  • In this video, I will be Unboxing and using the ToAuto 3KG Electric Melting Furnace. I will go over What the Furnace Kits Includes. The only thing you really need is a good leather apron and Face Shield. I will be making some small copper Tombstones. If you like the tombstones, there are patterns available on my website. There are 6 different ones.
    If you need any tools for your furnace, I have been making some lifting tongs and Pouring Shanks/Pouring tongs, If you need some, email me with what you need, and I'll see what I can do.
    When I make extras, I will have them listed on my website. Everything helps support the channel. thewulf56.com/ Contact Info on my About Me Page.

      I would have to say at this point, I really like it, It does take a while to get heated up and melted, anywhere from 1h15min-1hr30min or more depending on how much metal you are melting. It really does well on the small jobs. The Gas furnace is still great for the bigger jobs or just melting in general.

      what temp are you setting the furnace at? I am running mine around 1125, but it takes around 75-90 minutes to melt a good crucible full of copper.

    • @Thewulf56
      @Thewulf56  2 года назад +1

      how tight do you have the wire pack into the crucible? I had some cutoff pieces stuffed on top of a small ingot and I kept watching and watching and they would never melt as they were really close to the top of the crucible, come to find out they were stuck and the ingot underneath had melted. Careful on how long you run these electric furnaces, to long for to hot could cause them to mess up. the book should say, I think it is around 3 hours if I remember correctly.

      Its not a powder, it is called Liver of Sulfur, add it to boiling or hot water, wait a minute or so till its dark as you want it, and remove, rinse in water with baking soda in it, and you can leave it totally dark or hit it with steel wool remove color from high spots and make the details stand out.
