Yep, I was listening to Stevie Wonder and looked up who sampled the beat, pleasantly surprised to find it was Shock G.

People can say whatever they want when it comes to hip hop “evolving” but whatever we have today is no where near this pure and beautiful. Hip hop used to touch you deeply that even as a child you could feel the emotions of it. That’s just how powerful Tupac was for me. As a child I could feel the pain of the world and how we need to be better. I felt this at 4 yrs old.

I’m the same, this song resonated with me and from then on I was intrigued by his music. Tupac seemed to be able to connect with lost souls, presumably…because he was one himself. I can listen to this song today and feel all the emotion I felt long ago.
