  • In collaboration with Music Elements, the Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble (SWSPE) presents Paul Lansky’s “Threads”, Movement 8 - Recitative.
Recitative, centres around the John Cage-like 'noise' instruments, bottle, flower pots, crotales etc. These multi-textured tones highlight the serial rhythmic patterns that drive this movement.
This movement is part of Threads by Paul Lansky, a "cantata" for percussion quartet broken into 10 short movements, centering around three larger themes.
This multi-textured composition aims to explore the different tonal qualities and expressive range of percussive instruments. Whether lyrical and tender, or forceful and aggressive, these threads of music are weaved together to form a compelling and cohesive piece of music.
Presented by the Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble, proudly supported by Music Elements.
Presented by Arnav Shirodkar, Hong Xian Zheng, Rei Lim, and Sng Yiang Shan. Recorded at the Black Box @ Music Elements, we hope to expand the public’s appreciation of the percussive arts, as well as generate new opportunities to rehearse and perform together.
Stay tuned for more performances by the SWSPE!
