A Japanese rock band. The 'gap' between look and sound was the intention of Miku, the band's founder. Their costumes have evolved over their eleven years; their music has evolved even more. Individually they are each the best. Together they are possibly the best rock band performing today. A huge catalogue of songs, peerless live performances, and a love and respect for their fans that is reflected back.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
thanks for the reacting to BAND-MAID. Just a note, it looks like you are sharing the headphones which could result in you guys not hearing some of the instrument. Some times instruments like the guitars are panned, like the rhythm guitar in the left ear and the lead in the right.
Oh, I just noticed it... Yes, in case of BAND-MAID listening with one ear only may result in quite different experience for two people sharing the earbuds. For studio version of a song, they lose a couple of layers of guitars each, but for a live version, Samuel would hear only Kanami, and Lucas only Miku. And Samuel would say, "Wow, what an amazing guitar solo!" while Lucas would be like, "What solo? There was no solo."
And the lyrics for DICE are really deep. I remember when W otmgk did his compilation videos a few years ago, I translated DICE lyrics into Russian, and I kept rewatching that video with Russian close captions on, each time getting goosebumps from it. Miku Kobato is really one of the deepest philosophers of our time...
Band Maid 🔥 I have guitars older than both of you put together. And this band is the most fun and creative hard rock fusion band in generations. They write whatever they want. They do hard rock, punk, funk, metal, ballads, instrumentals, and acoustics. Don’t sweat the lyrics. Treat Saiki’s voice as the fifth instrument. You cannot possibly know what they’re about without at least 10 tracks under your belt including five or six live performances. This is an important musical artist. Let the outfits fool someone else. You’re on a rock and roll journey 🤘🏽 Go live instrumental next. “Onset,” official live video. You have just opened the gate. Run through it
The band founder "Miku" (Rhythm guitar/Backing singer) worked for a time in a traditional Japanese Maid Cafe. So, she used the uniform to come up with Band Maid.
"After Life" would be a good introduction for them to the idea of a Maid Cafe. A bit awkward, but at least they would see the outfits 😂 ruclips.net/video/2MOvCkCqz_U/видео.htmlsi=Po-EXxGmm_2m90R4
Almost all their official videos have closed captions - subtitles, and these can make big difference to understanding the meanings of the songs (like "Hate?" 👍😎), even for the english parts as early on Saiki pronounced her english in a strong japanese enounciation. They do have some all-english songs, especially later as Saiki's english improved a LOT, such as the co-lab with The Warning or "The Dragon Cries", and they also have several purely instrumental tracks, such as "From Now On", "Onset", and an instrumental version of "Giovanni", among others. When, and I hope you do, you get more into them, you'll realise that while they call themselves "hard rock", they have a LOT of different influences, and styles, to their music. Oh, regarding the outfits. When Miku came up with the band and was putting it together, she had worked in a japanese café where they dressed as maids, and she thought the contrast, or "gap", between girls dressed like that and their music would be interesting/amusing. Some of the girls, especially MISA, (bass) disliked it, and over time their styles progressed - MISA really leaning into her "barefoot assassin" nickname, with a ninja-esc outfit.
"After Life" is a wonderful song, and it shows one of the Maid cafes, '@home cafe', where Miku worked before. Not exactly this one, but in the same chain. From what I've heard, that cafe has closed. But the chain prospers.
Very popular Japanese hard rock group since 2013 they have been kicking it with over 100 songs in their catalog. Check out anything and you will like it, try DOMINATION, HATE?, RINNE, the list is endless!
They may be the best rock group in the world today (I think they are). They are certainly the most creative band since the Beatles, and they are top-tier musicians. I saw many of the classic rock bands - Purple, Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, many more, all in their heyday. I’ve seen Band-maid three times and their performances stand up to any of those legendary bands. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual shred. The band was struggling early on, and in 2014, even as the label was considering dropping them, they posted the music video for “Thrill” which went viral globally. When they realized what was going on, it gave them the momentum to forge ahead, and they have now done multiple tours of Europe and the U.S. and are building a global fanbase who call themselves the Maidiacs. They have released seven full albums, as well as several EPs, singles and music videos. They have put out around 170 songs, covering a wide variety of styles and sounds, without any duds. They combine a punk vibe with instrumental virtuosity (two things that are often seen as being incompatible), and have done some amazing progressive-rock songs and ballads with a metal edge to them. They toured the U.S. in 2022 and sold out 14 cities in less than 48 hours. They followed it up with a 2023 tour which had to be expanded from their original plans. Their fan base skews heavily to actual practicing musicians. Some of those followed the band to multiple dates and documented everything on youtube-some of the footage is hilarious. I’ve seen them in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Their shows are truly life-reaffirming. So far no announcements of another European tour but it seems likely in 2025. Band-Maid are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio. Everything they have posted from their 10thAnniversary concert in Yokohama is absolute fire-I have bought the DVD and recommend you do too. 33 songs, 3 hours of insanity. The best clip on YT from that concert is “Hate?” ruclips.net/video/yfORoQIqB3E/видео.html Here are more links, to older performances: Freedom (Feb 14 2020) ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html Domination (Feb 14 2020) ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html Choose Me (Feb 14 2020) ruclips.net/video/HcqitbXgigU/видео.html Onset (Instrumental-insane!) ruclips.net/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/видео.html And an official MV, one of their most popular: Daydreaming (it’s a slower ballad, gorgeous and truly heart-wrenching): ruclips.net/video/RCaeUkrItyY/видео.html
Hi guys. IMO the best music happening right now is happening outside of English speaking countries. I'm from the US, and I'm in my 60's, but I've never really been a lyrics person. It's all about the music and the emotions connected to it that makes it for me. That said, most of their songs do have English subs if you want to go that route, and they do not all have this old school rock vibe (I love it, but maybe you don't). For something the sounds more modern, or outside the box, try their MV Influencer, or the live of Black Hole, or the audio only of Giovanni. Many other songs await, including ballads, and songs that pass through 3 or 4 genres within 2 minutes. Anyway, I LOVE this band and they have a very uplifting and grin inducing quality, on top of being top tier songwriters and musicians. Hope you check more of them out.
BAND-MAID's signature is elegantly sprinkling in a few English words with Japanese lyrics to keep the song pacing interesting. 6:54 - "This type of Rock isn't up my alley" - BAND-MAID dabbles in different sub-genres of rock so there is something for everyone. Here are some recommendations so you can experience their eclectic talent: - Hate? (Official Live) - Shambles (MV) - Warning! (MV) - Freedom (2020 live) - From Now On (MV) - Secret My Lips (MV)
A lot of their videos have english subtitles. And they are absolutely amazing. They are doing many different things and jump among different styles of music with their roots in heavy rock. Their live performances are incredible😀👍 Some suggestions to what you should listen to next: Live: Hate, Freedom, Onset, Manners/Blackhole. Videos: Morratorium, Non fiction days, Rinne. But there are soooo many great songs by this band.
Great reaction. I don't understand most of the Japanese words when listening to Band-Maid, but I just think of the singer as another instrument in the band. Of course if there's CC, I can get on the video and if don't have CC, I have to look up the lyrics after the fact. But, at the end of the day, good music is good music and the Maids are spectacular. I hope you continue on the journey with the Maids as they are one of best rock bands out there. Try "From Now On", which is an awesome instrumental to get the music juices flowing. And then check them out live, which is more times than not, the best way to experience the Maids. Try "Domination" Official Live MV at Line Cube Shibuya, "Puzzle" OLMV at Tokyo Garden Theater, "Don't You Tell Me" OLMV or "Hate?" OLMV both from their 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. As for anime, they actually have done a bunch. Their latest, "Protect You" OMV, is the outro for the anime "Grendizer U". And "Shambles is the outro theme for the anime "Kengan Ashura" season 2 on Netflix. Their songs have also been used in movie and TV. Like the Netflix movie "Kate", which featured "Choose Me" OMV and OLMV and "Blooming" OMV. "Choose Me" was also used in "Peacemaker".
Welcome to the BandMaid experience. The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts: •Bass solos are more likely to happen than not •Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be •Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. •Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! •11 yrs with the same line up. Think about that. •More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. •Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. •Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. •As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. •Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well. •They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. •Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
Stick around boys these girls are for real. When they're not killing babies they're Rockin' The HOUSE!!! Check out "Domination" official LIVE video, they tear it up there. BTW- whenever you listen to a Band-Maid song, click the "CC" closed caption icon for lyrics, this one has lyrics.
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world! You need to check out their live performances to truly appreciate how incredible they are.
I enjoyed your reaction. Most of the recent MVs have English subtitles. They do have English words in their songs. If you want to really see what they are about then check out their recent Live videos of Don't You Tell Me and Hate. They absolutely shine live and you will get a better appreciation of their skill
Good thing, Band Maid doesn't encourage unaliving little ones. I have seen Saki get out of character and smile at a little girl. Band Maid's songs are about pursuing your dreams. I am 57, and after becoming a Maidiac, I am thinking about going into school for rocket science. Maybe even the Space Force.
I love that you have a collection of all-female rock bands. Guess what? Japan has had an active all-girl rock and metal scene since at least 1981. This is a starter list of all-female (or in eight cases, mixed gender) metal, punk, hard-rock and post-rock bands, with founding dates where I know them. It's alphabetical, except for the first three, which are at the top of the list for historical reasons. They set the table for the explosion of Japanese female hard-rock, punk and metal bands. Note: I have tried to pick clips that are high quality and are representative of the band's style. If you put the question out there, you are likely to get suggestions mainly for Aldious, Band-Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. (If you area long-time listener or reviewer you have undoubtedly heard many of these). You can’t go wrong with any of them, but find time to check out more of the bands on this list. They are all worth the time and deserve the love, and many will really surprise you. My personal favorites include Asterism, Bridear, Doll$Boxx/Gacharic Spin, existTtrace, Hagane, Hanabie, Mary’s Blood, Sokoninaru and Tricot. Ok, the list: Show-Ya (1981) The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring. They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame. “I am the Storm” ruclips.net/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/видео.html Shonen Knife (1981) The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours, and opened for Nirvana, who were big fans. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones. ruclips.net/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/видео.html Destrose (2005) This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in metal history, because they spun off so many great bands, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead: ruclips.net/video/JpyzVlPJC2g/видео.html ruclips.net/video/e-CH-FLS2kM/видео.html (This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.) Aldious (2008) Glamorous and kick-ass rockers. One of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose. ruclips.net/video/sfkJT0rra-8/видео.html Asterism (2013) Power trio that will melt your face off. Guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and just turned 21. ruclips.net/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/видео.html Babymetal (2010) The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing from Kami Band. ruclips.net/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/видео.html Band-Maid (2013) OK, there are 160+ great songs by them. Easily the best known band on this list other than Babymetal, they are more hard rock and prog than metal. Did a 14 city US tour in 2022 that sold out 48 hours after being listed, and a 2023 global 10th anniversary tour. There is a ton of fan footage of that tour up on youtube, a lot of which is great stuff. Here is a live clip: ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html Bridear (2011) Heavy, technical, and their tiny bassist also growls. They are releasing a new album in June 2024 that is a real killer. This is from their original lineup: ruclips.net/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/видео.html Cyntia (2011) Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches. ruclips.net/video/FnhObh5i_3U/видео.html D-Drive (2009) Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a one of my favorites, a gorgeous, moody jazz-blues-prog fusion number: ruclips.net/video/m5G3nXJtSzQ/видео.html Disqualia (2015) Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now the lead guitarist of Nemophila. ruclips.net/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/видео.html Doll$Boxx (2012) Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki, best-known as the co-founder of Unlucky Morpheus, and Gacharic Spin. ruclips.net/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/видео.html East of Eden (2023) Supergroup assembled by Ayasa, the fabulous violinist whose day job is with Morphonica, one of the BangDream projects. Guitar: Yuki from D-Drive; Drums: Mizuki from Lonesome Blue; Bass: Wakazaemon, from Marty Friedman’s band; Vocals: Minato Akane, from Predia) “Evolve” ruclips.net/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/видео.html existTtrace (2003) Best-known female Visual Kei band. Progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) They have kept their original lineup intact for 20 years and counting. ruclips.net/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/видео.html Fate Gear (2015) Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (with occasional detours) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list: ruclips.net/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/видео.html Gacharic Spin (2009) Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical. Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ruclips.net/video/vfzIt20_xXg/видео.html Gallhammer (2003) Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music(!) ruclips.net/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/видео.html Galmet (2006) Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses. ruclips.net/video/PnvrOLeRt-I/видео.html Ganglion (2010) Metal with a hint of electronica: ruclips.net/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/видео.html Hagane (2018) Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019. They broke up in 2023 but have reformed with a new lineup, still built around Sakura, and now featuring the wild and crazy Junna on drums. Here, Sakura does a magical solo using a Phrygian scale at warp speed: ruclips.net/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/видео.html Hanabie (2019) Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash (they jokingly call it “Harajuku-core, after a district in Tokyo famous for exuberant youth culture). Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years, they played three North American festivals in 2023 and are continuing to tour. ruclips.net/video/G18yyvPCiTM/видео.html Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below) Koiai/Lisa-X Band (2013) Prodigy guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila). Lisa-X formed her first band in 2013 at the age of eight. She has done collaborations with a host of top musicians including Polyphia, Saki, Yuki (of D-Drive) and Billy Sheehan. ruclips.net/video/mN_oLqTka6M/видео.html After original vocalist Rina left the band, they rebranded as Koiai. Lonesome Blue (2021) Progressive rock, pop-metal fusion. This was Narumi’s (see below) long-awaited new band; unfortunately, she parted ways with them after only one album. This song is a wild fusion of classic Disco with Metal: ruclips.net/video/aEdyEEnMTy8/видео.html Lovebites (2016) Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash, melodic but brain-meltingly technical. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO: “When Destinies Align” ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html Mardelas (2014) Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in metal ruclips.net/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/видео.html Mary's Blood (2008) The first major Destrose spin-out; Jedi-level lineup. Here, in their most famous video, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: “Marionette” ruclips.net/video/MLM2unV0kwU/видео.html Maximum the Hormone (1998) Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the female member of the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan. This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) ruclips.net/video/beN5ep5MrdY/видео.html MergingMoon (2010) Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of the Ukrainian metalcore/deathcore band Jinjer. ruclips.net/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/видео.html Muses (2020) Hard fusion with funk overtones; Supergroup assembled by the guitarist, Rie aka Suzaku, and including Juna Serita, the phenomenal bassist who was previously with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi and is now also with the Jazz Avengers. They absolutely rip. ruclips.net/video/exbIYCTQdpo/видео.html Mutant Monster (2008) Punk-pop, really good at it. Unfortunately, they have not been active in some time. ruclips.net/video/Fd6ymMR40NU/видео.html the list is too long for one comment, so look for the rest in the next comment.

Part of this in English. Turn on your closed captions. Candy or the whip, which do you like? Watch HATE? live from Yokohama Arena and you'll hear something great. Can I take your order? Just some hints to listen carefully. You can watch SHOW THEM done with The Warning (Mexican) to hear something totally in English. Or you can watch THE DRAGON CRIES which is just them totally in English. Sieze the moment, they intersperse English in with Japanese. Best rock band on the planet.
Welcome, Sam & Lucas. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 210 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. First ... BAND MAID is Japanese. Second ... most of their videos have closed captions in English. Even many of the older ones had CC added when the band was featured in the Netflix movie KATE. Most of their songs actually contain about 40 percent English lyrics. They formed over 11 years ago, and yes they are popular. Surprisingly most of their fanbase is in the USA and EU. They recently collaborated on a song with The Warning, another all female band out of Mexico, called SHOW THEM.
I watched recently NittPicc reacting to Chinchilla, and she kept repeating, with amazement, "I understand every single word she's saying!" For me, it's always a huge challenge to understand the lyrics, even if they are in Russian. Most singers don't bother so much about lyrics being sung clearly. They often sacrifice proper accent and emphasis for the sake of musical rhythm.
@@VladimirChupin Musical rhythm and rhyming can both come into play. Saiki's English is particularly difficult to understand at times. I understood many more lyrics listening to NAM cover their songs 🤭.
This band has great musicians and a great singer. You could put Bsnd Msid and their music against any band in the past 50+ years and only a few could compare to them. Best band on the planet.

They are from Japan. The best band out there now . They do use some English in the lyrics. They are even more amazing live . Try " Hate? " official live video.
You should check out "Show Them," which Band-Maid did with The Warning. All English lyrics on that one. To me, Saiki's voice is another instrument, and I don't really care that I don't understand what she's saying. It's just great music.
Hi, Samuel and Lucas. You've noticed the contrast between Maid café's cute uniform (only 2 wear one in this video) and the aggressive rock they play. But they are Japanese and sing using some English, believe me. They have a very extensive catalog. Try Protect You. This is a recent song for the Grendizer anime. THANKS.
Close-captions are a thing! You should know that by reacting on RUclips. Once you know them you’ll not remember word for word but you’ll know what it’s about we you repeat listen.
Thank you for reciting the BAND-MAID song. They are dressed as maids, but their playing techniques are top notch. A band that only looks like it should focus on their faces and appearances, but this music video mainly shows their playing hands in the dark. They are confident in their performance, which is backed up by good practice. If they provide beauty, catchy and elegant songs, they can't go without everyone's instructions. As a Japanese fan, I think so. I've been a fan for 8 years and they call me Madiac. If you want to feel their music, watch their live video. ruclips.net/video/yfORoQIqB3E/видео.htmlsi=HCg2So7uZnIeTPDC ruclips.net/video/LVl0mcEu1r8/видео.htmlsi=YQH8i1a7YSonCFxD
Thank you for your reaction. My musical journey is with Band Maid, as they change, so do I. Now that part with language I can understand so I suggest you react to the MV ”From Now On.” I have not checked what you typically like but Lovebites do sing in english, so why not check their MW for Shadowmaker. Have fun! :)
One Key thing to understand about BAND-MAID is that they are a punk/prog metal band fronted by two pop vocalists. Metal purists may not believe such a combination can work, but this gives Band-Maid a unique sound you won't hear anywhere else. Japan has a ton of rock bands (And I mean ROCK bands, not J-pop groups) that don't just copy Western rock, but do rock in ways only Japanese rock groups can. Give these bands a listen: Maximum the Hormone, Ningen Isu, Hanabie, and Nemophila. There are many more. Japan has a TON of unique rock acts that the West has ignored, solely because they either don't sing in English or because they sing in a Japanese accent. We need to get over that.
And a thing about the maid outfits, Guys: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
I think you shall listen to the official video for "Hate?" with captions on. It is not a positive lyrics, but it is strong. Then maybe the official live two song video "Manners and Black Hole", it has captions. Then maybe the official MV "From now on", its instrumental. Then you can come back and say if BAND-MAID are playlist worthy.
"Dice" is a good intro to Band-Maid, but they have around 130 other songs that are equally good and they keep writing more. Kanami Tono (Ld Gtr) does most of the composing, Misa (Base) and Akane (Drums) write their own arrangements. You've heard the question: "If you were shipwrecked on a desert island and could only listen to one band, who would you pick?" Pick Band-Maid. You'll never get bored listening to them. They don't know how to write a boring song. Don't worry about the Japanese lyrics: use the CC's or look up the translations. (Aint the internet wonderful? You can look up lyric translations!) Or just enjoy listen to them as though you were listening to opera in a foreign language. Miku Kobato and Saiki Atsumi are both excellent lyricists and they often combine English into their lyrics. Miku does wickedly clever thing while mixing the two languages together. A good example of this is "Daydreaming" where you'll notice that 'of' rhymes with a word that isn't there. Band-Maid is best served live, suggestions: "Puzzle" live at Tokyo Garden, "Hate?" at Yokohama Arena, "Manners/Black Hole" Day of Maid, "Domination", "Freedom", and "Play" at Line Cube Shibuya, and then "About Us" from the Online Okyu-ji.
Perhaps you'd prefer something a bit less rocky so you could try Daydreaming MV, Bestie MV which is in English and was a colab with Mike Einziger of Incubus or Endless Story Live (with subtitles on) and is particularly moving for us fans that have been with them for some time. Watching their live performances generally may give you a better feel for them and the Maid aesthetic is to deliberately create the gap of what you see is not what you get.
Well, there is a checkmark somewhere in the settings of the audio driver, where you can tell it to play mono. I.e., they would hear a flat mix equal for both earbuds. Maybe they are doing it this way?
Are you curious about the lyrics? Then listen to Hate? The other one is From Now On. I don't know what kind of taste you guys prefer, so I'll suggest two distinctive songs. My favorite is Protect You. And they're Japanese. If you like anime, you might be wondering why they're dressed as maids.
Okay so I'll give the Korean thing a pass ...just, cos it's your first time, but then you had to come out with that word.....Anime. nope too much I'm outta here
@falconsooner I hear the anime comments also, which sometimes bother me because they are way more, but at the same time, I don't watch anime so I don't know I'm hearing anime type music lol
@@falconsooner True and some good ones at that. But it's still rock music at the end of the day and should be recognized as such. If this was a western band the word anime would not even be mentioned. If they listen to Metallica would they call them anime? No definitely not, but Metallica has Anime songs! so why not?
@threemonkeysk Fair point. But at least half (if not more) make the anime comparison during a first time reaction. I will admit, it can get tiresome but IMO it isn't worth bailing out on a reactor if the rest of the reaction is solid.
These ladies have lots of encouraging lyrics that actually have real meaning. You just stepped into the pigeon hole which runs for over 120+ songs. THESE wonderful ladies from Japan are the BEST rock band in the world….Past, present and foreseeable future. Enjoy the ride! I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤

Excellent job as usual Davey !!!
thanks for the reacting to BAND-MAID.
FYI this particular video has _Close Caption_ that is in English but not all *BAND-MAID* videos has the _CC_
Shoutout BM4 for his second (set) of new reactors today! That makes three for the Pigeons today! 🍺😎🤘🏻🕊️
You’re on a rock and roll journey 🤘🏽
Go live instrumental next. “Onset,” official live video.
You have just opened the gate. Run through it
GUYS GLAD YOU ENJOYED THIS BAND ....THIS IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD
The band founder "Miku" (Rhythm guitar/Backing singer) worked for a time in a traditional Japanese Maid Cafe. So, she used the uniform to come up with Band Maid.
"After Life" would be a good introduction for them to the idea of a Maid Cafe. A bit awkward, but at least they would see the outfits 😂
ruclips.net/video/2MOvCkCqz_U/видео.htmlsi=Po-EXxGmm_2m90R4
First, a little background on the band:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through.
The best clip on YT from that concert is “Hate?” ruclips.net/video/yfORoQIqB3E/видео.html

And an official MV, one of their most popular: Daydreaming (it’s a slower ballad, gorgeous and truly heart-wrenching): ruclips.net/video/RCaeUkrItyY/видео.html
Best rock band on the planet, bar none, but best experienced live.
BAND-MAID's signature is elegantly sprinkling in a few English words with Japanese lyrics to keep the song pacing interesting.
6:54 - "This type of Rock isn't up my alley" - BAND-MAID dabbles in different sub-genres of rock so there is something for everyone. Here are some recommendations so you can experience their eclectic talent:
- Hate? (Official Live)
- Shambles (MV)
- Warning! (MV)
- Freedom (2020 live)
- From Now On (MV)
- Secret My Lips (MV)
A lot of their videos have english subtitles. And they are absolutely amazing. They are doing many different things and jump among different styles of music with their roots in heavy rock.
Their live performances are incredible😀👍
Some suggestions to what you should listen to next:
Live: Hate, Freedom, Onset, Manners/Blackhole.
Welcome to the world of Band Maid, the most versatile and creative band touring at the moment. More than 120 songs to go, enjoy :)
React to Band-Maid "From Now On" and you won't have to worry about lyrics.
"The Gap" strikes again
Yes, Po!❤
Band-maid is a top live Band nice reaction greeting from germany
Welcome to the BandMaid experience. The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts:
•Bass solos are more likely to happen than not
•Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be
•Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen.
•Genre?
They absolutely shine live and you will get a better appreciation of their skill
oh those cute little MAIDS - careful - they will rip your face off ! no flash in the pan either. 11 years in now for this deadly rock band
I love the production of this track. Guys...check it with both pods...stereo superbness awaits 😁
Things you should know about BAND-MAID. Bassist MISA likes drinking Jim Beam & beer on stage, drummer Akane prefers her soba.😏
I see🧐. That’s why Bassist MISA ALWAYS keep forgetting wearing Shoe😅😂🤣 because She got wasted🥴🍺( Jim Beam & beers😬😤👎🤭)
@@MnPofBM Lol. She lost so many pairs she doesn't bother to buy any now :)
@GaryHolloway-810 hahaha - I see what you done there ......... gold
@@gerardcahill5823 Thanking you. How have you only got 1 sub after 10yrs. I'll soon change that.👍
Good thing, Band Maid doesn't encourage unaliving little ones. I have seen Saki get out of character and smile at a little girl. Band Maid's songs
are about pursuing your dreams. I am 57, and after becoming a Maidiac, I am thinking about going into school for rocket science. Maybe even the Space Force.
Next song "Hate?". Pure ROCK
Oh... That song is actually about killing babies... Mmmm... One nasty baby... Mmmm... OK, one ugly man who acts like a baby...
Ok, the list:
Show-Ya (1981) The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring. They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame. “I am the Storm” ruclips.net/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/видео.html
Shonen Knife (1981) The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours, and opened for Nirvana, who were big fans. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones. ruclips.net/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/видео.html
Destrose (2005) This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in metal history, because they spun off so many great bands, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead:
ruclips.net/video/JpyzVlPJC2g/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/e-CH-FLS2kM/видео.html
(This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.)
Aldious (2008) Glamorous and kick-ass rockers. One of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose. ruclips.net/video/sfkJT0rra-8/видео.html
Asterism (2013) Power trio that will melt your face off. Guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and just turned 21. ruclips.net/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/видео.html
Babymetal (2010) The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing from Kami Band. ruclips.net/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/видео.html
Band-Maid (2013) OK, there are 160+ great songs by them. Here is a live clip: ruclips.net/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/видео.html
Bridear (2011) Heavy, technical, and their tiny bassist also growls. They are releasing a new album in June 2024 that is a real killer. This is from their original lineup: ruclips.net/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/видео.html
Cyntia (2011) Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches.
ruclips.net/video/FnhObh5i_3U/видео.html
D-Drive (2009) Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a one of my favorites, a gorgeous, moody jazz-blues-prog fusion number: ruclips.net/video/m5G3nXJtSzQ/видео.html
Disqualia (2015) Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now the lead guitarist of Nemophila. ruclips.net/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/видео.html
Doll$Boxx (2012) Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki, best-known as the co-founder of Unlucky Morpheus, and Gacharic Spin. ruclips.net/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/видео.html
East of Eden (2023) Supergroup assembled by Ayasa, the fabulous violinist whose day job is with Morphonica, one of the BangDream projects. Guitar: Yuki from D-Drive; Drums: Mizuki from Lonesome Blue; Bass: Wakazaemon, from Marty Friedman’s band; Vocals: Minato Akane, from Predia) “Evolve” ruclips.net/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/видео.html
existTtrace (2003) Best-known female Visual Kei band. Progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) They have kept their original lineup intact for 20 years and counting. ruclips.net/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/видео.html
Fate Gear (2015) Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (with occasional detours) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list: ruclips.net/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/видео.html
Gacharic Spin (2009) Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical. Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ruclips.net/video/vfzIt20_xXg/видео.html
Gallhammer (2003) Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music(!) ruclips.net/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/видео.html
Galmet (2006) Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses. ruclips.net/video/PnvrOLeRt-I/видео.html
Ganglion (2010) Metal with a hint of electronica:
ruclips.net/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/видео.html
Hagane (2018) Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019. They broke up in 2023 but have reformed with a new lineup, still built around Sakura, and now featuring the wild and crazy Junna on drums. Here, Sakura does a magical solo using a Phrygian scale at warp speed:
ruclips.net/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/видео.html
Hanabie (2019) Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash (they jokingly call it “Harajuku-core, after a district in Tokyo famous for exuberant youth culture). Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years, they played three North American festivals in 2023 and are continuing to tour. ruclips.net/video/G18yyvPCiTM/видео.html
Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below)
Koiai/Lisa-X Band (2013) Prodigy guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila).
This song is a wild fusion of classic Disco with Metal: ruclips.net/video/aEdyEEnMTy8/видео.html
Lovebites (2016) Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash, melodic but brain-meltingly technical. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO: “When Destinies Align” ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html
Mardelas (2014) Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in metal ruclips.net/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/видео.html
Mary's Blood (2008) The first major Destrose spin-out; Jedi-level lineup. Here, in their most famous video, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: “Marionette” ruclips.net/video/MLM2unV0kwU/видео.html
Maximum the Hormone (1998) Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the female member of the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan. This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) ruclips.net/video/beN5ep5MrdY/видео.html
MergingMoon (2010) Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of the Ukrainian metalcore/deathcore band Jinjer. ruclips.net/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/видео.html
Muses (2020) Hard fusion with funk overtones; Supergroup assembled by the guitarist, Rie aka Suzaku, and including Juna Serita, the phenomenal bassist who was previously with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi and is now also with the Jazz Avengers. They absolutely rip.
ruclips.net/video/exbIYCTQdpo/видео.html
Mutant Monster (2008) Punk-pop, really good at it. Unfortunately, they have not been active in some time.
ruclips.net/video/Fd6ymMR40NU/видео.html
the list is too long for one comment, so look for the rest in the next comment.

(from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:

Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD.
And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:

If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, live streams, CD, DVD/BD & merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
@@PANIC_aka_PinD Oh yeah! The English version of Manners with Wave Potter is amazing!
Welcome to the "Pigeon Hole"! Here's a guide to everything BAND-MAID: www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje. Binge on the documentaries.
This band has great musicians and a great singer. You could put Bsnd Msid and their music against any band in the past 50+ years and only a few could compare to them. Best band on the planet.

The List, part II:
Narumi (solo) Prog-rock and fusion compositions-a change of pace from a master guitarist who was once the star lead for Destrose. She was later part of Lonesome Blue, but recently left. I’m sure she will turn up with another band. ruclips.net/video/cRyCaHjwIgk/видео.html
Nemophila: (2019) Supergroup ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam. They were founded as a five-piece with dual leads, the other guitarist being former Mary’s Blood shred-master Saki. I’ve seen them live and they are just explosive. Saki left in early 2024. ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html
54 Nude Honeys (1992) Early Japanese punk-they toured the UK and Europe, and reports are that their crowds were as crazy as the crowds at Sex Pistols concerts. ruclips.net/video/jHnJSoGN5Mk/видео.html
Otoboke Beaver (2009) In-your-face feminist thrash punk, way out there. They have toured Europe and the U.S.: ruclips.net/video/fkWfFXnLpYg/видео.html
Paranoid Void (2013) Extremely technical prog and math rock, founded by three high-school classmates, maybe the most mind-bending band on this list.) “Ukiyo” ruclips.net/video/LIP0uf6Lpco/видео.html
Rie aka Suzaku (38 y.o.) Instrumental guitar virtuoso. She is also the founder of Muses, a high-intensity fusion band (see above.) ruclips.net/video/2riBS7MvZvc/видео.html
Sokoninaru (2011) Progressive metal, math rock, extremely technical; male/female cofounders)

Sonic Lover Reckless (2018) Special project of Miyako Watanabe, one of Lovebites’ two incomparable guitarists) ruclips.net/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/видео.html
Telecide (2016) Metalcore, aggressive and melodic at the same time. Disbanded; Natsumi, their drummer, is now the drummer for Bridear ruclips.net/video/keq-7ZCluFc/видео.html
Tricot (2010) Post-progressive math-rock, highly technical with crazy time signatures and polyrhythms ruclips.net/video/P_B_GalsJrE/видео.html
Trident (formerly Kakumei, renamed in 2020 with some personnel changes). Evolved from pop-punk to thrashier hard rock; several lineup changes but the bassist and lead singer have been constants) ruclips.net/video/9k9txMouU34/видео.html
Unlucky Morpheus (2008) Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above. ruclips.net/video/PTuWOWF_0r8/видео.html
Wagakki Band (2012) Folk-Metal fusion band, all jedi-level musicians, half of them play traditional Japanese instruments and the other half play standard metal instruments. They announced in Jan. 2024 that they will go inactive at the end of the year. This song was originally written for a virtual (AI) singer, referred to as a Vocaloid:

Yōsei Teikoku (1997) Rock-Folk-Metal-Electronica fusion ensemble. Set in a fictional Fairy Empire, led by founder Yui, they have done a lot of anime themes and sound-tracks and also perform original songs live, in character.

There are many more. Others that come to mind are BRATS (cofounded by one of the members of Ladybaby), Drop’s, Stereopony, Scandal (still touring globally), and Princess Princess, which all tend more in the pop direction. On the metal side, there are the Bang-Dream projects, which are live groups based on Manga series (there are 9 bands so far in Bang-Dream). And of course, there are other female-fronted Kawaii-metal groups like Ladybaby and Ironbunny, to name the two best-known after Babymetal. I have found listings of over 600 such bands dating back to 1980. The ones listed above are my picks as the most interesting for reasons of quality, longevity or historical impact. If you find others you think belong on this list, please let me know. And if you find a dead link, also please let me know so I can fix the list. Thank you!
ASTERISM.
You forgot ASTERISM 🤦♂
Ah, sorry, ASTERISM was in your Part 1...
@@VladimirChupin for sure. It's alphabetical! (except for the first three).
"Bestie" is all in English. And it's all about love and friendship.
Youth is water on the young.
Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid, BUT you are missing so much when you are sharing airpods.
Thank you for reciting the BAND-MAID song.
They are dressed as maids, but their playing techniques are top notch.
A band that only looks like it should focus on their faces and appearances,
but this music video mainly shows their playing hands in the dark.

Japanese rocking: East of Eden - Gacharic Spin - Lovebites and people may give some more bands from Japan that rocks (Band Maid is my top 1)
Band Maid🍺🥴
Try live , thats their strength, Domination live 2020. subtitle to a lot of their songs.
"Dice" is a good intro to Band-Maid, but they have around 130 other songs that are equally good and they keep writing more. Kanami Tono (Ld Gtr) does most of the composing, Misa (Base) and Akane (Drums) write their own arrangements.
You've heard the question:
"If you were shipwrecked on a desert island and could only listen to one band, who would you pick?"
Pick Band-Maid.
Watching their live performances generally may give you a better feel for them and the Maid aesthetic is to deliberately create the gap of what you see is not what you get.
one headphone each? you are not hearing the music.
Well, there is a checkmark somewhere in the settings of the audio driver, where you can tell it to play mono. I.e., they would hear a flat mix equal for both earbuds. Maybe they are doing it this way?
🕊️🕊️ Double Po!
IS YOUR CHANNEL LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE WORTHY?😀😁😂😅😆
Cool!!
Thanks for checking out Band Maid, but I think our taste in music is far too different for me to stick around. Good luck
Check out live version of Hate
ALSO CKECKOUT KOAIAI .... LISA X
I like it
There are things called subtitles.
🎉
always check for subs...
Okay so I'll give the Korean thing a pass ...just, cos it's your first time, but then you had to come out with that word.....Anime. nope too much I'm outta here
Well, to be fair Band Maid has done anime songs
Same here. All i hear is good music.@@ace2k707
