarter time work. ive never not been top dasher for 5 years.
