Hi Ben, Your channel is one of the few that I believe the claims made. At least 98.37% of your claims. Most "info" on the web is a bunch of purple poop. I appreciate you, Ben, for the honest content of this channel. Thanks. *>>-->* 🦉
Never used the Term - Trophy Coins - or heard a collector or dealer use it - What a "Word Salad" reminds me of a current country so called leader. Best wishes and Happy Holidays - no wait - Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Donald - Best Wishes to you and your loved ones through the years moving forward. May you find that special coin under your Christmas Tree
Hey Ben - Here's one not coin related - but writer didn't have knowledge of bowling. I won The Tucson Open Bowling Pro-am tournament at the old Golden Pin Lanes - I won $750 cash and an Italian Zebra oak full size Pool Table worth about $1500. Plus the giant trophy. So article about me appeared in the newspaper - the best line in the article is - Goodspeed wins the bowling tournament by - get this - "18 strokes" What the heck?
I also found an article assembled by AI on the web - it was about gold Krugerrand characteristics. The article, occurring on two jeweller companies' websites, rambled about year dates in Roman numerals, crest types above Kruger's effigy and other absurdities. AI clearly had assembled info on all South African coins and thus created a "look-out-for"-manual that will scare the shit out of anyone who just bought their first Krugerrand 🙂
"The Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows: you open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward-reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them. In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know." - Michael Crichton (1942-2008)
Whaaaaaa??? I would love to hear an interview with you and Ian and Russell specifically discussing them new my collect app. I’m not sure if you’re in there yet, but I would be curious as to your thoughts there have a wonderful week.
The Internet is painful. There is so much junk and bad info. Now we are training AI on the same junk. Eventually we will hit a point where we have to go back to books to fact check what is online. It feels like the media and news sources are just getting lazy and we accept it. For coins, watch Ben, read books and research. It won't be fast and easy but you will be better informed.
This Yahoo finance article is one of innumerable examples that shows that we need to do our research and corroborate information we see on the internet or we hear as a rumor from someone else before we start going crazy and doing stupid things based on a single article or a single person's comment. Take a breath, do some research, think before acting.
I don't know about trophy coins, but that sure is a trophy shirt. You're crushing it!
Slaying 😂
Thanks! Mrs coingeek is proud
That article was written by a bot.

I have been buying and selling coins for 54 years. I don’t know everything about all coins but I do a lot of research on my own.
Ben., I've been collecting coins since 1975. I have never used the term " Trophy coin".
It isn’t a term I hear US collectors use. It may be used more in other countries 🤔
@TheCoinGeek Possible.

Yay!
I think American Hartford Gold is one of those companies that advertises on radio. I think you're right, that article was AI written. I hate that
That's AI. "In the corner of your hand...?" There's always something off with it, if you can listen to it long enough without your eyes glazing over.
Been collecting over 50 years.
Bad info originates from a guy named Bob
This article left out the I in coin.

NEVER, collecting since 1965, ugghhh!😂
AI is great at writing bad click bait articles, humans are doomed.
I hate that AI was allowed on RUclips it is the main reason some people who are clueless about coins think they have a rare million dollar coin
How many cocktails did you have before you sat down to make this video?
Clearly not enough
