@anitabooks888 The problem is not building material. The problem is disorganized and broken culture. Believe I have lived in all kinds of settings with black South Africans. We produce engineers from villages, but none go back to help. Yet some white so-called philanthropist will be the one to build some structure. Look at our kings, they hardly help develop their regions. The exception will be the Royal Bafokeng. The government has done a terrible job of giving instead of empowering people.

I am a black south african and I can tell you that our people are disorganised. They want to do everything for money which they drink and compete about who lasts longer at a tavern. We seem to think that voting should deliver houses and water and everythiing. The government gives them RDP houses and they let those houses delapidate. I wish I was an organiser but I am not. I wish those that can organise would stand up and organise in their communities. I agree with all the utterances, they are not insults, they are facts. This video is envoking emotions in me and I need to take action just in my yard. My brother-in-law in Belville helped to organize a problem street in their neighborhood in blocks. Each block has a team of volunteers maintaining and cleaning that block once a week in their spare time. They got plants donated by businesses , or extra plants out of peoples' gardens, to plant alongside the road. People from neighboring towns were so impresssed and started similar projects for themselves. It was done according to the broken windows theory. People need to learn to work together for the good of their community and to be responsible for their own neighborhood. It starts with small steps. You will also most of the times find successful people are more than willing to teach and guide you if you are humble enough to ask, and willing to learn.

In my area, when more black families moved in, it was a middle class area, and since this the area has been reclassified as a township. Over night crime went up, illegal communes owned by locals and rented out to illegal foreigners popped up everywhere, the place got dirtier, and people dump garbage everywhere despite there being a refuse service. The white/indian/Muslim people of the area are the ones who come out to clean it all, maintain the infrastruct and patrol the streets at night. I disagree that this is a Black or race thing. I think this is a case of laziness or a focus on wanting others to provide. Look at Gaza, those people build terror tunnels from money donated to them and choose to live in slums. They not Black. So this a case where the world has more lazy people than self starters. It's sad that lazy people complain they have no money, cannot buy materials and all that bull. My father went only to std 6 school with no shoes on his feet. When he died at age 67 he was a multimillionaire. He worked so hard, i hardly saw him. He left home at 5am and came home at 10pm every day. I learnt so much just observing his zest for perfection. He paid my education during the midst of apatheid and made sure i graduated as an electronics engineer. I am grateful my father taught me how to have a goal in life and not wait for handouts. Lazy people must stop blaming others for their own nonsense. This laziness is a disease that infects people irrespective of their race.

The truth do hurt at times but can be very helpful when acknowledged. After acknowledgement comes positive action. God helps those who helps themselves. @The Republic, you share my sentiments....my conclusion is that there is a lack of true leadership in many Black South African communities...even 'leaders' on the ground, such as tribal leaders, seem to be waiting for the government. I remember asking local leaders in a rural area why they don't address the issue of unemployment within the community that they lead....I even suggested to them to try turn the community's subsistence farming fields into a more productive community farm where a higher volume of a variety of crops could be harvested for sale to big shops.....their answer was demoralizing to say the least..as all they could say was that "there are no farmers in our community". Imagine such an answer coming from a community "leader".

It is a deep seated form of littering - it is fundamental or cultural. Thus, people do not teach their children not too because everyone in those communities litters. People do not even notice that they are doing it.

I just found your channel, good work. The people has a tradition on Headmen, if you go to places like the old Transkei and the Ciskei, the rural people there, although not very modern, but it is very clean and very well organized, they still have Headmen, the elders of the communities who marshall the people around projects an dmake sure communal stuff gets done. I grew up with those people and they are unaffected by politics, or the outside world, they are very friendly, helpfull, generous and will look after anybody if that person is in need. I could speak Xhosa before I could speak Afrikaans or English. Yes, the women over there are not in charge, the men are, and not any men, you must be older than 60 before you can command orders and get things done. They have a court system were people gets punished without getting the Police involved IT WORKS. Modernisation has elevated 20% of them but the rest struggle with the pace of modern life. The truth is that Blacks don't care about each other. they don't see poverty, the ones that thrive expects the rest to kiss their feet and honor them as if they are gods, it is foolish and stupid.

      Thanks for your comment.
Japanese have a clean, innovative, interesting and very organised society - with not that much land and a very large population. So, I do not buy the overpopulation thing. If there are many of you all the more reason to be very organised.
Your points on some black people living well and this not only being a black thing, I think misses the the point of the video. Listen again and then access that comment/reasoning once more.
      Regards
