Since they were profiting off of Activision statistics, they decided to shut down the website, not bc it was exposing their lobbies and matchmaking.
It's both. Codtracker and plenty of other sites have monetized API stats. Activision has dozens of publicly available patents surrounding their Matchmaking Systems and any data provider that would allow the public to reverse engineer those systems is public enemy #1 for Activision. Acti just gets to kill two birds with one stone. They did the same thing with the WZ companion app before SBMM WZ was even operational.
Why are you spreading misinformation like this, the video they made clearly showed Activision said nothing about money, it was about privacy breaches because they were gathering user data through the API.

I don’t know how plausible it would be but I think it’d be awesome if there was a way to illustrate players in the moment and have that card represent that moment. Example, an illustration of when Formal is raising his arms up after finally winning COD champs and having that card be a specific ‘Champs FormaL’ as opposed to a regular one and therefore creating a hierarchical disparity between cards and a distinct value to the moment. Idk if something like that has been done before but I reckon it would be mad.
