It's not that he plays victim, ofcourse we all know he wouldn't, but he doesn't give it much importance, as if trying to erase your past completly will fix anything. Plus (and i'm not sure of this), but i think somewhere i heard everything thst happened in the manga was part of dazai's plan, which means what happened to akutagawa was also planned
he doesn’t ‘play the victim’ but his acknowledgment and approval was all part of a bigger plan in which he manipulated akutagawa once again. dazai constantly downplays and ignores the hell he put akutagawa through and though i doubt that atsushi would hate him for it, i would like if he acknowledged that this was a big and horrible part of dazai that dazai himself never apologised for.
@@sixteendreameras someone who kins dazai. It's mostly because ignorance is a bliss. Sometimes there's just things I'll rather forget than change. It hurts people, so I try my best not to do it. But there cases that you want peace yet trying to better your mistakes is hard. So to feel a sense of peace. I just forget my mistakes all together. It's not right but it's what makes me feel better. It's selfish but when you're used to doing it, it's hard to get rid of that habit.

Cause first off, Dazai does not play victim (I wish he did so I can find more reasons to hate him). And Atsushi, despite being a literal angel would not hate Dazai cause, well, Atsushi's an angel. And Atsushi wouldn't even have the guts to finish that argument imo. Dazai would've had just (A) manipulated him, (B) brush it off like nothing or (C) all of that. Anyway, I'd like to believe this is an AU and none of these factors are canon because Akutagawa needs some spotlight.

If I could add contacts I'm going to say this right now the fact that Dazai I did less horrible things to Akutagawa not to mention Mori did horrible things to him as an experimentation and sexual abuse...
