Nice presentation for someone who has not worked on this computer but clearly has lots of experience with laptops.
I only had to take apart enough to see how much damage I did after spilling a full cup of butter coffee over the laptop! Honestly, I'm amazed at how easy this computer is to work on, and how little liquid got inside. I did mop up everything I could with a towel fast, and force powered off and pulled the battery. The little bit of liquid that did get inside is cleaned up, and everything is put back together and it works 100%.

I ordered a DC adaptor for my t430 because it had broken. I got it done and didn't end up with extra parts. This video help so much. I hope to never do this again 😅 Thank you so very much for this wonderful informative video on how to disassemble. I had to do it to get to the bottom screw, got half done putting it together and realized I didn't line the vga and 3.5mm jack up right so I had to take it apart again lol. It's working like a champ now.

Thank you, used this video as a quick guide and you helped save me quite some time compared to if I had to figure everything out myself :)

Thanks for the video. I’m getting parts together to upgrade my t420 and t440. Is the cpu upgradable in the t420? Also, any Linux users on this channel? I found a device to upgrade a slot on the right side of my 420 to upgrade to USB 3 and I’m wondering if it works under Linux. It comes with a Win driver though.

MX Linux is running on my wife's T430. It works perfectly.

I'm running LMDE6 and Sparky Linux on a T430, and I'm running Zorin 17.1 Core on another one I'm fixing up for my son. But I hop a lot, and I haven't had a problem running any distro I've tried, including Arch variants, Debian variants, Fedora variants, and SUSE variants. You will not have ANY problems running Linux on a Thinkpad. Almost like they're made for it. 😁

Only if you lift the cooler. But since you are opening it, is better to do so.

There won't be an assembly video, because your channel is called Disassembling Laptops

channel name: "laptop disassembly". "this could be a longer video because I really have no idea how to open this laptop..." 🙄🤦🏼‍♂️

However, I haven't disassembled every possible laptop model. Everything happens live, without editing or pre-production. Still, I have other work to do.
